Carried forward from the previous thread.

Lenny however needs a rest before he starts searching.

He was probably in character as a cat from the 19th century.

NMEC.
Met him at the Estonian Open Air Museum - think he's a resident.
He was exceptionally friendly while curled up on an exhibit 🤣.

Too bad he wasn't in the gift shop 😹

TheBroonOneAndTheWhiteOne · 22/01/2026 19:30

Grumpy you're so jammy.

Everywhere you go, you encounter random cats.

Not only do you encounter them, but they happily pose for you.

Grumpyoldpersonwithcats · 22/01/2026 19:51

After visiting today I've discovered that his name is Vasso. He does get a mention on their website - but no photo. Disgrace!
Spotted in a shop window today - as if any cat needs training in that 😁

Tony thinks he needs training because I only gave him a piece of tonight's roast turkey AND I only gave him ten of the new treats. He was rubbing all over the packet, they must smell amazing to him, which is good cause they've meant to be great at preventing hairballs.

Stripey is enjoying playing with the toy railway.
She was batting around a signal yesterday and today “Bob” the signal box man is nowhere to be seen. He is far too big to be eaten so presumably has been taken away somewhere and will turn up under a bed in 3 years time.

Stripey’s really mastered the innocent gaze. Gizmo could learn from her.

Kitty looked for something to read this morning & then decided she’d prefer to sit in my sock drawer.

@RumNotRun What are the hairball preventing cat treats called please? Always looking for ways to prevent them. Although, knowing what they're like they will refuse to eat them.

@stormsandsunshine Oh no! Poor Bob the signal box man. Having his signal box attacked by a gigantic cat and then kidnapped. Stripey is definitely doing a good innocent face there.

RumNotRun · 23/01/2026 17:46

@HumanToCatBeasties I got these ones VETIQ Healthy Bites Hairball... https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B08C8KWSWX?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share
They've had really good reviews on Amazon so hopefully they'll help. I also bought the paste from the same brand but I offered it to Toad and he walked away. Apparently you can put it on their front paws to get them to lick it off.

HumanToCatBeasties · 23/01/2026 17:54

Thanks Rum. I do have some Fureeze paste that the vet recommended. She seemed to think that the cats would happily eat it, but they had a similar reaction to Toad, so I hide it at the bottom of their food bowl

TheBroonOneAndTheWhiteOne · 23/01/2026 20:40

Oh yeah?

And how do you do that? Ask your cat to lift its paw up for you?

EmpressaurusKitty · 23/01/2026 21:15

Kitty’s toothpaste says that too, but she happily licks it off my finger. I’ve never really thought about how difficult it would be to get it on her paw.

How do you give Gizmo his flea & worming treatment, Broon?

RumNotRun · 23/01/2026 21:44

I was thinking you would put it on the top of their foot but I suppose the underside would make more sense, maybe when they're sleeping!

DD2 comes round and helps me.
We put gloves on over our jumpers and approach him while he's asleep.
Then she holds him tight and I put the Bravecto Plus on.

We do the same with Linney, minus the gloves, because Linney never bites or scratches.

Kitty is endlessly entertaining 😻😻😻

Pudmyboy · 23/01/2026 22:36

Mind you, so are all the other cats, each takes a turn in the spotlight showing their special skills...

stormsandsunshine · 24/01/2026 00:21

Yes Stripey has an incredible ability to look worried and a bit sad about the chaos she has caused. It’s not unheard of for her to deliberately push something over and then act traumatised by the crash she made.

Bob the signal man is still unaccounted for.

I love that photo of Linney. He looks like a mouse sniffing a ball of white fluff.

We did a daytrip to Helsinki by ferry yesterday.
No cats but was very surprised to spot a NMFH on a side street not far from the city centre. 😲

I confess I'm not an expert in Lagomorphs though so I suppose he could have been a NMFR - but he looked far too big to be a rabbir to me. Can anyone confirm?

First and last photos suggest hare to me, though the ears are a little shorter than I expect. It's the legs - hares have much longer rangier legs than rabbits and in the first pic you see distinctly long front legs with very short hair, and the same for the back legs in the last pic.

Grumpyoldpersonwithcats · 24/01/2026 08:52

Thanks Allergic 👍
