CORONATION STREET THREAD. The rain's finally here, and the heatwave summer is over! (Probably!) It's Autumn 2026! **No spoilers please.**

Are we really on a new thread already! Only seems like 5 minutes since the last one began.

Sarah is still in prison/on remand, (for killing Theo,) and is toughening up in there now, hanging onto snooker balls in a sock to hit someone with! One of the prisoners in there has been threatening her and her family if Sarah doesn't get Kit to help her son who is in trouble. (But Sarah has dumped Kit!)

Ma Driscoll has been getting jiggy with Brian! Ollie is in trouble for having a go at Gary's son who appeared to be assaulting Christina when she was drunk on the floor.

Tim reconnected with a cousin he hadn't seen for several decades, (Richie) who went on to kill his wife, and now Tim and Sally are looking after his daughter, and Lou and Mick's girls are back with Tim and Sally too!

We haven't seen much of Debbie lately - or Summer, which is a shame, but plenty of mardy Todd who hates the world right now.

Bernie's aunt has just turned up in the form of glamourous actress Frances Barber, and has only a few weeks to live. So she is hoping Todd can help her with a Dolly Parton themed funeral. R.I.P lovely Dolly! ❤

Thank you for the new thread.
I zoned out watching tonight's effort I'm afraid.

Deadringer · 27/08/2026 22:35

Thanks for the new thread!

Thanks for new thread 🧵 !

Illjusthavethebreadsticks · 28/08/2026 07:20

Feel sorry for Lucy. As if a victim of trauma would be placed with a couple who already have troubled kids being fostered. A specialist placement would have happened surely.

FeltCarrot · 28/08/2026 08:10

I had more fun unravelling a half knitted jumper than watching Corrie last night.

AmusedMaker · 28/08/2026 08:46

Thank you for new thread 😊

HaddyAbrams · 28/08/2026 08:49

Checking in. The last thread seemed to fly by. It's definitely more entertaining than the actual programme.

JewelleryCat · 28/08/2026 09:11

New thread! Thank you! Also, the heatwaves can go but the promised thunderstorms didn’t happen, rain did though

zanahoria · 28/08/2026 09:14

So sick of all the prison twaddle, especially Waynetta the bad girl.

Now Ollie is banging on about going to prison now.

Please make them stop

Oooooh, we had some corkers in the midlands. Really good thunderstorms..The crashes and bangs were really loud yesterday. 3 or 4 big storms over the afternoon and evening yesterday. And the lightning was amazing! A proper light show. Grin

So so tired of this being a crime/ police drama now, Weatherfield is heading for the head count on Midsomer murders

Thanks for the new thread

Waynetta 😂😂😂 That's who she reminded me of

I hate really big bangs, I like the rumbles in the distance but I bet that was amazing to watch! Did it clear the air?

WhatATimeToBeAlive · 28/08/2026 09:52

It's truly dire at the moment. All the characters are just so unlikeable and getting on my nerves. When does Lauren ever see Freddie, and who is looking after him while she's at work/dating/scowling?

LesserSpottedCharacter · 28/08/2026 10:36

Checking in, thank you @SabreIsMyFave 🤗

Oh dear, Gary and his breaking up Yorkshire stone tool 😄

JohnBullshit · 28/08/2026 11:20

New thread! Lovely.
Oh, Sarah. Somebody is going to come a cropper with that snooker ball weapon. Sarah herself, or Waynetta? Too early to call.

LesserSpottedCharacter · 28/08/2026 12:19

Sarah's nails are looking in good shape, despite her location.

I was watching an episode of The Duchess of Duke Street last night and Sue Nicholls was in it, playing a hairdresser 😀

JewelleryCat · 28/08/2026 12:26

Speaking of Sue Nicholls, will Audrey ever be coming back or is she going to be like Eileen Derbyshire? Taking a break but in reality she’s left and not said anything?

It did actually. A bit. We had 95% humidity in the early afternoon, and a couple of thunderstorms then, and it seemed to feel worse. (Humidity was still over 90% after them!) I think that's because more thunderstorms were brewing! Then we got several storms over a few hours late afternoon/early evening, that went on for several hours, and it felt much fresher after them!

Humid again today though! Although not as bad - Just checked, and it's 77%. Temperature is 20C right now. Does feel a bit clammy, but not as bad as it has been a few times this summer! (More than a few times actually!) 😬

The temperature got to 22C yesterday, so with the 90-95% humidity it felt very uncomfortable!

Perhaps because she is blood relative of Tim’s. They usually prefer to place with family.

I would normally agree with this, but Tim and Sally are complete strangers to Lucy. Tim hadn't seen Richie (his cousin - Lucy's dad) for about 30 years. Tim had never met Lucy and didn't know she existed.

If people haven’t seen my post on the other thread, I’ve seen a trailer earlier on ITV about what’s coming up in Corrie, just to warn you

But that would be same if they placed her in another foster home wouldn’t it. They would be complete strangers too. At least Tim is relative and more likely to bond. I think this is how it would be irl.

Freysimo · 28/08/2026 16:50

I can't imagine anyone bonding with Lucy, she's so unlikeable. Yet another stroppy teen.

But the thing is, if they have put her with Sally and Tim because they are 'family' that's odd in this situation, (IMO) because she doesn't know them from Adam, and they are strangers. I can't imagine any child or teen bonding with anyone who shares a bit of DNA if they didn't know the 'relative' existed before they met them. She had never met them before she got to their house to stay with them. Lucy may as well have just been fostered by strangers.

I guess they could have thought 'her dad's cousin fostering her is a good idea' but IMO that would only have been OK if Lucy knew they even existed before she met them.

JMO. Smile
