Gutted. Amandaland

Am I the only person to feel totally gutted / disappointed / sad … at Amandaland Christmas special ? … I LOVE all the motherland and ALand episodes and this was just awful. Or is that just me?

Absolutely loved it as did everyone else in the room -it was a bit contrived but all Christmas Specials have to find some daft excuse for everyone getting together on Xmas day.

We laughed out loud too. I was relieved as The Ghost Story yesterday was so disappointing.
Probably helps that we know a few people like the Jennifer Saunders character as well.

Maybe they couldn’t get the full cast together for a Christmas special, I’d rather have an episode like tonight than none at all. I love motherland and Amandaland and there’s nothing else like it.

Love Jennifer S and Joanna L back together but it was a bit silly and too slapstick for me. Some fun moments but all a bit over the top. I did really like the series though so will see what the next one is like

Really disappointing. Not a massive tv fan but love Amandaland. This was just trying too hard. I had to check the credits to see if the writers were the same. Obviously having an off day.

Well, I liked it. Prefer Motherland, on the whole, but couldn't see anything wrong with this as a Christmas special.

too short! I enjoyed it but then again, Amanda’s Christmas “happy place” reminds me of a relative, so bonus laughs for me.

I watched the second one which is funny but then also depressing with marion. The first one is definitely the best one

It was alright, though generally not a fan of Amandaland however we nearly died laughing at the joke/trivia gag. It's the small things...

We enjoyed it, it didn't have loads of laugh out loud moments but neither does Amandaland really but it was nice and better than fucking Mrs browns boys, how the hell is that still on tv

I agree. It was disappointing.

I was looking forward to the "Mandy" (Diane Morgan) Christmas special but it was taken off air until next year.

It was disappointing. I laughed once and thought the whole mock jagger thing was ridiculous.

I thought it was very good but not as good as other Amandaland episodes. One thing I find very hard to swallow is that Anne has four kids but only Darius ever gets mentioned. Considering Motherland was all about the child care conundrum, it's weird that her younger kids have been blurred out completely.

It was so so bad!!!

We actually shouted out loud ‘is that it’ when it finished! I couldn’t believe that was it. We didn’t laugh once.

It wasn't as funny as the series ( at least the last few episodes which were great) but it was well done and JS was great. I think i need to rewatch.
