Dogs with human names

Martin. I just met a GSD called Martin.

Absolutely love dogs with human names but I think Martin for a GSD might be the best yet. Almost pipped by Gerald the Chihuahua.

Anyone else met any dogs with great human names?

There was a boy in my school called Rex.
(He was American)

My dog is Olive. I know a Gary, an Ernie and a Camilla. My previous dog was called Satin after Blackadder’s horse.

I’d like to have a snooty looking Siamese cat called Penelope.

I've met a dog called Jeff. And a cat called Richard, which I thought was hilarious.

That was one of my fave names to call my eldest son. I chose something else in the end but do occasionally think about that.

There’s a lovely Goldie local to us called Angie. I just can’t help hearing Mick Jagger in my head when her owners are calling her ‘Angie….Aaanngie’

I know a Charlie, Alfie (×2), Milo, Winnie, Lucy, lots of Lunas, Bellas. I name my dogs after places we go on holiday.

Our family dog growing up was rescued from Battersea and she answered to Sheena which caused some issues as it was the same as our next door neighbours name
We tried to change it but she wouldn’t have it so it stuck

I have a JRT called Dora and a good friend had a Yorkie called Brian .

I know a French bulldog called Claude, and I recently met a dog called Gary, both lovely 🥰

I knew a chihuahua called Ernie and a lovely chocolate lab called Geoff, a cocker called Betty, my dad pair are Arthur and Edith

Ernest and Marjorie. Cat and dog respectively.

I have Arthur who is a Stafford.

Funniest one was a cockerpoo called Deborah

I've tried to avoid human names for dogs after what happened over 40 years ago.

I had a dog I named Jessica, but my new husband always called her Jizz. I had no idea what that meant at the time and would often find myself calling her Jizz.

On Jessica's first visit to the vets, the vet asked me her name, and because I'd just heard him call his little daughter 'Jessica', I told him my dog's name was Jizz.

We locked eyes. He was a young handsome man back then.

I told him that's what my husband called her anyway. As he'd known my husband a number of years by then, and so he nodded knowingly, and wrote something down.

We're all in our 70's now and he's still our vet.

A friend has a rabbit called Jessica

I know someone with 2 cats called Ralph and Geraldine.

Ridiculous but they really suit their names.

I have a labrador called Walter (but call him Wally!)
I know a dachshund called Dirk!

I’ve met Dave , Steve and Nigel

A bit different but this has made me think of the dogs in Jilly Cooper books who were named after random place names picked out of the A-Z. I recall one called Sevenoaks!

I always have a chuckle at a little terrier called Alan when we bump into him on our walks!

My dog is called Carl.

Our Dog is called Robert but is Bob to his friends.

Mine is called Rupert but I dont know if that is a popular human name. My 12kg ginger cat is called Kevin. I love human names for animals.

My first Dog was called Stuart. It suited him absolutely perfectly.
