Classic Corrie Thread. Now in September 2004.

Continuing from the last thread when 2003 begins! Doesn't time fly in Classic Corrie? The last thread was started 10 months ago, and we have powered through a year and 8 months in that time (20 months.) Wonder where we will be by the end of this one? (If it does eventually come to an end?)

Karen (McDonald) has been stressing about the death of her mum - and trying to be a better person, Martin and Katie are still together, (though Katie's dad Tommy is unimpressed by it,) Kelly Crabtree has just come in, Cilla abandoned Chesney to go on holiday with Les, Sunita and Dev are together at last, and Maya is about to go on a rampage after appearing to forge Sunita's signature for something.

Also, Sean has just come in and started living with Eileen (still is I think!) Jason and Todd are still in it, and Danny Baldwin and his wife Frankie are in charge of Underworld now, with Daniel's 'Uncle Mike' taking lots more time off. Oh, and Danny's son Jamie has just arrived, followed by Frankie and Danny's son Warren...

Charlie the builder is dating Shelly the barmaid, and Sally has just recently started turning into a snob. Jack (Duckworth) was dressed as Ida Fagg posing as a woman for the bowls team, and Norris, Blanche, and Emily have been playing poker!

Roy and Hayley are still together, Ciaran the handsome Irish barman is trying to start up his own business with Penny King, Steve seems to be warming to his little daughter (baby Amy,) and at the moment, there doesn't seem to be much drama with Gail and Audrey's family, or the Barlows, or the Websters, or with Fred and Ashley. Ashley and Clare are dating, but it's still a bit up in the air.

Hope I haven't missed much out, but that covers most stuff going on right now I think. Let's see how much has changed by the end of this thread.

I am about a week behind. Where did the new factory interior come from? In the last episode it was as normal and in the episode I watched today the factory is much larger and has an upstairs. Have I missed an episode?

Yeah I noticed that! I said to my DH today, 'has the factory always had an upstairs?' He was just like So he was as baffled as me.

Danny had a quick refit just after Mike died. He referenced it being modernised.

When Derek and Mavis lived in their house i remember them saying it ,s a two bedroom
Its since grown a third bedroom ,
So theres bo reason why the factory cant double in size and grow an upstairs !

Janice is back and just as hideous as ever.

Yep, she said 'I've changed Mr Baldwin.' But she hasn't. Bit of a silly storyline really, because no way would Danny Baldwin have given her her job back, just because Leanne fluttered her eyelashes. She was sacked. (Although questionably to be fair!) He just booted her out for being gobby, which I'm pretty sure you can't do! There was no verbal warning, no written warning, no disciplinary - nothing. Wouldn't have happened in real life.

I agree with this. The 'doctor' should be struck off! (Matt!) As a poster said earlier, especially as Maxine was too drunk to consent. (Not sure how that could be proven though, as she is sadly not around any longer to confirm or deny.)

Tbf they were both very drunk and i dont think msxine saw it as rape just a huge mistake ,the having sex with his patient though would have probably got him struck off

Yeah, I think you're probably right.

As has been said, the fact Matt had sex with a patient needs to be really focussed on. That, along with the fact that Ashley has been Joshua's dad since birth, he is on the birth certificate as his dad, and he was married to his mother, should all be pretty sufficient evidence/reasons for Matt to not even have access to the boy. Let alone custody. The cheek of him!

He only wants Joshua, because his wife can't have a baby. WTAF? Wasn't interested up to then! If I had got married in my 30s say, (and was childfree up to that point,) and I met a man, and we tried for a baby but I couldn't conceive, I would never support trying to take a child off someone else (just because he was the sperm donor,) when he had had nothing to do with said child for the 4 years since he was born.

Actually I wouldn't support trying to take said child away, even he if he HAD had some contact over the 4 years!
