love these shows

OlderGlaswegianLivingInDevon · 05/08/2025 19:55

Yes I have seen the very quick little adverts for this. Just Googled to see if i could find out when exactly, but no luck.
Apparently it is returning to the original school, which has a new headteacher.

We have watched and enjoyed them all.

Is this going to be the thread for it when it is on ?

Taytocrisps · 21/08/2025 23:10

Thanks for the heads up. I'm not a teacher, but I find the shows very interesting.

notapizzaeater · 21/08/2025 23:12

The headteacher is the old English teacher that got the stuttering boy speaking.

Seems pretty calm so far.
love Mr Burton
wheres Mr Steer (“he’s well clever”)

Meredusoleil · 31/08/2025 20:35

Love this series. Good to see Mr Burton is still at the same school and has worked his way up to HT.

That girl Amy is breaking my heart a bit 💔 Riley acts like other kids I know of with ADHD.

Meredusoleil · 31/08/2025 20:41

Also, Mr Burton sounds like Jason Manford to me!

BreakingBroken · 31/08/2025 21:10

i'm from canada and my grand daughter goes to school in the uk.
this year she starts secondary school.
is this and previous educating series at all reflective of state secondaries in the uk?

No of course not. It’s heavily edited for entertainment purposes and all schools are different!

Why would you let a child drink coffee especially a child you suspect has adhd.

Doseofreality · 31/08/2025 21:26

Since when have deputy head teachers been qualified to do “neurodiversity screenings”?

Why wouldn’t they it’s literally just reading questions.

A screening isn't diagnosing anyone can do screenings just google it and their will be 10 million websites doing tests for adhd and autism its just to give people an idea a diagnosis has to come from a psychiatrist or paediatrician

BreakingBroken · 31/08/2025 22:19

@youalright caffeine can temporarily help children with adhd by boosting dopamine and helping with focus and alertness.
it can also help after adhd meds have "worn off" by taking the edge off the subsequent crash feeling.
lots of people with adhd self medicate with caffeine.

Rummikub · 31/08/2025 22:38

It was curious to see the deputy head sat hidden behind two screens whilst talking to pupils. And passing a form through the gap like it was the post office.

I was surprised at the coffee too. Mind you I see a lot of our students drinking caffeinated drinks.

In adults maybe but in children its ineffective and harmful.

My daughter is just diagnosed ADHD. A comment she made to me was she tries but it just all goes wrong. He made a similar comment.

I thought exactly that. Did she make eye contact with that child at all?
Such a bad office layout, even if unintentional, hiding behind a wall of screens, like the StarShip Enterprise!

DryAndBalmy · 01/09/2025 07:21

I’m so looking forward to this. LOVED the original series.

IbizaToTheNorfolkBroads · 01/09/2025 07:56

I find this really interesting, as the school featured is local. It’s our “next nearest” secondary school, and in the same MAT as the school my dc go/went to. DS has just left secondary school and he was all like “it’s not like that at my school”, but he only sees the unedited version of his school.

Good to see Mr Burton as Head. Great story for C4 to come back to!

I was trying to work out if rotating the desk would work. And I think it would. Surely pupils respond better if you make eye contact.
