Just listened to Sweet Bobby on BBC sounds. Very interesting listen about a woman who was ‘catfished’. Then saw it advertised on Netflix, coming out on Wednesday.
Got to be worth a watch.

It was very telling that Kirat refused to talk about the sexual side of things.

I imagine she was encouraged to masturbate "for Bobby" and she is embarrassed about that.

Especially now she knows that the only person listening was Simran. It's a horrifying violation, really.

As well as Kirat's Mum and Dad, there was an Aunt who was interviewed as well - she seemed to be a bit more suspicious about the existence of Bobby. I thought at the end she was going to be revealed as Simran's Mum! that would have been good.

I think she was the mum of the other cousin - the one who participated in the documentary and seemed quite based.

The more I think about it the more I start to suspect Kirat is either 1) mentally ill or 2) knew what's going on but went along with it as she liked the fantasy

I find her wanting to run Bobby's wife over quite disturbing. Also, saying that her child is "hers" somehow. This makes me think she actually knew the real situation, that Bobby had a family and a child but still went along with the weird fantasy (did she think it was a lie but sort of not? Like, Bobby really liked her but pretended he was with his wife? Or imagined that despite all the evidence "her" Bobby was the real one?)

I think she is seriously mentally ill. And her cousin is unhinged, too.

Also think Bobby and his wife are a really cute couple. I can see why Kirat wanted a piece of it.

When/on what platform did Kiran make these comments about the wife/child?

I know this has been written earlier (actually that was what made me find the podcast), and there is more detail, and the whole format of the podcast was different. There were some main points on there that I didn't remember seeing on the doc.
It is still absolutely bizarre. Even the podcast. You still come away with unanswered questions, but not so many. I can't remember what date the doc dropped, but I watched it that first day, and then I listened to podcast around about the first week of December. And it didn't seem to be that long after I'd watched the doc, but I had already forgotten certain things!
I'd advise to listen to the podcast, if you can. I'd say it was by far the better and more informative of the two.

Wow. I'm gonna have to get someone's Netflix account details so I can watch 😅. I mean by this point she had driven herself quite mad and in her delusion prob thought Bobby wanted to be with her and the wife was the only obstacle in the way... she never acted on it which is the main thing! But I can certainly understand why Bobby and his wife want to keep their distance! The whole thing is too weird to now make the effort to become friends. Kiran needs a whole lot of therapy, I hope she his getting it. I think the fact her family/the community can't/won't take on board the severity of what happened are massive blocks to full healing. Being told repeatedly "get over it, move on" must be awful 😫.

When she confirmed there was a sexual element (in the podcast) this was the first thing I thought, because she said there were no videos or photos. It's not surprising she started vomiting when she realised. Simran is a **ing psycho 😰
