I thought Lily went to stay with Ryan, her dad? The uncle would be Sean.
It was all weird tbh because the relationship with Ryan broke down during her pregnancy.

It all currently seems very messy at eastenders.

lazymum99 · 23/05/2025 09:09

Ryan is lilys dad. He has a partner (not sure if that’s who picked her up in the car) who couldn’t have children and there was talk when Lily was pregnant that they wanted to adopt the baby. Lily cut off all communication with him. But in EE world that doesn’t seem to matter.

I also remember the big fan fare when Dot got a washing machine installed under the stairs!

lazymum99 · 23/05/2025 09:11

I also assume that any benefits available for 13 year old mothers go to the parent (Stacey).
so between school and access to any funds to take care of charli and the free nursery she seems to use, a move would be very difficult. But hey ho.

the80sweregreat · 23/05/2025 09:25

Ryan ( Lily’s dad ) came over when Lily was pregnant and it all kicked off and he was told to go away and he stopped her maintenance.
Ryan is Whitney’s brother.
The one picking them up yesterday was a lady cab driver as Lily said Ryan had sent for a cab.

the80sweregreat · 23/05/2025 09:50

One thing that struck me yesterday was how big Stacey’s room was and only one small single bed too. considering how many live there , I’d have thought she might have to share with one of the children ( I know they have an extension , but a lot have lived there historically and they must have a lot of stuff)
It just struck me as odd we didn’t see another bed there or more things

I noticed how big the room was too. But the bed was a double for sure!

Yes the bed was a double , she was lying along the foot end ( unless she is teeny IRL ) .
Wonder why it was built with the step down into the bedroom?
The living room at the Vic has a wide step and the flat where Callum and Ben lived had a step into the lounge .
I have been in many EastEnd houses of this era ( work , not just breaking in ) and cannot recall any having this ...

I also noticed the step and found it strange!

Nannylovesshopping · 23/05/2025 11:30

I have a step like that in my Victorian cottage, have to be very careful after more than two gins!

lazymum99 · 23/05/2025 11:31

Must all be filmed in the same studio which unfortunately has a step!

the80sweregreat · 23/05/2025 11:36

It looked like a single bed, but I am usually wrong ! Lol
In Gavin and Stacey sit com , Gwen’s house has a step down to its kitchen and that looks a bit lethal.
My late in-laws had steps up and down into kitchens and things ( in the east end area) so it’s just be how it’s built, but it seems dangerous to me.!

Shellingbynight · 23/05/2025 12:35

Yes it was a double bed. I liked that the room was realistically messy!

Oh yes of course, Ryan’s her dad. But as others have said she fell out with him big time last time she saw him. It was strongly hinted he wanted access to Lily’s baby because he and his wife couldn’t conceive.

Still, they had to get her out of there somehow I suppose, I think it was all done in such a rush so that we didn't have time to think about how daft it all was 😆

the80sweregreat · 23/05/2025 12:50

The bed looked smaller to me, but I probably wasn’t paying close attention! Typical of me lol
I saw on Facebook that Ryan lived in Wakefield ( but I don’t remember that being mentioned myself as it was a while ago we last saw him )
if this true , that cab fare would be huge! lol
( unless his moved home ?)
Lil didn’t say where she was actually going to live.
long way with a small child too.
She definitely said he’d called her a cab.

Shellingbynight · 23/05/2025 12:53

I was thinking Ryan lived in Reading or Slough, somewhere fairly nearby. I just googled, it'd be about £320 from east London to Wakefield! And as it was unsocial hours it'd probably be more. He must be very keen to see her!

the80sweregreat · 23/05/2025 12:58

Blimey , that is a big cab bill!
Most cabbies round my way would be a bit reluctant to go that far I think.
They will probably say he moved or the Facebook page is wrong . I don’t know where Ryan lived, but Whitney was going up north somewhere to see him too on public transport with a baby etc wasn’t she?

storminabuttercup · 23/05/2025 15:37

Ryan definitely lived in Wakefield as that’s where lily went. I was assuming the cab was taking her to KX to get the train straight up to Wakefield way quicker than a cab

Shellingbynight · 23/05/2025 15:58

Lily said 'he is sending a cab for me'. It was late at night so I doubt a 14 year old would travel on a train with an 18 month old child and all the kit that went into the boot.

