Anyone excited for the final season of Succession? *Spoiler alert*

The trailer has just been released and I can’t wait!

It’s probably my favourite programme atm so it’s a shame it’s ending but I’d rather that than it getting repetitive and dragged out.

I think that whoever ‘wins’ it will be a pyrrhic victory, I can’t see a happy ending or if there is the company will have been destroyed.

What I'm expecting to happen is the kids take all their money from the sale of Waystar, plough it into Pierce and then Pierce tanks, and they're down to their last 100 million or some equally unimaginably low figure.

That said - these people never put their own money at risk, they just play off investors against each other. And I still think Logan is going to pull out of the sale just because he's a contrary old bastard and wants to win against his kids.

There's something particularly chilling about the way the election is talked about as if it's already happened. Logan has decided the winner. It's only mentioned in passing as if it's fairly trivial.

It would be hilarious though if Logan did give all his money to Connor. He is the first-born son, after all.

Oh - it occurs to me we haven’t had sight of Greg’s staggeringly handsome grandpa yet. He didn’t die, did he? Last I remember he’d disinherited Greg … I liked him best so hope he comes back to add more disruption soon.

I think that Logan wants his children to stand on their own feet but he also wants them where he can control them. He wants them to stand up to him and tell him to fuck off but he also hates it when they don’t do as told. His children cannot win with him because he keeps changing the goal posts. He will never be happy with any of them.

It could end with Logan dead, his children happily running different parts of his business and the neo nazi guy not elected. But Logan is exactly the kind of guy who would rather destroy everything than lose control.

The bag thing was great - I think she had brought it as a status prop but it instantly marked her out. I saw an interview with Kieran Culkin when he said the characters never need to wear coats (unless actually out for a walk) because they just move from car to building to plane .. their environment is always at the perfect temperature. And likewise they would never carry a bag for their stuff because someone does that for them / they can leave it in the car between appointments.

They don't have phone cases either- why would they care if they broke their iPhone? Like replacing a broken hairclip for them.

I just listened to Grace Dent's podcast Comfort Eating, with Georgia Pritchett, and she was talking about the Thanksgiving ep she wrote when she was given a really hard time by the 'wealth consultant' because she'd written things about Marcia saying the turkey was ready etc, when in reality she'd never have even been in the kitchen!

I'm also fascinated by the fact Shiv and Roman might be twins, lots of fan theories on this one but it's never been be confirmed or denied by writers.

I read that they were intended to be twins and the pilot suggests that but by the time the series proper had started they’d changed the set up. Shiv is actually the youngest- I’d thought it was Roman.

I had half convinced myself that Roman has a different mother from Shiv and Kendall? I thought he was from a third marriage, I wonder why? I definitely didn't realise Shiv was the youngest. Kieran Culkin is 5 years older than Sarah Snook in reality.
