It's a good thing they said her name as most people (me included) would not have recognised her.

The way Joel mentioned his mum being a slapper in the this episode does make me think Zoe could be his mum. It is SO ridiculously unlikely but this is EastEnders.

This evening's episode, wasn't expecting Elaine to become a feminist icon ! She really told George ! Yes, she had a ONS, but as she said "You made me into a jealous, paranoid wreck ".

Typical Cindy, hears the news and is straight round there offering George a shoulder to cry on. So glad he told her where to go.

I’ve seen a couple of reports where it says that Zoe’s back permanently.

I thought it was maybe going to be Hayley with Stacey calling Alfie and also Tommy mentioning her, though Hayley returning surely wouldn’t be hyped up so much.

I hadn’t read anything into the speculation about her being Joel’s mother but it does feel like they’re setting her up for a big story. Like with George and Cindy it’d be another far fetched storyline but this is Eastenders after all.

I thought it was quite clever how it was rather ambiguous as to whether it was going to be Hayley or Zoe in the lead up, eg. Stacey calling Alfie for help, the coincidence of Tommy saying she (H) looks like "proper filth; like she needs a shower", and then Stacey describing her (Z) as "scruffy, looks like she needs a wash".
Best bit was where Kat (talking to Tommy) saying "I'm yer muvver!" then it cuts to Zoe walking in the door of her flat...

If Zoe turns out to be Joel’s mum it will be ridiculous
didn’t he say he was born and lived here a few years as he got bullied in school for not using Aussie phrases
so we assume that his dad met her here then emigrated with Joel and happened to meet Spencer who is the brother of her mothers husband and become his best mate?

I know expats over there often find out they have links as I’ve family who have met people from the same town etc but come on at no point did they discuss Joel’s mums name?

mind you the George meeting Elaine was just as bad

Bit of an anticlimax with Zoe, I never found he interesting first time around.
Would definitely rather have mick back or Shirley, great characters .
Enjoyed the Elaine and George bit, plus Phil and Nigel in the cafe.
bored of jean’s character now and Harvey is a wet blanket.
I didn’t enjoy the train storyline because it was horrible but I really hope Tommy’s going to move away from that rapey creep now and it will mean no more of those grim incel storylines.
i know it’s an important issue but it just gives me ptsd type heebies, I want to enjoy my half hour 4 x a week, was very disappointed when I switched on this morning with my cuppa to discover that it wouldn’t air until tonight 😂

I did find the characters tonight had kind of slotted back to how they were before the producer break. George was back to telling Cindy to do one. Stacey was back in her red blouse with hair and make up, she's finally got rid of the hoodie. Jean was back to worrying about Stacey, and not off sulking.
It just felt like the characters had done another 180 over night

Poor Lacey, can they not let her have a proper maternity leave?

I'm not impressed with the Zoe return.
I was finding out for Max.😍

I did like the bit where Phil said him and Nigel are playing Mummy's and Daddy's, and Nigel walks over and goes "there you are Mummy". And Kojo pointing out the bleeding obvious to George.

4 good actors (because I think the Kojo actor is good) in one scene was the highlight last night. Showed how bad some of the others are.

Why is Stacey renting a place? Also haven't we had the whole Spanish loan shark thing with Sam Mitchell?

I don’t think Stacey is renting - she said she’d left Lynne looking after the kids to go and sort who we now know is Zoe out so assume it was Stacey’s place

why Lynne, or mo or little mo couldn’t do that instead of a grieving mum of young kids is an eastenders thing

In today's episode Stacey says she is renting the place.

It couldn't be Lynne or little Mo as they aren't coming back to the show.

Zoe is renting the room then and Stacey found her in a state? Probably because she’ll get the whole ‘ family is so important’ speech and Stacey will return her to ‘ the bosom of her family ‘ ( to live in a cramped house )

Zoe has obviously had a tough time of it and the whole selling property abroad couldn’t have worked out that well ( or gone bust)
I hope she sorts it out though , maybe they will help her to get back on track ( run the car lot with Lauren ?)

Just a ‘wonder’
but Kats been ramping up the family is important thing, as has Jean, despite slapping each other and trying to destroy the business
Zoe comes back in a mess, Kat will be reluctant to have her around Tommy
Joel will be very much ‘your sister is a dirty slag’
Tommy gives his mum a speech about how family should stick together blah blah
cuts ties with nasty Joel for what he’s said about his sister
Zoe recovers from whatever is going on in a week

that would be marginally better than her being Joel’s mum

No it's not Zoe's place.
Stacey said she rented it to get space from Lynne. It doesn't make sense because if she's feeling better then surely she would go home and also how is she affording to rent a second place.
She also says that Zoe has stolen hundreds from her. I don't know how Stacey has hundreds to steal, she hasn't worked since January/February.
All Zoe does in this episode is walk around huffing and puffing

I wonder if suki is still charging them rent for the place in the square? Or if indeed suki still owns it?

Gosh, why rent somewhere rather than go home ?
They had Sam Mitchell turn up a wreck from Spain once owing people money , Lauren went through a drug / drinking faze too. The writers don’t like women much!

Maybe Martin’s insurance has paid out ? Just a thought how she can afford rent and to give Zoe cash
( or stolen it from Phil’s safe ! lol )
