Carried forward from the previous thread.

Lenny however needs a rest before he starts searching.

I'm afraid Basil does tend to get into bed most nights - between us of course...
He was so cozy this morning he had to stick his leg out to cool down (with apologies for the wanton display of Mrs G in her pyjamas 🤣)

@Breadcat24, we were using Feliway Friends and it was ok but then a friend recommended Feliway Optimum and although it is more expensive, I highly highly recommend it. It totally chilled Boone & Eko out and made such a difference when it ran out no one realised as it was their new normal together.
We also put one in the playroom - where they hang out a lot and then on the hallway stairs so the fumes (?) would move as people walked past.

LostCats2 · 22/02/2026 12:45

@YelramBob how on earth did you even manage to get to work?! So gorgeous.
@stormsandsunshine I love it when they stick their feet in the air like that!!
@Kirova FC2 sounds utterly lovely. The hairwashing sounds hilarious (for cat lovers!) I wonder if he was just in too stimulating an environment before or they didn't respect his boundaries maybe?

See, these are the reasons why cats are the best

Kirova · 22/02/2026 14:17

When he was found (straying) he was absolutely full of fleas and very hissy and bitey - so he was crated for a while as he seemed quite feral. Although he had a chip and had been neutered, so he obviously wasn't. I think he was just spooked. He's a lovely boy, not feral at all!

EmpressaurusKitty · 22/02/2026 14:27

Son of Kitty loved combing my hair, especially if I hadn’t brushed it yet.

JaceLancs · 22/02/2026 20:56

Finlay is being very long tonight! I’m slightly worried as he’s a bit off his food and very lethargic - if same tomorrow will be a vet trip

I hope he’s ok soon, @JaceLancs.

Kitty’s 7 next month so I think I’m going to take her for a checkup & also a claw trim. I know it’s a cop out to get the vet to do that but it’s a hell of a lot easier than me doing it.

I quite agree.
Linney goes every month for Solensia so the vet might as well do his claws.

Neither I, nor the vet, have any inclination to do Gizmo's.

TheBroonOneAndTheWhiteOne · 22/02/2026 21:07

Linney was off his food last week @JaceLancs but he's made up for it over the last two days, by demanding (and eating) five pouches a day.

Even Gizmo looks horrified at that quantity.

TheBroonOneAndTheWhiteOne · 22/02/2026 21:34

Is it all right to put my heated throw in the washing machine with this bit still in situ?

I can't work out how to remove it so maybe it's meant to stay in.

Yes it is. I was nervous the first time I washed my heated blanket cause of that bit, but it's fine. Just put it on a very gentle wash. I think I did mine on the delicate cycle at 20

JaceLancs · 22/02/2026 22:49

Long and lean! I’ve been rejected in favour of a warm radiator - bit less worried as had 1/2 a sachet and a few dreamies

Pudmyboy · 22/02/2026 23:11

@JaceLancs I was going to ask if Finlay was a long-legged fellow following your previous post of him stretched out: but it looks like he genuinely is a long limbed lad from your recent pictures so question answered!
Maybe he's had two or three dinners elsewhere so he's not so hungry at the moment? Hope it's a nice easy explanation like that anyway.
Edited to add: I can see stripes in his fur on the last picture, are they actually there or is it a trick of the light?

Lol they do try to worry us.
I hope the improvement continues.

TheBroonOneAndTheWhiteOne · 22/02/2026 23:37

That bugger Linney is miaowing rhythmically at the front door to be let out.

Not happening. He'll be gone till 1 am and I need to get up early tomorrow.

@RumNotRun thank you for the reply about the heated throw. I looked at loads of YouTube videos about washing them, but none of them made this clear. They just all said take the plug out because you can't wash electrical components (no, really?).

JaceLancs · 23/02/2026 00:00

@Pudmyboy yes he does have a few stripy shadows if caught in bright lighting!
He’s actually quite small as cats go - just very long and slender - I’m such a worrier as he’s had a chequered health history and we lost his predecessor very suddenly and quite young due to a kidney stone

JaceLancs · 23/02/2026 00:02

Thank you @TheBroonOneAndTheWhiteOne - I’m in bed now and just checked his tracker and he’s off roaming in his usual field so a good sign

EmpressaurusKitty · 23/02/2026 08:33

How’s Finlay this morning, @JaceLancs?

JaceLancs · 23/02/2026 11:24

@EmpressaurusKitty
Thank you for asking - all food bowls empty and tracker says he left home around 3am popped back for breakfast around 7.30 and is out on the hunt - I’m much happier that he’s back to his usual self although would like to see him in person to check!

EmpressaurusKitty · 23/02/2026 11:45

Sounds hopeful!

Breadcat24 · 23/02/2026 12:26

@JaceLancs Glad Finlay has perked up

Micia has stopped sitting on the widowsill and now on a chest of drawers. I think is is progress?

Pudmyboy · 23/02/2026 14:07

Yes I would say so! Her expression is not as timid as in earlier pictures, to me. She has beautiful eyes 😻

EmpressaurusKitty · 23/02/2026 14:25

I think that’s BIG progress if she’s no longer using the curtain to hide behind.

Grumpyoldpersonwithcats · 23/02/2026 14:25

The thing is she's not hiding, she's just keeping her distance. I think this bodes very well 😻
