The last thread filled up quickly! (2 weeks!) Shows Coronation Street is gaining popularity again. (It has improved quite a bit lately!)

R.I.P. Billy Mayhew.

Todd continues to be manipulated by Theo, Summer has done some stellar sobbing (that's brought me to tears!) and it seems there's no-one to help poor Todd.

Not much has been seen of The Driscolls for a while. after the tragedy around Corriedale, and Billy the vicar dying. (I'm sure they're about somewhere!)

Lisa (Swain) is being manipulated by Undead Becky now, (from prison) and she's threatening to 'take her down with her' if she doesn't have her back! Not sure Carla wants Lisa back anyway after Lisa slept with Becky!

Poor Debbie is all over the place, trying desperately to defend evil Carl who has stolen from her, cheated on Abi, and caused all kinds of destruction with a car, (twice - and both times he's got away with it!)

Shona and David's new baby is in hospital for a while after being born prematurely, and Shona's sister has appeared suddenly! I guess we'll learn more about her, and why she and Shona have not seen each other for some years.

Sorry if I've left anything out. I'm sure we'll all catch up soon.

I think I just have sympathy for Bernie because she's lost Paul and Billy and they are showing her grief quite well. I had no sympathy at all when during Paul's storyline when she nicked something and got sent to jail, and we were all supposed to feel sorry for her missing his last Christmas. Nope, entirely your own fault.

I agree she is a bit like Abi, she's very 'strong minded' and self-justifying.

She was a terrible mother during her Rave days so why default back to it?

It wouldn't feel odd after drinking a vat of wine and whatever drugs it was she took.

I don't have a huge amount of patience with her as I said, but she IS a victim here, she lost her son and then son in law. None of that had anything to do with her crapness as a mother.

I suppose Mal was staying there because his wife is having an affair and he's left her (so the story goes). But doubtless he is some kind of weird stalkery villain so there will be another reason...

@zanahoria whatever Mal's story is, it won't make sense!

He did exactly the same to Asha - just goes on and on at them, seemingly incapable of reading the signs and listening to what they are saying. End result is that it drives the loved one away. Are people actually like this IRL? I find it a bit excruciating to watch, tbh...

I’m not a Bernie fan either. Hate her and Dev together (they should both go off to India!). I thought she fitted better with Mr Alice than Dev.

Mal seemed to be someone who could do the cheeky chappie routine , but isn’t what he seems.
I read up about her and Dev today. He has had a string of affairs hasnt he! Tracy was one. I can’t see her with him.

I was also thinking of how he treated Asha and drove her away with his overbearing, patronising, almost fake looking sympathy. I'd have told him to fuck off too.

Bernie was worse with Asha, she made it all about herself - trying to take down Naomi and be the hero when the poor girl just wanted some support. Asha even told her that but Bernie just carried on regardless

Whoever 'Mal' is, I'm sure he will end up shagging Barry Chuckle Carl. 😆

Yeah, Bernie was an absolute PITA when Asha was struggling after that horrible racist woman attacked her. She wanted her to let it be, and she went in, all guns blazing!
