Help! The kittens have disappeared!!!

Went out last night for 2 hours, before I went I fed the kittens and shut them in the living room.

I came home and looked for them, they're nowhere.

The living room door was still shut, but they were nowhere to be seen!

In my living room is a corner sofa. One chair, a TV and 2 Toy boxes and a fireplace. They aren't in any of them!!!

They are 4 orphaned/ dumped 6 week old kittens! How on earth have they vanished???? Where are they???

I've sat in there in the quiet and listened. No scratching. Now I've put food down and shut the door again hoping they'll eat then I'll know they're alive Sad but where on earth could they be!

But they do only stop growing at a few years old Smile

They're the most gorgeous cats

Thanks for you Hurr1cane.

When I was awake at times in the night I kept on worrying that Pepper would disappear down a plughole or something equally bizarre.

It'll be odd to day, no kittens, not even hidden kittens.

Hurr1cane · 29/09/2014 12:29

Hahaha I taped up all around the bath just in case she managed to scramble inside it

Can't find one without me in it Grin (We're inseparable and I'm a poser!)
But I've come to the decision that she looks like she's mostly fur and also has teeny tiny paws so its all very deceptive.

Hurr1cane · 29/09/2014 12:39

Aww bless her. Mine has huge paws, almost as big as my palm and he stretches them out like giant hands

I feel really unpopular now. I was getting loads of emails and texts about the kittens and now no one loves me anymore Grin

enriquetheringbearinglizard · 29/09/2014 13:38

It's the kind of empty nest syndrome I meant by saying it'll be odd today, it's a low point after the love, the fuss and the angst isn't it.
On the other hand, take a breather because you've earned it Smile

Hurr1cane · 29/09/2014 13:41

Empty nest syndrome Grin exactly! Although my nest is far from empty, 4 rescue cats, a child with autism, and the man is also here today talking at me about bicycles.

But no naughty kittens.

Well except Freya the feral but she's getting pretty big now.

Oh yes, I didn't mean empty empty, but the last time I saw a foster on his way I thoroughly embarrassed myself infront of the CP lady who took him away, I couldn't even say goodbye and was crying.
Mind you he had been here for about 8 months.

Hurr1cane · 29/09/2014 14:02

I know what you meant I just find it so strange how the mind works likes this.

Apparently pepper is happy sleeping on her new mum. Clearly it's just me she hated Grin

OP posts:
Mmmnotsure · 29/09/2014 14:31

Well, yes, I can see why she hated you:

Taking her in, feeding her, not wanting her stuck up a chimney. Honestly, have you no compassion?

I thought you were wise to be a witch up until the end, cleaning her up at your house. Now her new mum can be the goodie and hopefully they will live happily ever after.

wantacatplease · 29/09/2014 14:37

Is she in an only cat household now? Maybe she hated the other cats?

wantacatplease · 29/09/2014 14:37

I

PigletJohn · 29/09/2014 15:52

one of these will ventilate the chimney but keep pies out. If you start using a gas fire it should probably be fitted to the flue.

Hurr1cane · 29/09/2014 16:03

No I think there's two other cats there. But maybe she hated the fact that she was scared when she was caught and was passed to me howling and scratching and biting, I think she blamed me and never forgave me.

Now she's been washed hopefully she will love her new human who doesn't grab her out of chimneys, wash her and force bottles in her.

DayLillie · 29/09/2014 16:16

She had a scary start for a nervous kitten. Hopefully she will settle happily with her 'nicer' mum.

DayLillie · 29/09/2014 16:19

Also, there is no way of knowing what she went though before she was found.

LastingLight · 29/09/2014 16:21

Hurr1cane how long did you have them? Did you introduce them to your other cats at all?

Hurr1cane · 29/09/2014 16:42

I had them for a week. I was going to keep them together for longer like I normally do but it wasn't safe for them here with them being so independent and climbing up chimneys.

No I only introduced one to the resident kitten when she was the only one found because she was scared and lonely, but not when they were together. Most of mine dislike other cats. They only tolerate each other. It's only ragdoll and feral kitten who like each other.

So glad she's getting on with her new mummy!

Haha, in regards to raggie size in my house my oldest Raggie (3yo) is a small and dainty girl but my younger one (1yo) is built much more sturdily and already weighs more than her 'sister' (not by blood, just family Wink) so I guess even in big breeds there's the odd exception. Think my eldest is around 6.5-7lbs and my smallest was 7.5 at last time of weighing but probably about 8lbs now!

Hurr1cane · 29/09/2014 16:50

Little boy has settled well and is called bluey Smile

OP posts:
awsomer · 29/09/2014 17:08

Lovely!

Have you heard from the others?

Hurr1cane · 29/09/2014 17:27

Black and white girl he just said was fine.

Delilah I've had photo updates

Pepper has eaten, used her litter tray and had a stroke Smile

wantacatplease · 29/09/2014 17:40

Aww sounds great!

Jux · 29/09/2014 20:43

Oh that's so lovely. When I grow up I want to be like you, Hurr1cane!

We have a cat called Delilah too. She's not tabby; she is Basement Cat. Be afraid, be very afraid Hmm. Actually, she is dd' familiar.

I do want a Ragdoll, it's the only non-mog cat I have ever wanted. So I am well jell.
