Need urgent advice for a tiny kitten!

I've rescued a kitten who has been rejected by it's mum. It was one of two, Mum took the bigger one and never returned. Poor little thing was calling for her all yesterday and it broke my heart keeping my distance but today it started to go very quiet and shakey so I've taken it in. I know nothing about kittens no idea how old it is (fits easily into my hand, massive eyes and ears, very skinny wobbly legs that look a bit too long for its little body). I've given it tiny drops of milk from a syringe (sp?) prob takes 1ml at a time before it starts to refuse. What do I do (mostly regarding feeding but other advice would be much appreciated)? Live abroad so no shelters or rescue homes so I'm on my own with this one.

cooooo, just seen your cats Sparkling! So pretty!

LST · 04/05/2012 19:35

sparkling I do that all the time Sad

JustFab · 04/05/2012 19:38

Oh, do you really want to know????? Grin

She chased her tail over and over and over and then bit her foot several times. This might not seem that big a deal but the last time she was seen chasing her tail she was fitting Sad and she hasn't played like that for ages GrinGrinGrin.

She has also ripped up a lot of paper including DS2's Lego catalogue. I would send chocolate brownies pay good money to know why she is doing it.

Sparklingbrook · 04/05/2012 19:39

It's the same cat Pinot but she looks black in the top picture. Grin She is so beautiful. I am a bit protective because our previous cat went missing after we had had her for 2 months, and a week later she was found dead. Sad
So poor Sparkling Cat gets fussed over something terrible. Smile

Pinot · 04/05/2012 19:39

She's got the minx in her, that one :)

3littlebadgers · 04/05/2012 19:40

Ok I'm upping her milk to every 90 mins and I managed to squeeze 5mls down her but it was a wee battle towareds the end. She is snuggled up to my boob and purring like a good'un. Still no poo! Gosh it's like having a real baby Grin

How's the kittie doing?? so love cats (never had a kitten though) just aquired a stray cat that pretended to be all sweet until her paws were under the table and then her demanding nature appeared once she knew we were hooked Grin suckers

Pinot · 04/05/2012 19:42

Yay! The more skin contact she gets the better. Enjoy it, really - this stage doesn't last long at all and it's so amazing and you're so lucky. I'd swap places in a heartbeat.

Ratbagcatbag · 04/05/2012 19:42

Not only just, as in lately - as in I just aquired stray cat- that's obviously what I meant right!! Grin

Gives up!!!

I once had to nurse my mum's cat down my bra overnight when she was 7 weeks old. She had got covered in anti freeze or something in a neighbours garage and the vet washed her in fairy liquid and when we went to pick her up she hadn't been dried properly, was sitting in an open cage on a cold windowsill (it was November), with no heatpad or any fabric except a thin teatowel in the cage. Poor little thing was not drinking anything and was so cold I tucked her in my bra and sat up all night with her.

Ungrateful cow got very well quickly and refused to come near me for 6 years when she was back to normal

Normal for her at any rate.

Sparklingbrook · 04/05/2012 19:57

Thanks 3. Grin Aunty Sparkling.

3littlebadgers · 04/05/2012 19:59
