Went out last night for 2 hours, before I went I fed the kittens and shut them in the living room.

I came home and looked for them, they're nowhere.

The living room door was still shut, but they were nowhere to be seen!

In my living room is a corner sofa. One chair, a TV and 2 Toy boxes and a fireplace. They aren't in any of them!!!

They are 4 orphaned/ dumped 6 week old kittens! How on earth have they vanished???? Where are they???

I've sat in there in the quiet and listened. No scratching. Now I've put food down and shut the door again hoping they'll eat then I'll know they're alive Sad but where on earth could they be!

I doubt that unfortunately. Other cats aren't impressed at all by their presence. One of them is asleep is DSs bed, one is on my dressing gown and two are sat on the trampoline

I was going yo say ribbon on a bamboo cane - it works brilliantly under and behind furniture and yes, I am sure you could get it into the fire. Hope you find them soon!

Hurr1cane · 27/09/2014 09:38

The floor is just laminate with no holes. They couldn't have got in there. How the fuck have all 4 of them just disappeared??? There's 4 and one is very vocal and one is scared stiff.

I've done the toy in the fire, shone a torch in it and listened silently. Nothing. DS gets home at tea time and then it'll be so loud I'll not find them at all.

The noise you've been making looking for them may have scared them. This has happened to every kitten owner. Put down plates of tuna in strategic locations and sit quietly reading for at least an hour, two if you can manage. They need a quiet calm environment to get the courage to come out.

Hurr1cane · 27/09/2014 09:39

They usually just hide under the sofa or behind the sofa cushions.

Ones supposed to be going tomorrow. This is the last time I take in abandoned kittens. This is horrible

If they are stuck somewhere they will start being noisey once they wake up hungry.

HesterShaw · 27/09/2014 09:48

We had two spend the night under the massive unit in the lounge. They somehow squeezed underneath.

The must be somewhere and you'll hear them or see them soon x

Hurr1cane · 27/09/2014 09:50

Won't they starve??

FannyFifer · 27/09/2014 09:50

Oh god, I hope they turn up, where the hell can they be. X

18yearstooold · 27/09/2014 09:51

Have you checked all of your shoes?

purplemeggie · 27/09/2014 09:52

Did they turn up?

Hurr1cane · 27/09/2014 09:52

Shoes are in the hall but I'll go look now. I don't see how they could have escaped? The living room door was definitely shut last night.

Someone up thread mentioned heat seeking equipment? Can you call RSPCA / non emergency fire service / local cat rescue and get some help out to you?

justaweeone · 27/09/2014 09:56

I think the living room door may not have been shut and they are elsewhere in the house.

Hurr1cane · 27/09/2014 09:57

I've checked the kitchen and pulled off all the kick boards and shone a torch behind them. Not there.

How strange Confused

You need to go through the room methodically, my guess would be in the sofa somewhere or a gap in walls/ floor boards.

Hope they turn up soon.

QueenFuri · 27/09/2014 09:58

I had to call the fire service the day we got out kitten she got spooked and went behind the washer and got stuck behind a kitchen cupboard. But if your not sure where they are they might not come out I would give them a call though. I really hope you find them soon. Have you looked under stairs, in kitchen behind ,kick-boards just in the off chance they have gotten out the living room?

BBQsAreSooooOverrated · 27/09/2014 09:58

Strange all 4 have gone missing. Hope you find them. My kitten is usually under the coffee table when he hides, it's only a 2.5"gap too.

Castlemilk · 27/09/2014 10:02

I'ts quite likely that they got out of the sitting room and are in hiding somewhere.

I'd start upstairs and do a THOROUGH search, shutting each door behind me once a room was finished!

You will find them I'm sure, don't worry.

Alonglongway · 27/09/2014 10:04

There's a free Go Cat app with a range of noises on it - couple of those used to bring mine out when they were tiny - might be worth a try

justaweeone · 27/09/2014 10:06

Any bags lying about? Check there

KatieKaye · 27/09/2014 10:07

My rescue cat used to get into the smallest spaces despite his size. Fave place was behind the boards at the back of the kitchen unit underneath the sink. Try looking there?
