Morning.

Just setting this up before the old one fills up.

For anyone new, this is a cafe where you can come, eat (calorie free) drink and be merry.

There are kittenbees in the café, which are kittens the size of bees, they are friendly but do nibble the pastries.

Outside are their larger 'cousins' the Bumblecats, they are not as friendly.

Leo is a Lemur who now runs the outdoor dog wash.

Florence is a French pastry chef, Fernando is a cocktail waiter.

Outside is a water feature and a petting zoo.

Hello! I'm just in here to hide from the news. I'll help myself to a honey and lemon 👋 to @sashh's dad x

MinnieMountain · 06/11/2024 07:33

Morning @sashh ‘s dad.

I’m going to ask Fernando to make Bee’s Knees cocktails. Seems appropriate for the cafe. Gin, lemon juice, orange juice and honey syrup.

And Florence is making madeleines.

ScottBakula · 06/11/2024 16:33

👋 to Mr @sashh .

It's cold and damp here so I am going to light the heaters outside and put a few jacket spuds in the embers of last night's bonfire .
I have fenced the fire off because Leo was looking like he wanted to try to cook eggs on it.

ScottBakula · 07/11/2024 06:02

Well there are a few jacket spuds left over so I have asked Florence to make some potatoe cakes and Leo is frying and poaching eggs to go with them .

MinnieMountain · 07/11/2024 06:23

Sounds tasty @ScottBakula . I’ll take some into the office whilst I have one. First redundancy meeting today. I can’t be arsed to fight it.

ScottBakula · 07/11/2024 06:57

You could ask Florence to add a something "special " to a couple of the cakes to give to the bosses . It won't help long term but short term stomach cramp may give you a little pleasure.

In all seriousness , if you want to fight it go in bloody minded and determined.
I manged to fight of redundancy 3 times but it was a heck of battle the 2nd time .

MinnieMountain · 07/11/2024 09:48

@ScottBakula I've actually got a very good case for being kept. I just don’t trust the company any more.

ScottBakula · 07/11/2024 12:44

I know that feeling the company I work for now ( that tried to make me redundant) are a bunch of lying sods . They promised all of us ( over 1000) new high end equipment, better contracts , more flexibility, better quality ppe and uniform etc . Absolutely none of this has happened, they have bought the cheapest equipment that keeps breaking down , everyone hrs have been cut some upto a ⅓ , lots have been made redundant, there is no flexibility. I could go on but you get my drift . I wish theyd be honest from the start so we all would of known where we stood.

sashh · 08/11/2024 06:14

Morning all. My dad is now safely home. We ate, drank (too much) had a trip to the theatre and my dad realised he forgot my birthday. Apparently he has my card written out at home ready to send.

We went to see 'come from away' it wasn't cheap but it was good.

So breakfast, well you have all looked after the café beautifully so I'm just going to put out the left overs.

Mozzarella pearls wrapped in basil and serrano ham. Duck legs with cherry sauce and vegetables. Limoncello desert. Leek and ham hock pie, orange cheese cake.

Oh and I did a 'pack up' so he didn't need to cook when he got home, so various cheeses with crackers, pork pie with onion relish, green salad, satsuma pieces and a miniature of port to go with the cheese.

ScottBakula · 09/11/2024 03:26

I am glad you and your dad had a good time @sashh .
It's good to get together with the ones you love.

Can I have the ham hock pie and a pack up for later please .

@MinnieMountain how did your meeting go?

sashh · 09/11/2024 05:11

Morning.

Well I am still recovering from my dad's visit so I'm keeping things simple. Ham, cheese, bread made by Florence and Fernando is serving port.

Leo, of course, is making eggs and is trying to train the kitten bees to deliver them, I suspect he knows how this will go and it gives him an excuse to wash them.

OP posts:
MinnieMountain · 09/11/2024 07:12

Could I have a ham and cheese omelette please @sashh ? Hopefully it won’t be too messy.

It was okay @ScottBakula . I fudged an answer about not wanting to work remotely as I just don’t want to work for them now but had to be polite. They understood.

ScottBakula · 10/11/2024 01:36

Morning all, anyone fancy a job thats core hrs are 7am 4pm yet gets a urgent call at 11pm ( not in the least urgent cafe doesn't to customers before 12pm on Monday ! )
Boss rants why can't I be there ? U.m cos the job will take 2 hrs so I will get there on monday ( 24 miles / no car . ) Feck off with msg on Saturday night.

And deep breath . . . . . . . .

@MinnieMountain so you don't want the job ???
If that's the case please let them know and official withdraw your application.
I have interviewed lots of people and would much rather know if they were doing it to stay on UC or just "looking around" it's so frustrating to have to go through applications that don't actually want the job.

ScottBakula · 10/11/2024 01:43

Please excuse the previous rant , the world is getting on my nerves this morning.

@sashh I will get Leo to take some alka selsa ( sp ?) to you .
Can I keep it simple this morning and just have strong cheese on toast please

MinnieMountain · 10/11/2024 05:16

You’ve misunderstood @ScottBakula . I’m going through a redundancy consultation for my current job.

Anyway, I’m going to move away from reality by playing with the kitten bees whilst drinking a nice big coffee.

sashh · 10/11/2024 08:43

Morning.

A bit of a late start today, sorry about that.

I'm going to make pakoras today, I think the kittenbees will find them easier to deliver, obviously there is chai to go with them.

Florence is making stuffed paratha, Leo is making spicy scrambled eggs and Fernando is serving Indian whiskey.

OP posts:
MinnieMountain · 10/11/2024 09:57

Morning @sashh .

A bit of everything please. Yum.

Sorry you’ve got such a shitty boss @ScottBakula .

sashh · 11/11/2024 04:50

Morning.

Well today I have bacon and egg muffins in the oven, Leo is insisting they need another egg on the side, it's up to you if you want to humour him.

If put out some yoghurt and fruit, but for extra cuteness serve yourself just the yoghurt and let the kittenbees deliver nuts and berries.

Florence has made shortbread and Fernando is making warm spiced cider.

OP posts:
sashh · 12/11/2024 04:56

Morning.

Well yesterday's offering wasn't popular so I'll give F and F a day off, I'll make toast and Leo will be making eggs to go on top.

OP posts:
sashh · 13/11/2024 06:42

Morning.

Wow another quiet day. I'm going to take a cup of tea to a wing back chair, give F and F a day off and send Leo to wash the animals in the petting zoo.

Why I let him watch Masterchef junior USA I do not know, he now wants to try cooking emu eggs.

OP posts:
Igglepigglesgrubbyblanket · 13/11/2024 07:30

I'll join you with a cup of tea @sashh . I've brought a load of Sunday supplements to read but they're from 2003 so should no danger of being contaminated with news.
