Went out last night for 2 hours, before I went I fed the kittens and shut them in the living room.

I came home and looked for them, they're nowhere.

The living room door was still shut, but they were nowhere to be seen!

In my living room is a corner sofa. One chair, a TV and 2 Toy boxes and a fireplace. They aren't in any of them!!!

They are 4 orphaned/ dumped 6 week old kittens! How on earth have they vanished???? Where are they???

I've sat in there in the quiet and listened. No scratching. Now I've put food down and shut the door again hoping they'll eat then I'll know they're alive Sad but where on earth could they be!

Doing a second living room search now then will move on. They aren't in the kitchen I pulled the kick boards off

I really hope you find them, I'm sure they will turn up safe. Mine used to hide on top of the box we had above the windows to hide the curtain rail, they got up there even though we had short curtains - any chance? Good luck.

justaweeone · 27/09/2014 10:17

If you have any plant pots look there

VivaLeBeaver · 27/09/2014 10:19

Have you looked on top of the top kitchen cupboards?

Hurr1cane · 27/09/2014 10:19

Nowhere in the living room. They're just not. I've searched everywhere in there. No plant pots.

I don't know how they would have gotten out but I've searched the whole kitchen. Which is the only other downstairs room. But if they got in the kitchen then they can get outside. If they can get outside then they can get anywhere. Absolutely anywhere. If they've done that then they've gone. They aren't in the garden.

can you get one of your cats and put them in living room they might lead you to where the kittens are hiding.

VivaLeBeaver · 27/09/2014 10:20

Or borrow. A dog (on a lead) to do the same.

Hurr1cane · 27/09/2014 10:20

I did that last night with giant cat. If they were moving he would have investigated, but he just went to sleep on the sofa.

I can't have a dog in here. We did once let me friend come in with her dog just to the living room away from the cats and old lady cat went into hiding under my bed for a week and lost loads of weight

How strange. Could you call the RSPCA?

enriquetheringbearinglizard · 27/09/2014 10:39

What do you feed them? if it's wet food trying warming it gently because that really brings out the aroma.

Our cat's gone funny on us this morning and is in hiding somewhere in the garden. It's a worry.

I guess the kittens will be totally snuggled up together safely.

Hurr1cane · 27/09/2014 10:44

RSPCA just said to check everywhere and leave out food and they'd come out eventually.

I lost my kittens for a day once and eventually found then inside a drawer. They'd climbed up the back of a chest of drawers inside and got in somehow. They WILL turn up x

autumnboys · 27/09/2014 10:52

One of ours once got round the back of the fridge and climbed into the workings and fell asleep.

Fingers crossed for you.

justaweeone · 27/09/2014 10:53

Have you looked on any bookshelves ?

Quitelikely · 27/09/2014 10:57

Could one of your other cats have opened the door? Like jumped up and opened the handle and then a draught shut the door?

Hurr1cane · 27/09/2014 10:57

That's possible I suppose.

spiderlight · 27/09/2014 11:03

This is so bizarre! They'll have to turn up eventually! I hope you find them soon - you must be going spare.

Castlemilk · 27/09/2014 11:04

Hmm then it is possible that they got out?

I'm sorry if so, they may indeed be gone Thanks

Branleuse · 27/09/2014 11:04

lift up the sofa and check the lining underneath.

Thats where my kitties always liked to hide when they were little

I honestly thought theyd disappeared into thin air more than once

Hurr1cane · 27/09/2014 11:10

I checked the lining. There was no way they could have got in. My friends been over and checked with me. Nothing

Without sounding awful, could the other cats have ate them?

I don't know if this is possible but I'm just at a losd

Quitelikely · 27/09/2014 11:13

Have you checked the whole house now?

Hurr1cane · 27/09/2014 11:14

I had the last lot of Ferals for 6 weeks, in a room where the door wouldn't even close properly, and they were fine, never even lost one. Still have one here now. I feel so shit. Never doing this again.

OP posts:
Hurr1cane · 27/09/2014 11:17

I've checked the whole house but I'm going to go through everywhere and do a deep clean now so I'm hoping that may turn up something but to be honest I'm starting to lose all hope.

2 of us checked each room together one by one. It's not a big house. There's not loads of places to hide.

I really very much doubt the others would have eaten them. They were scared to even go near them. Feral kitten is only small, ones an old lady who is scared of her own shadow, so that leaves the ragdoll cat, who really is a gentle beast. And tabby cat, who isn't as pleasant to other cats but seemed scared of the kittens.
