Following on from the last thread.

We're currently up to where Roy has been arrested for (allegedly) killing Lauren, and Roy's dog has been stolen and the thieves are saying the dog won't be returned until Roy admits his guilt.

Leanne is being drawn into a weird cult.

Toyah is arrested for criminal damage for attacking someone's car. (Someone who thinks Roy buried Lauren in the park!) And she doesn't seem quite herself. What is wrong with her?

Joel and DeeDee are on-again-off-again ...

I'm sure there's a few more bits and bobs going on, but there's plenty of space on this thread (and time) to catch up.

Why the need to get Roy to the library though, Griff came into Roys cell whilst he was out, but then came in again when Roy came back, did he plant something, if so why bother?

I thought Joel looked realllllllllly pissed off that he'd 'mishandled' DeeDee... like a man about to make a mistake somewhere..

It was in a bag Lauren left in Maxs room with a box of her hair dye.
David found it when hoovering under Maxs bed and asked him if he was planning on dyeing his hair

When Joel arrived on screen I was so busy telling OH he dunnit that I didn’t hear the mention of cookie! But I am sure the punctuation in the texts which DeeDee mentioned to Roy will also identify him, he looks the pernickety semi colon type.

I agree not much happened last night really. It is grinding on at a snail’s pace and is not interesting enough to see identical scenes featured several days in a row. Roy’s speech to Swain made me want to throttle him, all this has made me question if Roy’s character works any more (I loved him with Hayley).

I didn’t get all the palaver with getting Roy out of his cell either (or care).

I suspect tonight will end with Joel being ‘revealed’, and in following episodes Lauren will be found. I don’t think she’s dead but the way this has all shaped up it might be better if she was.

Not sure why, but every time DeeDee says the word linguistics, I cringe.

I was a bit confused at first but I enjoyed the way it was edited, I actually watched it more closely than usual. I thought there was a surreal quality, almost like a dream sequence throughout much of the episode, but perhaps that was just me. I wonder if Hope will march up to Joel to return the necklace in front of deedee and Swain, would be nice to see him try to get out of that one, and deedee will remember the receipt from the jewellers at Xmas. Hopefully they will find Lauren locked up in his flat. I really hope Kit didn't plant the scrunchie, I don't want him to be a wrong 'un.

I think Griff was hiding in the cell toilet rather than coming back in when he faced Roy.

I would have thought he would be in a remand wing. That Roscoe though. Horrible.

I may be barking up the wrong tree (probably am) but if the "pedantic punctuation " is a clue and not a red herring than that counts Nathan out as I can't see it applying to him. Detective Kit may find something incriminating on the USB drives though.

The only ones I can think of that may be pedantic about punctuation are Roy, Daniel, Ken and Joel 🤷🏻‍♀️

Poor Roy, though. 'Sorry, love, you didn't send enough texts to prove your innocence. The bad guy knows how to punctuate too'. Um, what? Isn't it the prosecution that's supposed to be proving things? Wasn't there general rejoicing that the baddie had misspelt 'discreet' not that long ago?

I think Nathan is a red herring. Hopefully the USB keys will be full of shady stuff that gets him put away again though. Did they say if Lauren got many messages from her supposed killer? If so that would go in Roy's favour surely, considering he so rarely sends texts.

I don't remember them saying about the frequency of the tests Lauren got, just that Roy didn't send enough poor bloke!

You could be right about Nathan, but I do think it's more likely that he's got a connection to someone on the street that we haven't had revealed yet. I just don't see the writers allowing Nathan anything resembling a redemption arc, for a sex offender they need to be so careful with how they portray him. If it turns out he's innocent this time then it just gives the wrong impression for me. I could be wrong though!

It would be odd if Nathan turned up just before the Lauren reveal, had a lot of screen time this week, but had nothing to do with it.

I'm still on Monday's episode, so have skipped the latest comments.
I just have to say though, I am finding CS so incredibly boring at the moment. It's made worse by the fact that the episodes are an hour long.
I'd much rather be watching Eastenders.
Just watched Bethany in the police station with Craig and I swear her voice got shriller by the second!

Think it's better for 30 mins, wish they'd cut down the episodes permanently and have 3 a week
