We're currently up to where Roy has been arrested for (allegedly) killing Lauren, and Roy's dog has been stolen and the thieves are saying the dog won't be returned until Roy admits his guilt.

Leanne is being drawn into a weird cult.

Toyah is arrested for criminal damage for attacking someone's car. (Someone who thinks Roy buried Lauren in the park!) And she doesn't seem quite herself. What is wrong with her?

Joel and DeeDee are on-again-off-again ...

I'm sure there's a few more bits and bobs going on, but there's plenty of space on this thread (and time) to catch up.

I reckon the video was faked by Cassie using Abi's Wetherfield Gazette interview.

Yes, my first thought that Abi's face might have been superimposed on some random by a tech wiz. Hope she's not going to pay up - she might have other plans though.

Seems as though they're reviving Cassie's obsession with Kev.

I too was on pins about Roscoe until Stu vouched for him. Still a bit wary though.

I don't reckon Cassie or DodgyDean have the brains to deepfake a sex-tape of Abi, and what are the chances of there having been the tech to record AND the wherewithall to hold on to, a real tape of Abi from back then, she's been pretty clean and hanging out with normal folks (with the odd wobble) for some time now.

I think its the enraged media bod from this documentary. They'd have the skills and tech to do it.

Did anyone else get the feeling that Abbie knew that Cassie was just outside and only pretended to call Dean? She (and possibly Kev, if she really wants to be with the sanctimonious git) will turn up at the meeting place to find Cassie and catch her out.

It made no sense that she'd be offering to pay Dean when he'd already carried out his threat; blackmail doesn't work like that!

And no mention of the fact that Jack will probably see the video; that would concern me most of all.

Yes we thought this! She seemed to deliberately leave the shutter open a fraction, then glanced back when she came off the phone too. The call sounded like she wasn't talking to anyone either!

I cannot get on board with the 'more misery for Abi' storyline. But yes I think it's a deepfake, she doesn't remember it because she didn't do it. Dean and Cassie wouldn't have that type of techy knowledge. Would the media bod be interested enough and cruel enough to do that to a grieving mother? Cassie would certainly do it, if she could.

@Optimist1 you might be right, either the slightly open door was a clunky plot device, or Abi is onto Cassie. She has no reason to offer money to Dean now - then again Garreh had very little reason to offer £10k to Nathan!

Poor Kev, he has not aged well. Not surprising with all the grief Abi gives him.

I did wonder exactly which version of Abi was on the tape, the new or the old - that would at least date it 😄

Yes there is a big age disparity, Michael LeVell is 59 and Kev must be a similar age. Sally Carman is 43.

Just had a thought ... Max might have the skills to do a deepfake video, and he was angry with Kev about the website, wasn't he?

I must have drifted off but I don't understand how the video Abbi produced for the Gazette and the sex tape would be linked. Surely the Gazette would remove the ST immediately because of illegality issues. Its a serious police matter and why would you give money to a blackmailer after the event?

Abi seems to think it is a real video and she was so out of it she doesn't remember doing it.

I think Max will use his extraordinary skills to recognise it as fake and tell Kevin and Abi. Kevin will be so grateful for his intervention he’ll employ him as assistant manager at the garage. After 2 weeks of training he’ll be a fully fledged mechanic.

I reckon the Gazette video was used for the sex tape. Max is a good suggestion by a previous poster. I think Abi was making a fake phone call to catch Cassie out.

Has Abi rung the police yet because whether it is a deepfake or revenge porn, there’s laws against it and I’m sure Craig or DS Swain will be happy to help or maybe Bernie’s new son who is also a policeman. Three police officers for the whole of Weatherfield lol (I can never make my mind up how it’s spelt even though I’ve been watching Corrie for years)

Cassie (one of the worst additions to the street in a long time) was listening when Dean threatened Abby, I think she went after him and found out what he said and has something to do with the video being posted, she wants Kevin and will probably do anything to get him.

Where are Daisy and Fizz, we haven't seen them for weeks, also Adi seems to have vanished along with them.

I hope Simon is really leaving this time, he's way overstayed his time on the Street.
