Carrie bought the house when the plan was that Aidan move right in though. I don’t think it’s unreasonable of her to think that waiting for five years might not be five years of celibacy. At the start of the series they were just exchanging blank postcards.

I think the implication with Aidan’s suit was that he’d had to buy a suit from a random shop rather than Big and Tall - he wouldn’t have brought one with him given that he had no idea he was going to a funeral. (Why WAS he at the funeral? Most of the characters had met this man once, if at all.)

Miranda and Joy are a lovely realistic couple. I can totally imagine Miranda leaving a past-its-sell-by-date relationship with Steve for someone she had such a spark with. Can we all just pretend Che never happened? Much as the show is doing.

Charlotte’s sobbing was so real. Lisa’s sadness too. I’d forgotten all the context to her dad though so was a bit mystified - presumably rewatching the episode he appeared in will help.

I was hoping for more comedy from Miranda and Seema. I enjoyed the apartment hunt.

I am beyond confused by why Carrie and Aidan are jointly flogging this dead horse. They obviously have good sex but what else is in this relationship? It’s painful viewing. Not so painful as Carrie’s critical comments on Margaret Hilda Roberts’ Grantham years, nor the experience of reading her Danielle Steel gone wrong fiction I guess.

I predicted Harry would lose his erectile function and I think that’s exactly where we’re heading. Although I won’t rule out a miracle, um, resurgence. Or the introduction of machinery which is usually an option in that situation.

A definite improvement on recent weeks in many ways but I’m so very ready to see the back of Aidan.

That might've been the best episode of the season yet and Charlotte and Carrie's scene at the end was so moving.

Miranda and Joy, SO much better than Miranda and Che and the introducion to Brady was nice and lowkey.

Some great clothes too - Charlotte's wrap dress and LTW's funeral ensemble. She wears such high fashion stuff so seeing her in something so simple was a revelation.

I think Lisa's dad was a famous NY theatre presence, so it was one of those society/celebrity memorials rather than the funeral as such. Also, as I have learned from MN, turning up to the funerals of complete strangers because you work with their relative or something similar is a thing.

Oh poor Charlotte. I don't want Harry to die either.
I remember when Carrie meet Aidan after Big died and he wrapped her in his arms like a big blanket, I thought how lovely its like she has gone home, but know I hope she gives the boring unfaithful bastard the elbow.

I have to buck the trend and say I hated this episode.Too much death and weeping, too much boring LTW, too much awful frozen faced acting from Kristen Davis, too much of crazy Lucille. No sass or fun at all. Though I enjoyed seeing Brady be human and fun for a change
But still not enough fizz in the episode.

Carrie's about turn on the 5 yr wait was surprising. Everybody thought she was waiting 5 years and not having sex with anyone. Guess the writers realised how unpopular it was.

Some good fashion for everyone but Carrie who looked like a badly wrapped parcel in that white dress.

Yes, Carrie just being all calm and reasonable when Aidan admits to sleeping with Kathy is ridiculous! Painful viewing indeed.

I also hated this episode.. Carrie & Aiden are ruining this show. Ridiculous situation, so unbelievable that she wouldn’t have ended it by now.

Not sure about the episode today. Really did not like LTW’s funeral outfit. It was possibly the hat through. Carrie and Aiden is done. It’s boring. Thought the end scenes with Carrie and Charlotte to be good.

At one point I thought Carrie was trying to hurt Aiden by telling him she’s also been unfaithful but no, she was an absolute wet wipe! She hasn’t seen anybody else and she was defo waiting for him. Absolute shite!
As for Aiden having to wear too short trouser- absolute crap too. In the whole of Manhatten the guy can’t get a pair of trousers to fit? Excuse me?( in Antony’s voice)

And another thing( I took notes) why was Herb not escorting Lisa to her father’s funeral? He was escorting his mother! Surely their son could do that.

1. He did get on the plane. Aiden and Kathy forced him to go, wept all the way home then had comfort sex.
2. I wondered that too. I'm wondering if it's some crap metaphor for Duncan giving her butterflies, or she's having one of her overblown physical reactions to emotional turmoil (like breaking out in hives over the thought of marrying Aiden).

4. I would have refused to walk down the street with him. They live in New York for heaven's sake, shops galore and money to burn. He can find a suit that fits.

Maybe she still has the Big Affair guilt? And in some ways, this makes things equal. His cheating cancels out her cheating. And of course, she wants to shag the hell out of Duncan, and Aiden has now handed her a guilt free excuse to do so, and she's happy!

Well the mother's been portrayed as a high maintenance cowbag, and Lisa seems very deferential towards her to keep the peace. I thought what she said to Lisa at the end was very sweet, though.

But, but, but Aiden was whining that nothing goes right for him. But Wyatt did get in the plane and he had a fine old time with Kathy. Absolutely shameful to play the hard done by card.

I gasped out loud when Aidan said he shagged Cathy but Carrie's response was interesting. I thought her (disgusting) dinner with Duncan seemed a lot like a date, I did wonder if she was open to dating already. However I don't believe she would be blithely holding hands and giggling with Aidan after finding out he shagged his ex wife - it's completely different to dating a random. And she is supposed to love him - whether or not she's happy with having an open/casual relationship for 5 years or not, nobody who loves someone is going to be so blaze about them shagging their spouse of 20 years!

I don't think it's "real" for Carrie. She's in her head, living a fairy story, writing her novel, playing it out in real life and vice versa. All this will end up in her Mills & Boon somehow. It's almost the way she was in SATC. Manufacturing situations/crises so she could write about them. Aiden was a bit of unfinished business, a sliding doors moment in her life that she dwelled on after Big died. She's now had a glimpse of how life would have been and knows how it will be with Aiden. Which is not what she wants her life to be like, Aiden and her are polar opposites. But this situation - and his indiscretion - means she can phase him out gently without being the one to blame for ending it again.

I think it's because Wyatt had wanted to go on the trip (his idea) and Aiden thought they had a breakthrough with him. Then he didn't want to go at the last minute and they were back to forcing him. So Aiden pity party. They probably know Wyatt will come back mad as hell as well.

I hated this episode. So dull. And why is the editing so very weird? Scenes just come to a dead stop. The pacing is so strange

Almost sprained my eyeballs rolling them at Carrie and Aidan. Where is your dignity, woman?! Had everything crossed that she was going to chuck him after the Cathy revelation but no. I think we're going to be stuck with him forever

It was fun seeing Bitsy Von Muffling again but what happened to her child? I remember her talking to Carrie about widowhood after Big died but she never mentioned a child. The last time we saw her in SATC she was heavily pregnant.

I'm pretty sure Bitzy mentions a son in the episode where we meet her again in series 1 (think it was at Enid's magazine party). Remember, where she spoils the "Bobby Fine is gay" running joke by admitting she knew that he was.
