It's snowy, chilly, January (2026.) CORONATION STREET THREAD. **No spoilers please.**

SabreIsMyFave · 09/01/2026 22:12

The last thread filled up quickly! (2 weeks!) Shows Coronation Street is gaining popularity again. Smile (It has improved quite a bit lately!)

R.I.P. Billy Mayhew. Flowers

Todd continues to be manipulated by Theo, Summer has done some stellar sobbing (that's brought me to tears!) and it seems there's no-one to help poor Todd.

Not much has been seen of The Driscolls for a while. after the tragedy around Corriedale, and Billy the vicar dying. (I'm sure they're about somewhere!)

Lisa (Swain) is being manipulated by Undead Becky now, (from prison) and she's threatening to 'take her down with her' if she doesn't have her back! Not sure Carla wants Lisa back anyway after Lisa slept with Becky!

Poor Debbie is all over the place, trying desperately to defend evil Carl who has stolen from her, cheated on Abi, and caused all kinds of destruction with a car, (twice - and both times he's got away with it!)

Shona and David's new baby is in hospital for a while after being born prematurely, and Shona's sister has appeared suddenly! I guess we'll learn more about her, and why she and Shona have not seen each other for some years.

Sorry if I've left anything out. I'm sure we'll all catch up soon. Smile

Oh. Was that Dr Harper sleeping in the room with Bernie?

Gingercar · 29/01/2026 20:48

This is a very tedious episode!
That hotel is just a knocking shop!
And Bernie’s hairpiece really irritates me. It’s like one of those shower sponge things!

Thistooshallpass. · 29/01/2026 20:59

What was that episode ?! So Roy’s pen pal mystery is just a device to bring the husband into the story with Bernie ?!

AmusedMaker · 29/01/2026 21:02

Crikey - not sure what to make of that episode..

1reason · 29/01/2026 21:09

That was a bizarre episode! Started with a flashback of Bernie about to leave Mal's hotel room , then the time leading up to it and ended with real time ( I think) - Bernie collapsed in club toilet.
Who is Mal?
Is he really married to Alice ( the former prisoner Roy was writing to)?

Or is he Alice??
Confused!

thenightsky · 29/01/2026 21:09

And drinks are on the house again in the Rovers. FFS. Its every other day. They'll be out of business by Easter.

zanahoria · 29/01/2026 21:21

I thought it was a brilliant episode and some superb acting. Bernie is coming across as a well rounded character and that is rare in modern soaps.

thenightsky · 29/01/2026 21:27

How did Bernie get from the hotel room to the club toilet?

1reason · 29/01/2026 21:32

@thenightsky
I am not sure about that either!
Or was she in the club toilet first, and then went to Chariot Square and met Mal at the bar?
Will maybe find out tomorrow in another flashback.

Gingercar · 29/01/2026 21:45

I presume that she went clubbing once she left the hotel room and that’s where she collapsed?

Andepeda · 29/01/2026 21:47

Silly, contrived episode all about Bernie. Awful.

I will flash forward and watch it then flashback and tell everyone

Shellingbynight · 29/01/2026 21:52

I sort of enjoyed that episode. I didn't quite understand how she got to the club toilet but Corrie do like mucking around with timelines nowadays.

Bernie’s hair looks seriously weird nowadays, that blond bun is so obviously stuck on with no effort to make it look like her actual hair.

Nothing good ever comes of going to the sex hotel, you’d think they’d know that by now. Mal seemed genuinely when he was talking about 'Alice' to Bernie. But he’s going to be a villain because every new character is a villain, do we really need yet another one roaming the Street?

If Ma Driscoll was always like she was in today’s episode she’d be an okay character. A shame they made her a panto villain.

the80sweregreat · 29/01/2026 22:08

I liked how Ryan told them to turn the music down , but nobody did. I thought he was going to turn it down himself.

zanahoria · 29/01/2026 22:12

I liked Ryan in it as he is someone who has been there too with the whole drugs and rave scene

Although these days he is the hotel playing piano muzak and getting upset about the noise

Nevermind17 · 29/01/2026 22:16

When did they score the drugs? She went out, got pissed in the Rovers, left the Rovers, went to Chariot Square where she met Mal and sat at the bar drinking and being a pain, went upstairs to the room, had a rave, polished off the mini-bar, went and bought drugs, took them, lay spaced off her tits on the bed for a bit before having a heart to heart with Mal, got upset and got kicked out by Ryan. Presumably she then went on to the club alone.

At the same point that Ryan chucked her out the girls were back at Dev’s with kebabs. That would be kicking out time at the Rovers which wouldn’t have been late. Did she manage to do all that in about 2 hours, or am I overthinking?

SabreIsMyFave · 29/01/2026 22:17

Not sure what to make of that episode either! It was very Bernie centric. But how strange that she ended up in a hotel with the guy who decked Roy! Confused

And Daniel saw her, and despite her saying 'nothing happened' half a dozen times, he doesn't believe her.

And then she's unconcious in the public toilets at the end?

Why? Was it the tablet she took?

Weird episode.

It was, but maybe we’re forgetting this is Corrie where they have Karaoke nights and pub quizzes and all meet in the pub for drinks at 3 in the afternoon on a Wednesday when it’s still broad daylight in December. Maybe the whole thing actually lasted 12 hours, and started at 2pm. 🤷🏻‍♀️

Edited

She mentioned buying the drugs from the Dog and Gun

as far as I can work out her itinerary was

Rovers

Dog and Gun

Debbie Webster's hotel bar

Club

that is some night

NCTDN · 29/01/2026 22:29

I have no idea what happened in that episode! Couldn’t work out the order of events.

SabreIsMyFave · 29/01/2026 22:36

It was a bit trippy wasn't it @NCTDN ?!

OP posts:
sorryIdidntmeanto · 29/01/2026 22:37

I don't think she bought the drugs the same night. I think she already had them.

zanahoria · 29/01/2026 22:37

"tell me about your dead son"
was a particularly strange line
