Dogs with human names

Martin. I just met a GSD called Martin.

Absolutely love dogs with human names but I think Martin for a GSD might be the best yet. Almost pipped by Gerald the Chihuahua.

Anyone else met any dogs with great human names?

I have a St Bernard called Betty and a yorkie called Mavis. My first dog was a GSD called Sally and then I had a pomeranian called Alan.

I heard someone calling out to Ethel, a collie type dog, which I thought was quite unusual but cute!

Lots of Willows and Teddies around where I live, but I’m guessing you’re thinking of more traditional
or classic names.

We have Bob, Ian and Frank around where I live.

Excellent names

Oh yes she was sassy. Sadly her owner went into a care home , Betty went to live with family and I see her sometimes strutting past like she owns the place😀

Our whippet is called Margot. Named after Margot Leadbetter, obvs.

I think Alan Carr used to have an Irish Setter called Bev?

DH was slightly confused when he met a chap with a DDog who had the same name as DH.

Human names on dogs are often funny, but there’s the most beautiful, gentle greyhound mix near us called Mary. I just love her, and her name suits her so perfectly!

We have a Dennis cat too (Dennis the Menace), a mini schnauzer called Lola & our son has a Jack Russell called Michael.
I think too each of them have grown into their names, totally suits them.

My beloved Jack Russell was called Eddie - he was so cool.

A colleague of mine had cats called Colin and Graham.

I met a golden retriever call Trevor on a beach in Cornwall last summer

The days of calling pets names like Fluffy and Socks are gone. They seem to all have human names now. Mine do.

I knew a Debbie.

We have a rottie called Kenny. Kenneth when he's in trouble.

There was a jack Russell at a pub I worked at called Dave 🤣

Going for an unpleasant medical procedure later today, but I'm cheered up and feeling better knowing I share the world with dogs called Alan!

I knew a Jack Russell called Steve, and labs Oscar and Basil. My granny's dog in the 70s was Susie. And I used to have a cat called Jake!

I know a Cockerpoo called Malcolm. It really suits him!

Our collie puppy has an "old lady" name.

I have a Lottie and a Dora. Never really think of them as human names though cuz they’re my dogs names 😆

Best I’ve come across is Hank!

I have a feisty little rescue poodle called Susan. Her canine brother is called Rufus. It’s helpful for us to have both names with an ‘oooo’, as when we call either name, both will come running (most of the time 😬) we often get complimented on what a lovely name Susan is by passers by.

I've recently met a big black goofy lab called Dave, two Wiemeraners (sp?) called Leonard and Stanley, a dachshund called Dot and a bulldog called Boris!

I've got a Matthew. Matty for everyday, Matthew for Sundays and when he's not behaving

He's a young rescue collie so the not behaving is quite frequent

All my rescue spaniels have come with human names-Chloe, Jenna, and my latest is Heidi. In contrast, the dogs we had from puppies we named Bracken and Clover.

I knew of a Frank, Charlie, Bonnie and my husband's Nan had a poodle called Jason, and another called Shelley!!
