Are we really on a new thread already! Only seems like 5 minutes since the last one began.

Sarah is still in prison/on remand, (for killing Theo,) and is toughening up in there now, hanging onto snooker balls in a sock to hit someone with! One of the prisoners in there has been threatening her and her family if Sarah doesn't get Kit to help her son who is in trouble. (But Sarah has dumped Kit!)

Ma Driscoll has been getting jiggy with Brian! Ollie is in trouble for having a go at Gary's son who appeared to be assaulting Christina when she was drunk on the floor.

Tim reconnected with a cousin he hadn't seen for several decades, (Richie) who went on to kill his wife, and now Tim and Sally are looking after his daughter, and Lou and Mick's girls are back with Tim and Sally too!

We haven't seen much of Debbie lately - or Summer, which is a shame, but plenty of mardy Todd who hates the world right now.

Bernie's aunt has just turned up in the form of glamourous actress Frances Barber, and has only a few weeks to live. So she is hoping Todd can help her with a Dolly Parton themed funeral. R.I.P lovely Dolly! ❤

I know right. I had to go to a consultant for something last year, and have a scan, and I didn't even tell my DH. (I know many people would, but I prefer to deal with stuff alone,) and I didn't want to tell him anything until I knew the result. which fortunately was a solid negative.

I didn't want him and my DC all worrying until there was actually something to worry about. I cope better when I just do it alone, at least for a little while, as I am good at compartmentalising things. And I HATE being fussed over, and although he would mean well, I didn't want DH going 'there, there you'll be OK,' and 'it'll be all right, you'll be FINE,' and 'you don't need to worry,' and 'you're not dwelling on this too much are you?'

DH is a good man and I love him, but the fussing over me would have been too much, whilst I was trying to process it myself.... It would have done my head in - people fussing and 'it'll be okay-ing' even if they meant well.

I would very likely have needed support if the scan had been positive, but yeah, I didn't want my whole family around me at the hospital, I preferred to just sit waiting quietly with my book, and going in alone.

Same with when I was having my DC. I only wanted DH there, yet on TV/in soap operas, the whole extended family, and half the street is there on the Maternity Wing, when the woman is about to have the baby!

I think this is what Kit did isn’t it? And I think maybe Debbie at the start of her dementia. So they do show both, but I can’t recall any ‘middle’ scenarios where someone just goes with one person for support. Probably happens but it doesn’t make for a story I guess.

Also, we had a Tressy, always weirded me out. Short curly hair with a long straight bit from the middle of the top of her head.

LesserSpottedCharacter · 22/09/2026 11:18

There are just too many illness plots on corrie right now. Debbie's dementia, Betsy's Stroke, Sam's schizophrenia ... I have probably forgotten some

It's the Corrie way 😉

I inherited my sister's doll without the hair. I only discovered a year or two back her name wasn't Tracy.

Yeah, I think you're right about them either going alone to the specialist/hospital, or with 12 people. 😆

Also, I remember the weird curly hair with the straight pony tail that went into/came out of the back of the head on the dolls. And the button on the belly. Creepy! 😬

Ernie suits Bernie so much better. She'll be Ernie forever now to me.

Bloody failing keyboard! Sorry!

I noticed that too, and thought it was deeply odd and unprofessional. My friend has a certain condition/illness, and when she was at Church (about 2 years ago now) the head GP from the surgery saw her in the Church after the service.

He asked her how her condition was, and if the latest meds she'd been on were working out OK. With at least 5 or 6 people in earshot nearby. She said she felt so uncomfortable and embarrassed that she didn't go to Church for a month. Very unprofessional I think, even though he meant well.

Very unprofessional.

I work as a mental health nurse based mainly in a&e. I occasionally see patients from my town. On one occasion I did see someone in town I’d previously assessed. I said hi, and admired his dog. When I saw him in the hospital I recognised him from when he worked in a local pub where he’d made a fuss of my dog. That’s my get out clause if anyone was to ask how I knew him.

My mum had a Tressy doll in the 60s that had hair that "grew"
Then in the 90s I had a Katie doll who did the same. She was marketed as being Tiny Tears' older sister.

Yes Sheena in purple trouser suit (I think) and Tressy

i had both

Bless Brodie asking for a hug.

TheSunIsAlwaysThere · 22/09/2026 20:56

Surely she's not pregnant?

NCTDN · 22/09/2026 20:57

Who?

TheSunIsAlwaysThere · 22/09/2026 20:58

Chrissie. Her name escaped me.

I wouldn't have thought so. (That Chrissy is pregnant.) She's 55!

I did laugh when Tim and Sally saw that picture Lucy had painted of her mum, and Sally said it was like The Scream by Edvard Munch, and Tim said 'I was thinking more like McCauley Culkin in Home Alone.' 😆

We know who killed Lucy's mum now then. 👀

I do hope that Tim was actually awake and heard that

Good episode, all focussed on impact of adult/older children (eg Kit, Brodie, Lucy, George (father like to Todd), mention of Daisy) along with loneliness of not having those children to worry about (eg Kirk, Mary, Glenda etc.)

zanahoria · 23/09/2026 06:50

There was a nice scene with Lucy and Tim, I think that was the first time she has actually had a conversation with someone. They should have had more of that and less shouting before the predictable reveal that she killed her mum.

It makes me laugh that we now have Sal talking about 'the girls' being upstairs after they have been on sleepovers, holidays etc

Me too. 😀

I like Sally & Tim. I’d definitely miss those too if they ever left.

so what’s going on with Crissy I wonder?
she looked very thoughtful ( sad even ) when George was talking children and wondering what it would have been like if he’d had any.

Chrissy had just come from comforting Bernie in the shop (really shit scene sequence as it was literally the scene before and then she was miraculously home with George) so presumably Bernie had told her about Kit and that is why she was looking so thoughtful with George 🤷🏻‍♀️

That's why I wondered if she was pregnant. I didn't know she's meant to be 55.

I had forgotten about Daisy.
