Following on from the last thread.

We're currently up to where Roy has been arrested for (allegedly) killing Lauren, and Roy's dog has been stolen and the thieves are saying the dog won't be returned until Roy admits his guilt.

Leanne is being drawn into a weird cult.

Toyah is arrested for criminal damage for attacking someone's car. (Someone who thinks Roy buried Lauren in the park!) And she doesn't seem quite herself. What is wrong with her?

Joel and DeeDee are on-again-off-again ...

I'm sure there's a few more bits and bobs going on, but there's plenty of space on this thread (and time) to catch up. Smile

Adam produced yet another hair style last night. Side parting affair.

Good on yah lad. Keep em coming. 😁

Jitterybugs · 30/04/2024 10:37

I wonder if that’s Adam’s normal appearance in real life. He always looks to me like he needs a good wash. And maybe surgically removed from that suit that he wears all day every day including when he’s at home.

Deadringer · 30/04/2024 11:54

I still think corrie are revisiting the gandy/phelan locked in a basement storyline with Lauren. She could be just lying low but as a pp said she wouldn't let Roy go down for her disappearance. Her mum is apparently abroad so maybe she is with her, hiding from someone (evil stepdad maybe) not knowing what's going on at home.

Virgo1958 · 30/04/2024 11:55

Do you think that we will have to wait for the end of May to find out what's happened to Lauren to tie in the BGT final and Corrie on at 9 all week?

Deadringer · 30/04/2024 11:59

I find it hard to believe that Archie Shuttleworth left both his house and business to George, 80 grand (iirc) to Audrey and nothing to Glenda. If he did leave her money it seems to be long gone. And if this new will is recognised and Audrey's inheritance isnt included, will she have to pay it back?

DahliaMacNamara · 30/04/2024 14:16

I was wondering that about Audrey's inheritance. She wouldn't have it to pay back any more, would she, even if it were legally required. Would it be? I have nothing but questions. Why would you do that, Archie?

WiddlinDiddlin · 30/04/2024 19:47

I don't think the recently discovered will is actually a legally binding witnessed will, just one Archie intended to make legal... but never got around to.

But I am fairly sure that even if it was, there is something that says if you have reason to believe the will you have and act on is the last and final will, and it later turns out its not, after probate, thats tough titty (you can really tell I am not a legal professional!)

eggandonion · 30/04/2024 20:37

I don't think they had easy access to a solicitors until Adam and Imran turned up? There was Mad Maya and Mike Baldwin has a lady solicitor but beyond that was there a handy one?

Can't see Max being involved,he liked her and he's turned a corner!

Yep bye Alya. Quite a boring rude character.

Yeah I think that may have been me. I said further back in the thread that if Lauren was just living somewhere else, I am sure that she would have heard about Roy by now.

He has been all over the internet, and the news. He has been arrested for her murder. She must be incarcerated or kidnapped or in a cult or something (away from the world/society.) Because as we said, she wouldn't let Roy go down for her murder.

Yeah I am glad to see the back of Alya too. Used to think she was OK, but this past year she has annoyed me.

Is that her maternity leave then for irl, her going to the Dublin office?

ceecee32 · 01/05/2024 20:41

Paul and Gemma's dad reminds me of Mick Hucknall from years ago

Andthereyougo · 01/05/2024 21:07

I’d be a bit sad if Max was involved in Lauren’s disappearance. I think there must have been something said in the conversation Roy’s trying to recall or it’s to do with the pendant Lauren is wearing. I don’t think she’s dead, trafficked most likely into sex work ☹️

Spot on, she is rude and boring
Hasn’t really had any good storylines; just interferes in everyone else’s lives.
Very unlikeable; am sure she was pregnant with Gary’s baby ages ago, but it was never mentioned again!
Hope she doesn’t come back

I see Ricky gervais !

So, this late in the day A&A are going to get it on?

Twins dad was well cast wasn't he!

Steve needs a break from Corrie. Cringe cringe cringe.

Thequeenofwishfulthinking · 01/05/2024 23:02

I feel a bit sorry for Steve - he’s lost his looks and his wife. Back in the day he had his pick of the women and there were times they physically fought over him. Mind you he didn’t always treat them well so I suppose it’s karma for the character. Im still rooting for him and Glenda and also for Liz MacDonald to make a return to the cobbles.
ive always liked the friendship Steve has with Tim. Enjoyed the ‘dating scene’ with Sally making a predicted but well timed visit to the Rovers.
I think it’s about time the production team cut the dead wood from the cast and focused on the popular and talented actors remaining.
I’ve said it before but Gemma, Chesney and the Quads need to go. The practicalities associated with all those children on set is not worth it. As a pp said they need to be rehoused elsewhere due to overcrowding.
We need to see more of characters like David, Todd, Glenda, Debbie and George.

Psychoticbreak · 01/05/2024 23:05

I am in and out of soaps at the moment but just clocked Deedee and shes lost about half her body weight since she started!

Thequeenofwishfulthinking · 01/05/2024 23:27

@Psychoticbreak theres an article online stating she has lost 44 pounds. I can’t get it to link.

I see Ricky gervais !

I see Johnny Vegas

Roy seemed to remember Max talking to Lauren about wanting to meet her new boyfriend. She was fingering a very unusual pendant.

Plod should be able to trace her contacts through the sex site she was on. In fact - why haven't they investigated that already?

AmusedMaker · 02/05/2024 07:34

Agree that the really good actors are underused.
i fast forward any scenes with Gemma in, her acting is absolutely awful. Although Gemma & Paul’s Dad turning up looks like an interesting storyline emerging.
also feel sorry for Steve and don’t think he’s that bad looking for his age.
Tim is clearly going to get into trouble with the woman who was bizarrely throwing herself at him ( I mean, is Tim any better looking than Steve? )

bizzey · 02/05/2024 07:45

Steve looked very dapper in that shirt and jacket !

He actually looked quite decent 😁.

Jitterybugs · 02/05/2024 08:20

I was wondering last night if he was also Gemma’s dad. Then I remembered they were twins 🙈

Shellingbynight · 02/05/2024 08:29

Just when you think it can’t get any worse, the twins dad turns up. Corrie never know when to stop, you’d think there was enough drama in the fact Paul is dying. (I can see both Mick Hucknall and Ricky Gervais!)

I think the dating storyline was just to prepare us for Steve inevitably getting together with someone on his doorstep.

One thing I did like (I think it was in Monday’s episode) was when Steve was talking to Tim on a bench about Tracy and saying why did I stay with her so long after all she did? And Tim said well you loved her, and Steve said - no. At least the writers are remembering the history, Tracy pursued Steve endlessly for donkeys years and finally got him when he’d run out of options. I never felt he loved her, but she was Amy’s mum and he settled.

Yes the pendant is obviously significant. The invisible boyfriend was always going to be significant, he was mentioned so often but never seen.
