It’s amazing how much stuff from the vic survived a massive explosion isn’t it? the Victoria bust, martins tankard, the pic of Linda and mick

Oh yes, a paper based version of mick and Linda’s photo has survived in a wallet in deep water and now an explosion too! 😂

I wondered if I missed something re the Mick and Linda photo, it really isn't feasible that it could survive! I suppose it is realistic they are still mourning Martin but conveniently yesterday they all decided that a booze up in the Vic is what Martin would have wanted' 😆

I think a few of us thought they were going down the 'woman hating teen' route with Nugget or Tommy. Doing it with Joel makes sense as it is not really a storyline a character can be redeemed from. Joel is a 'disposable' character and can be sent to Youth Offenders and forgotten. It is a bonus that he seems a very good actor, I don't think Nugget or Tommy could cope with it.

Joel is very believable as a bad boy I agree.
Maybe he’ll have a run in with Ravi or even Suki and turn out ok in the end , but at the moment his just doing what he likes :(
Someone on here said Avani is the new Whitney and that seems to be true so far !

I wouldn't fancy his chances against Ravi!
It was me who said Avani seems to be the new Whitney. It is hard to see where they will take her after this, she will have had so much trauma in the space of a year.

Maybe it's a premonition that the photo survived so Mick will too...... (weirder things happen on the Square )

Yes. The ‘photo shopped ‘ photo of young Mick and Linda ( which I assume has been photo shopped , but they may have met as teen actors once !) is a symbol of love conquering all ! It’s a shame that Janine ruined it all for them for a while ( in real life it was the old producer who did this ! lol )
He may return one day , but probably after Linda has moved on with someone else!

I just keep having to reassure myself that the actor who plays Avani is in her twenties - just really grim for her to have to do these stories if she wasn't

I've had an unusually busy week and only caught up last night with the previous three episodes. I've enjoyed this week's episodes in general and am intrigued where the Joel story is going. The actors playing Joel and Tommy are really good so I'm sure they can do this story justice. The VE episode was the worst one I've seen for months - fantastical nonsense that wasn't in the least bit poignant or entertaining.

Just watched today’s hoping it was better after the drudgery of last week. I do like Harvey but today’s was ‘Kath vs Jean’ and him dancing between the two for like the 5th week running. I’m bored of it now and think it’s going to be an exit storyline for Stacey. Harvey will break Jeans heart and the family will go and stay with Sean or someone to get over it.

More of Joel’s dad being a twat today. Tommy does seem to be following Joel’s lead a bit. There’s an interesting story there but I’ve found Avani so annoying the last few weeks!

Eastenders seem to be doing that a lot recently. Dragging stories and characters out so we’re all annoyed with them and then when something bad happens we have less sympathy for them (like Sonia)

Amazed that Kathy and Harvey could have that conversation in the caff about him leaving Jean without anyone else hearing!

Why was Alfie so bouncy when telling Harvey the bad news about the campervan? It was a really bizarre way of giving bad news, I expected there to be a punchline like ‘but here’s the good news…!’

It was strange! I was expecting him to say they’d been upgraded to a larger vehicle, but no!

Maybe Alfie could see that it wouldn’t work out as Lily and Stacey are daggers drawn and it would be a miserable holiday despite what was said.
It was odd though , as was the whole episode really.
One minute Harv is finishing it, then he isn’t .. round it goes.

I see no romantic chemistry at all between Jean and Harvey. She acts as if she can't stand him most of the time now all of of a sudden she's proposing? I think I could write better characters.

I commented before that I've never seen Jean and Harvey interact romantically. Never seen them kiss, hug or act with any affection towards each other. No chemistry.

Jean is a complete misery (fab actress who plays the role really well). I can't remember how he ended up living with the Slaters but she only seems to have seen him as a useful financial addition to the household hence losing her shit when he was giving that money to Maya.

I hope he doesn't end up with her or Kathy. Perhaps they can have him go and visit Mitch in Spain and he decides to stay out there, driving a cab on the Costa del Sol.

I don’t want Harvey or Jean to leave. I’d quite like to see him with Kathy permanently. He’s so ordinary he’s a good fit for the Square.

mind you, I hate camping out and Stacey’s miserable face would put me off ( I know she is grieving , but she is pulling them all down :(
Cindy gets wind of the Kathy / Harv affair this week .,
She’ll be made up I bet :(

Harvey is too good for Jean and that’s why the story fails for me - I’m mildly rooting for Kathy and Harvey, and have no sympathy for Jean. The affair comes out this week, thanks to Cindy.

Today’s episode was dreary.

Harvey seems more suited to Kathy , but she was once with the lovely ‘ lovable rogue ‘ Rocky and I also thought they were good together as well! He was more of a laugh than Harvey who messes up constantly, but I don’t mind him. He definitely isn’t suited to Jean though.
It’s a tough one ! Lol

Crikey. Have just seen Harvey actor on The One Show. He looks MUCH better IRL. Looks at least a stone lighter than his character, not sure if he’s been on hols somewhere just looks a lot healthier and actually quite handsome. Can only assume the wardrobe and makeup team on EE are really good at making people look crap!

Maybe they bulk him out with more clothes or something on EE , Eastie? He often wears a jacket over a jumper etc.

I agree he looks good. I wonder if he’s gone on a break / holiday as part of the reveal story for his character and Kathy.

I saw Ross Boatman on the One Show too. I think he looked better because he was smiling all the time!

I am so fed up with Harvey. Why do Kathy and Jean want him anyway, he’s such a useless article, a weak man who tells everyone what they want to hear.

Alfie’s appearances were bizarre, he didn’t really fit in. Actually the whole campervan idea was bizarre. It’s term time yet Lily and the two other invisible kids were getting pulled out of school for a random trip.

I was surprised Stacey left her bedroom! I guess Lacey is going to do occasional appearances.

Interesting that Suki saw Ross and Avani. Ross is absolutely clueless.

Yeah he is almost always in a zipped up jacket isn’t he. So perhaps they put an oversized jumper on underneath to make him look so overweight. Not convinced someone as attractive as Kathy would go for him IRL but there you go.

I still remember when he was Kevin in London’s Burning!
