It’s glorious Grumpy and will serve beautifully as premises for TC’s fan club meet-up - tonight or tomorrow, can’t remember exactly.

YesItsMeIDontCare · 29/08/2022 13:42

Nice dogs 😊

I'd love to see a picture of your 4 kitties on there though 😁

I would hate to disappoint 🤣

That's a lovely farmer's tan he's got going on.

PeloAddict · 29/08/2022 22:19

This has cracked me up

I can identify all 5 of our cats on that list.

Grumpyoldpersonwithcats · 30/08/2022 09:55

The last line.
Most of them are mixed breeds though. 🤣🤣🤣

PeloAddict · 30/08/2022 10:08

Ollie is 3 and 5 with a bit of 8

Grumpyoldpersonwithcats · 30/08/2022 10:28

Think Basil is primarily number 2. His paws certainly are.

YesItsMeIDontCare · 30/08/2022 10:55

I like that Pelo 😁

Leroy is 1, 2 & 8, with a smidge of 6 thrown in.

YetAnotherSpartacus · 30/08/2022 11:44

I'm thinking that it needs a couple of additions. I can't remember what Toddler's sister calls her cats; something about beanbags or furniture ... and there needs to be something to describe a cat who does nothing but eat and sleep; maybe "Mr Creosote"?

Supersimkin2 · 30/08/2022 12:25

Basil’s paws 🐾 ♥️

YesItsMeIDontCare · 30/08/2022 15:58

Humour me please...

Does anyone remember Rabbit Cat Food (probably Whiskas) or is it something I've made up in my head?

Fluffycloudland77 · 30/08/2022 17:22

Yes I remember rabbit flavour. I’m also middle aged 😹

YesItsMeIDontCare · 30/08/2022 18:23

Ah-hah! I knew it! Thank you Fluffy 😁

I wonder why they don't do it any more?

Fluffycloudland77 · 30/08/2022 18:36

Maybe rabbit was farmed for fur and fur dropped off a bit. I think it’s a loophole for the fur trade here.

Ive noticed the youngsters don’t seem to see the cruelty in it like we used to.

Allergictoironing · 30/08/2022 18:51

That list is missing "God or Goddess of the Universe" (Girlcat)

Boycat is definitely a number 5, with a bit of 8 (when there's anyone else in the house)

Ah - I never thought of the link to the fur trade Fluffy 🤦🏼‍♀️

Supersimkin2 · 30/08/2022 20:41

Yes! Rabbit and something else, was often a joint flavour.

You’re not middle aged either of you - I’m 54 and even I’m barely nudging it 😀 ie staunchly resisting pink streaks in the silver (not grey) fur.

Fluffycloudland77 · 30/08/2022 20:47

A quick google suggests turkey? Also whiskers still sell it online.

Defiantlynot41 · 30/08/2022 21:09

Whiskas definitely did Rabbit & Chicken flavour. When it was discontinued our 17 year old diva flatly refused to eat anything for what felt like at least a week. It's the sole reason I never only offer their favourites these days, always rotate flavours and brands!

YesItsMeIDontCare · 30/08/2022 23:03

I had this conversation with DB a couple of years ago. He said that he thought "middle-aged" had changed and that it's now later (for want of a better word) than it used to be.
Alas I had to be the bearer of bad news... according to DS we are, in fact, middle-aged.
Further discussion suggested that you always see yourself as "young", your parents as "middle-aged" and your grandparents as "old". Just a theory of mine but DB thinks it's probably accurate in many cases.

Cats don't give a shit about your age as long as you can feed them. Which is why cats are better than children 😂

PeloAddict · 31/08/2022 00:29

Ollie is refusing to eat his usual natures menu. I made the mistake of offering him sheba fine and fresh which he smashed down like he was on man v food and now.. "where is my Sheba? Bestest food, bring it back"

Supersimkin2 · 31/08/2022 08:06

Life on a stick Ollie.

Completely agree about the ageing - life stages are getting later, but mostly one defines them by one’s family. The other thing is that I’m fucking grateful for the odd age spot, nothing to complain about when you think of the alternatives.

One of my mates is desperate to get to the crone stage. You can do and say what you want and everyone has to be nice to you cos you’re an old lady. She says it’s an archetype of humanity to be embraced, nature’s way. She crafty.

Prince slept in the crook of my knees. Feel like world’s oldest crone.

I’m trying Prince on all foods cos I want him to have a gastronomic palate. AGAIL always comes up top.

Last night’s tasting menu was M&S venison meatball. Havelock ate it.

Grumpyoldpersonwithcats · 31/08/2022 08:24

While I suspect I would be classified by most as middle aged, I do remember times when as a youngish adult in the workplace I (and my peers) would gently take the piss out of the office 'old git'.

A few years ago I realised that I am now the office old git. 🤣

Supersimkin2 · 31/08/2022 14:04

Maximise that git potential Grumpy! Don’t forget you’re much too aged to make your own tea (ooh, me hip) or turn on the electronic computer.
