Welcome to the EastEnders spoilers thread, where we post and talk about any EE spoilers we've read about, including those in early release episodes on iPlayer.

Vicky is a misery guts type, like Michelle. She’d be a terrible landlady!

I agree Ross and Vicky would be terrible in the Vic.

Sharon and Linda is a great idea.😍

the80sweregreat · 08/06/2025 13:14

Sharon nearly bought the Vic, but Linda pulled the rug in favour of her mum and George!
Sharon has been missing for ages. She is meant to run the gym, but that must be Phil on his own now ?

Eddie Royle wasn't a barrel of laughs -though he did end up murdered by Nasty Nick in the Square . It was more because he was ex Old Bill than his miserable Crack a Smile face

Shellingbynight · 08/06/2025 16:27

I'd forgotten that 80s, Sharon and Linda do seem a very natural choice to run the Vic but of course they wanted to set up the Knights/Cindy scenario.

Eastie77Returns · 08/06/2025 18:16

I don't like Vicki but they've done a good job with the casting as she does remind me of Michelle! She's got the miserable demeanor down to a tee and even the hairstyle and dowdy clothes. Some of the other alleged child/parent pairings are completely bizarre - Barney and Zack for example.

OpalescentFruit · 08/06/2025 20:06

Pauline's spirit really is living on through her granddaughter Vicky.

Eastie77Returns · 08/06/2025 20:34

Den was miserable too. Vicky stood no chance really.

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 08/06/2025 20:53

HaHa - Den's eyes practically rolled out of his head and Pauline had a face like a well skelped arse .
Vikki (old head) came back to the Square with a dodgy American accent that she managed to shed with no real explanation. Hmm

OpalescentFruit · 08/06/2025 21:11

New Vicky is difficult to accept because she isn't old pixie cut American Vicky - but I couldn't accept American Vicky at all! Now I see the bigger picture with the spectre of Pauline. Grim.and frumpy.

storminabuttercup · 09/06/2025 07:09

New vicky makes no sense, where the heck did she get her cockney accent from?

the80sweregreat · 09/06/2025 07:32

Old head Vicky was criticized for a bad American accent , so maybe they just thought ‘ sod it’ let’s have her speaking ‘cockney !! ‘
I had relative who spoke quite ‘well to do , ‘ but once he moved out of the east end to the country and a much nicer part of the UK he went all Danny Dyer ! It was so strange.
Plus some expats in Australia don’t always pick up the accent either. Joel has a slight Aussie accent. Not that we hear him an awful lot ( thank goodness)

Eastie77Returns · 09/06/2025 11:50

Having lived in first the US from childhood then Australia I would have expected Vicky to have a US inflected accent with maybe a hit of Aussie . The full blown East End accent makes no sense!

But then Anna and Gina were supposedly born in Spain, lived their entire lives and were educated there before coming to Albert Square but have a London accent. I have never heard them utter a word in Spanish to each other.

the80sweregreat · 09/06/2025 12:03

I commented on Anna and Gina when they first appeared as they would have gone to school over in Marbella and unless it was an International school , they would have had to speak Spanish and might have picked up an accent of some sort too !
never been mentioned of course !
Todays one is on I player dated for tomorrow.

Southeastdweller · 09/06/2025 12:35

Today’s episode was OK. I always enjoy seeing Elaine and no Mitchell’s is always good. I have a feeling Elaine’s story is being set up for George to leave.

All the couples are so unhappy arn’t they ?

Classicalgas · 09/06/2025 18:33

I did a double take earlier, Linda’s son looks like jack Whitehall with my glasses off.

I saw Colin Salmon in a trailer for the new ‘Nobody 2’ film with Bob Odenkirk so I reckon he had to take some time off to film that perhaps?

That’s interesting. I’ve said on here more than once that I had a feeling his contract allows for regular time off to work on other projects.

the80sweregreat · 09/06/2025 18:42

Now she has clocked George with Cindy , he is definitely being kicked into touch soon I bet!
It’s a shame if George leaves , but he may as well join all the others who have disappeared this year
Maybe him and Cindy will take off together back to Marbs.
I can see a similarity between Johnny and Jack Whitehall tbh! Didn’t really notice it before

Alucard55 · 09/06/2025 20:18

I like the decor upstairs in the Vic. What is wrong with George though.

Shellingbynight · 09/06/2025 20:57

Thanks for the heads up that this episode was on iplayer although not airing till tomorrow, I didn't know what was going on there!

You're right 80s, all the couples were so miserable. Even Yolande and Patrick.

George was introduced as a good man with integrity, but actually he has no integrity. If he can make the wrong decision or lie his way out of something, he will. And he keeps doing it and doesn't seem to understand what he's done wrong - "I didn't tell you because I knew you'd be upset". Well don't bloody well do it then! He's weak and has poor judgment, he's almost as bad as Harvey.

ILoveBrum · 09/06/2025 21:28

Totally agree about George @Shellingbynight

the80sweregreat · 10/06/2025 10:19

Does anyone remember the time with Cindy and George in Marbella before she left him ?
It was seen around at the time as a rare ‘ flashback ‘ segment and it was hinted that he was quite abusive towards her and she had a bit of a drink problem? I thought then he wasn’t all sweetness and light , although he was then left on his own with the girls after she took off and she couldn’t / didn’t get in touch again! Anyway, I’m sure they had their ups and downs in Spain anyway.

Shellingbynight · 10/06/2025 10:30

The only thing I remember from that time was George being angry and sad after Cindy disappeared. I can't remember if we saw that, or if Gina was talking about it. I thought the whole point was they had a great relationship so he was devastated when she disappeared. But nothing is ever straightforward with Cindy!
