Seen a few photos online of Ben and co with handcuffs on. He looked so different and Dh was adamant it wasn’t him at first. Lost a lot of weight..

I'm just catching up on the comments.

I suppose Howie did steal Vincent’s wallet didn’t he? That is how he was introduced. But it is prompted by Kim being absolutely horrible to him, I can’t really understand why she has switched except ‘plot reasons’.

The Joel actor is brilliant, so good at switching between charm, childish crying and absolute evil. He has a great future (unlike Joel!)

I thought Vicki was completely hypocritical last night (haven’t seen today’s yet) when she had a go at Ross about Joel. It was Vicki who paid off his victim, of course he isn’t going to bloody well learn!

I thought Callum and Stuart hated their Dad. He was violent and abusive

Callum’s dad was horrible , but family isn’t it and I suppose Stewart is putting him on the spot around going to the funeral and so on. Why Ben is back for it is a mystery, unless he is going to a UK prison from there now ? He has done a lot of time for credit card fraud, they are tough in the US!

Agree about the Joel actor. He’s brilliant!

I wonder if there is something like a tracking software installed onto the new laptop?

That Digital Spy article makes it sound like Ben is in a UK prison with the ‘day release’ part?

Joel is very good. Not many could carry off such a complex nasty character, but he makes it believable.
Ross has obviously indulged him because his mum isn’t around and it’s all back firing.

I’m wondering if Joel will assault Stacey, Vicki or Kat, the one who stood up to him in the Vic and if Stacey (and it does look like he’s going to target her now that he’s found her cam page) then maybe that could be her exit storyline?

Stacey runs a bap stall and has children to care for and it’s the holidays , but has time to hang around the pub drinking with Vicki! We never see Mica or Pearl much , who was looking after them ( although they might have been with Amy or Ricky I suppose)
No wonder the children grow up and become feral.

Why did that muppet buy Joel another laptop

One interesting thing about last night's episode was the writers remembering Harvey's son's story, and putting him together with Ross. They are very similar, pleasant but dim and weak with little integrity. Harvey hasn't really learned much but he did say something interesting, something along the lines of 'do you really think that or do you just want to think that?'

We even had the 'he's a good kid really' line trotted out by Ross. He has no strong principles so no clue what to do, other than take the line of least resistance. He gave him back a laptop with no conditions. You'd think he would at least only give it to him for homework, with supervision.

It's a very unpleasant storyline but it's really elevated by Joel's performance. He's running rings round Ross.

Joel is the master manipulator isn’t he, crocodile tears the lot. Vicki and Ross have enabled him too , paying off people, getting into debt for him, now buying him a new laptop.

I haven’t got any teens at school now , but do they need a laptop for secondary school these days ? Seems a huge expense for parents when I used to moan about the cost of a new uniform or new shoes let alone what a PC costs as well.
Ross should have asked someone how to block things on it too, he said that he couldn’t do it on
the other one as he didn’t know his , yet he handed over this one without even trying to find out how to do this first.

Ross needs to find a teen who doesn't like Joel (shouldn't be hard!) to show him how to block things. Or even another clued up parent. But at the very least he could only let him have the laptop for homework with him or Vicki in the room. He just chucked him the laptop and left the room, presumably knowing full well what Joel will do.

Poor Stacey when that is all dragged up again , although I don’t agree that she should have slapped him ( he could do her for assault) but now he’ll want his revenge.
Ross should have asked Amy for help with the PC, she doesn’t like him and had him sussed out straight away
Vicki must have computer knowledge too, I suppose ge doesn’t want to tell her what his done although she is bound to find out as they all live together and go mad!

I thought Stacey's reaction when Joel revealed he knew her as 'iceskater' was strange. Surely the first thing you'd think is WTF is a 15 year old doing on a site like that, rather than 'nothing wrong with Stacey's baps'. Bizarre!

(As the new legislation has come in he wouldn't be able to get on that site would he? He'd have to show age verification?)

I wonder if Joel hit his mum or something like that and that’s why she abandoned him ?

Thanks for the thread. I’m not sure what exactly the Howie character brings to EE, although he does have a beautiful singing voice.

Howie has been in and out the show for a while now and never really had much of a story , Denzil has had more than him! I used to like him, but it seems the writers have thought ‘ he hasn’t done much , let’s give him this one’

Callum and Stuart's dad was a really nasty , violent, homophobic piece of work .
A binbag and thrown into a skip would be too good for him ..unless he's had a complete Epiphany and turned into a Saint Father of the Year .

Ben might be coming back to make sure his FIL is actually dead and buried .

I did like the banter between Elaine and Cindy with the rude drinks names

Of course Joel was going straight to Stacey's PoundShop OF page . I am thinking there is some sort of tracker on that new laptop to catch him red handed .

I doubt we shall see polyester man again ( but who knows ) but it would be nice to see Elaine have a relationship which isn’t just a one night stand. She is a big personality!
I thought Cindy actress was doing the Fringe, so maybe she’ll go off again and leave E to it.

Cokers, Jay did Martin’s funeral I think ? So does he run both enterprises? It’s not been mentioned for ages.
I used to like Pam and her husband together running the parlour and Billy did it once too.
They do need one , always a death or two to organize on the square.

I rather liked Mr Poly Suit. Hope he returns for another visit.

I did like Cindy and Elaine together, I think that could work well.

I think Michelle is only away for a few weeks at the Fringe and we often don't see characters for weeks at a time, so she may not get an 'exit'.

I liked the polyester man too! Despite Drew Peacock taking the rise out of his suit.