(I suspect we are not supposed to think about it too much, because none of it makes sense!)

the80sweregreat · 23/05/2025 19:07

Oh well, the writers must forget that people remember where these people live!

Giantjoelguesser · 23/05/2025 23:01

It's not just the writers, it's the whole production. Is it adhoc staff during the producer change? Have they all (actors included) forgotten storylines? Maybe no-one cares or maybe no one dares speak up, it's weird.
I can't see them winning a Bafta next year.

Eastie77Returns · 23/05/2025 23:47

Such a bizarre episode. How can a 14 year old child and her baby just jump in a cab to travel hundreds of miles away in the middle of the night. Surely Ryan would have said I’ll come and get you tomorrow rather than ‘sending a cab’. And no-one seemed bothered about telling Ricky that his baby was being whisked away.

Who is going to pay the rent now that there’s just Freddie left in the house. I can’t remember who owns it, think it was Nish so maybe Suki is the landlord now.

All of the kids will now miss school for several months at least. You’d think social services would be alerted, especially as Lily is already on their radar.

PomegranateVase · 24/05/2025 06:52

Wow, such a strange few episodes recently. It seems as though everything had been so meticulously planned for the live episode and now everything is coming loose.

I hadn’t realised that Stacey was leaving as part of an open return, and thought she was just taking a few months off. It‘s such a shame she won’t be in it for a long time.

I can’t fathom how many characters have left recently and in a really hurried or not fully explained way/had a proper farewell.

Stacey and all her children - very hurried and didn’t make a lot of sense.

Jean and Big Mo - no farewell at all, just the briefest of mentions that they’ve gone away but not sure where - with Fat Elvis or to Sean’s - not sure.

Sonia, Bianca and Rebecca - you could’ve made a cup of tea and missed their exit.

All of the above are long serving characters and deserve much more!

I’m wondering which new and annoying characters will move into Stacey’s house. Most of the newer ones are so irritating - like the new Mitchell’s and Vicky and family.

Eastenders, please don’t kill Zack off, he’s gorgeous! I think so much more could be explored with his character, and I’m 100% convinced he is baby Jimmy’s Dad.

the80sweregreat · 24/05/2025 08:37

It’s all been disjointed since the fire really and maybe Lacey Turner being pregnant and Heather Pearce ( Eve) being poorly too meant they had to rewrite a few things for the slater storylines and it’s been a juggling act these past few months.
I have read online that a few cast members also don’t get along and a change of producer and it’s all resulted in a lot of people being axed or leaving.
I hope they don’t kill Zac off too , I’d like to think he’ll visit his daughter and maybe return at some stage.
Sharon has also disappeared too, but I’m sure she’ll return.

the80sweregreat · 24/05/2025 08:40

I keep reading online that baby Jimmy may be Zac’s. We did see them together once , but maybe Lauren had a longer affair than we realized off screen. No idea really.

the80sweregreat · 24/05/2025 08:43

In the old days Ricky and Jack and possibly Dee would have had a bit of a fight over Charli and then seen them off with Ryan once they realized she wasn’t backing down or needed a break ( after a few wise words from Denise ) but Ricky is pretty much an absent dad who lives across the road and Jack is still in Norfolk with his sister ! Bizarre.

Eastie77Returns · 24/05/2025 10:00

Oh yes Jack went to visit Suzy, the sister who he hasn’t bothered with for decades, because he needed to help her with her life threatening condition…she hurt her collarbone🙄

I agree the sudden exits of so many long standing characters is just bizarre beyond belief. Within hours of meeting her real dad for the first time Sonia decided to move to Bali with him, found out he was a wrong’un and went anyway with her sister and daughters, one of whom is a baby and didn’t even have a passport. Bianca left without so much of a call to her many children including the son in MK she has forgotten exists.

There is such a lack of continuation between episodes, key characters behaving in ways that make no sense and new characters that just haven’t worked out. EE needs to sort it out and get a proper rota of writers. When you watch some of the Classic episodes it’s like night and day. I’m currently watching some from 20+ years ago when Phil took on the gangster Jack Dalton!
