Just setting this up before the old one fills up.

For anyone new, this is a cafe where you can come, eat (calorie free) drink and be merry.

There are kittenbees in the café, which are kittens the size of bees, they are friendly but do nibble the pastries.

Outside are their larger 'cousins' the Bumblecats, they are not as friendly.

Leo is a Lemur who now runs the outdoor dog wash.

Florence is a French pastry chef, Fernando is a cocktail waiter.

Outside is a water feature and a petting zoo.

IRL I have arthritis so cast iron is a no no.

So it is damp and dark this morning I think we need something warming so a big pot of porridge is on its way. Florence is making fruity flapjacks to nibble on the side (please watch out for the kittenbees) Leo is, obviously, cooking eggs, convent this time and Fernando is making mulled wine.

@sashh I did not know that about cast iron! I'll have to pass that info on...I'm sorry IRL you suffer with arthritis...it can be so painful.
The porridge sounds like just the thing to warm us up. May I have a bowl, please...with some crusty bread, too?

Opoh a bowl of porridge would be very nice , I only got home from work a short while ago and cba cooking ( irl I have a tescos frozen pizza in the oven )

I have some ginger simple syrup if anyone would like some in their porridge.

Cast iron is very heavy so I agree with you @sashh it's hard to manhandle , I have a buggered wrist so I have to go carful how I lift it.

I am buggered tho , I normally enjoy working the later shifts but I have been carpet cleaning all this week and iv had enough !

I'm feeling better today, I was really tired yesterday, so tired I just put the trick or treater's sweets outside with a few fake candles (that are still going strong this morning).

I feel a bit silly being upset, it was my birthday this week and only my carer remembered. I know I'm not a child anymore but that and feeling under the weather just put a damper or things.

Anyway I think we all deserve a fry up, so Leo will be making various eggs of course, I'm frying bacon, Lorne, tomatoes, mushrooms, black pudding, potato cakes, bubble and squeak and of course baked beans on the side.

Florence is making toast and sandwiches for a pack up and Fernando is making creamy cocktails.

The kittenbees are rehearsing a dance for some reason, I'm just leaving them to it.

It's DS’s birthday this week too, so if it doesn’t put Florence’s nose out of joint I’ll bring an extra lemon drizzle to the cafe.

Thank you for the good wishes. My dad is visiting next week, he will be mortified when he realises.

Anyway cold and dark again so a beef stew in the slow cooker for later and food flasks for anyone who wants to take it as bait.

For breakfast, well there won't be any eggs until Leo gets back so I think breakfast butties are in order, bacon, sausages of various types and baked beans if you a bit weird.

Morning. Well it looks like hearty pack ups are in order so I'm going to make a chucky veg soup, Florence is making sourdough to go with it.

For breakfast lets have a lighter but luxurious breakfast.

Leo is scrambling eggs with smoked salmon, there are bagels with salmon and cream cheese, There is finely sliced ham, buttered kippers and a large chaffing dish of kedgeree (which could also be taken as bait).

Fernando is making rum cocktails, try a Cuba libre.

Happy birthday for last week @sashh ! I've just baked a chocolate and chestnut cake, which you can have for your birthday cake if you like. It's very gooey.
Hope everyone is doing good. I'd love a bagel with cream cheese and crispy bacon if there's any going and one or two of Fernando's Cuba libres.

OK Breakfast, it's cold and wet so I thought I would take inspiration from Greenland.

So I started researching and I have decided NOT to serve whale, seal or guillemots.

So Florence is making brown and white bread rolls. There is rhubarb jam to go on the bread and a selection of cheese and cold meats.

Leo of course is making eggs, a word of warning, today they might not be hen's eggs.
