I imagine Gaston would not be ok with Ella previously being a he. He seems quite traditional our Gaston.

Gemma and Ella were equally revolting. Ella's belief that a shiny man made vagina was better than any actual female one tipped the balance for me. Gaston would run from both. He wants someone to accept and laugh at his comments, not out do him ,I suspect.

What must Gaston be used to if his innuendos are typical for him. Most would stick a cork in that surely.

I watched Ella on celebs go dating. I did quite like her in that. No shortage of men wanting to date her. She was being encouraged to rein some things in a bit - by our expert Paul no doubt!

When Amy told Gaston that he'd made inappropriate comments at the cookery class, he looked shocked and was going "what, today?" So I also suspect he has no idea how some comments are coming across.
I hate sexual comments from a partner, it makes me really weird and uncomfortable feeling.
However, if I was going to a cookery class wearing leather which barely covered my boobs and arse, I wouldn't be surprised if my sexual partner made some comment about me looking sexy.
I'm Amy's case, I think it's likely that she'd have been a bit irked if he hadn't said she looked hot at least.

And for someone who had clearly lost her last thread of patience with him, she did a 180 and very quickly put the ring back on. Weird.

I sort of understand what Polly is saying re compliments etc. Surely it's not impossible for Shitlid to say she looks nice? It's not "him" to be full of compliments and reassurance, but it's not unreasonable to discuss their relationship to some extent. Otherwise Polly would constantly be wondering if they would last beyond next week.

HOWEVER, the amount that she goes on and on about it, he's almost shriveling up. He knows fine that if he starts with those kinds of comments that she'll be analysing them and will probably criticise that he's still not doing it enough etc

When Amy was putting her ring back on, her entire face looked different. Puffy cheeks, something odd about her eyes, lips super-huge

Thanks for the Gemma info. I only started watching last year but I was aware of Gemma and the tattooed beardy bloke because of Gogglebox.

I think Nathan is about eleventy hundred times smarter than we think he is. All else aside he knows how to keep his mouth shut.

Agreed. She started awful, but relaxed and seemed much nicer, I hope it helped her in some weird way.

I also agree that Nathan isn’t as thick as I first thought.

How could you tell the difference from her usual face? She had no makeup on in those scenes, so maybe that's why she was looking puffy.

I can actually understand where Shitlid is coming from here as compliments aren't my thing either. I will often think to myself "oh, that colour looks lovely on So and So/ oh, So and So really suits this outfit / has done a great job, etc." but will never actually say them out loud as it just isn't me.
