Classic Corrie Thread. Now in September 2004.

Continuing from the last thread when 2003 begins! Doesn't time fly in Classic Corrie? The last thread was started 10 months ago, and we have powered through a year and 8 months in that time (20 months.) Wonder where we will be by the end of this one? (If it does eventually come to an end?)

Karen (McDonald) has been stressing about the death of her mum - and trying to be a better person, Martin and Katie are still together, (though Katie's dad Tommy is unimpressed by it,) Kelly Crabtree has just come in, Cilla abandoned Chesney to go on holiday with Les, Sunita and Dev are together at last, and Maya is about to go on a rampage after appearing to forge Sunita's signature for something.

Also, Sean has just come in and started living with Eileen (still is I think!) Jason and Todd are still in it, and Danny Baldwin and his wife Frankie are in charge of Underworld now, with Daniel's 'Uncle Mike' taking lots more time off. Oh, and Danny's son Jamie has just arrived, followed by Frankie and Danny's son Warren...

Charlie the builder is dating Shelly the barmaid, and Sally has just recently started turning into a snob. Jack (Duckworth) was dressed as Ida Fagg posing as a woman for the bowls team, and Norris, Blanche, and Emily have been playing poker!

Roy and Hayley are still together, Ciaran the handsome Irish barman is trying to start up his own business with Penny King, Steve seems to be warming to his little daughter (baby Amy,) and at the moment, there doesn't seem to be much drama with Gail and Audrey's family, or the Barlows, or the Websters, or with Fred and Ashley. Ashley and Clare are dating, but it's still a bit up in the air.

Hope I haven't missed much out, but that covers most stuff going on right now I think. Let's see how much has changed by the end of this thread.

You could also get a recorder box. We have a Freesat one. We record Current Corrie and Classic Corrie, then watch it later on (so we can cut out all the breaks.) We do it with anything that has ad breaks to be honest

That's exactly what i do. Set it to record the afternoon ones on ITV3 and watch later, skipping through the ads.

Just watched today's first episode of Classic Corrie, and it was so good! Steve doing karaoke in the cab office, Rita being busted by Norris in the bedroom wardrobe, (Peekaboo Rita!) 😆 Bev mocking Shelley's 'tragic' cardigan, Claire having a dig at the mucky cab office, Sally making Kev cook tea because he invited an extra guest!

I PRAY that it starts to get like this again one day. It's just got so much fun and laughter in it - yeah there's some serious stuff, like Gail's mysterious stalker/card sender, and Kelly being sacked for something she didn't do, but it's got some giggles and light hearted moments too.

Looking forward to the second episode. Watching it later.

I laughed at Rita in the wardrobe and Steve doing karaoke. You’re right, we need more laughs in Current Corrie. What I don’t get though is why Matt thinks he should have access to Joshua when he isn’t on the birth certificate and he’s never seen him until now so he doesn’t even have any kind of relationship with him

I was saying something like this to DH earlier. I am not an expert in family law, but I am certain that Matt would not be allowed any access to Joshua - or have any 'custody rights.' Ashley has been his father since he was born, he is down as the father on the birth certificate, and he was married to Joshua's mother!

(Poor Bev getting it in the neck from Ashley when she called Matt Joshua's 'real father.') 😬

And now, we know who has been sending all the cards to Gail............ don't we???

@SabreIsMyFave I’m not an expert either but I can’t see a judge (if it gets that far) give Matt access. I’m surprised a solicitor would even send Ashley that letter

Gail didn’t think to call the police to stop them hounding Phil. I’d have taken David to the police station and told him to confess. Great acting from Jack P Shepherd though.

And with Joshua — who’s around to say Matt having sex with Maxine was consensual. I’d be suggesting to Matt I might just say it wasn’t…… ( but then I’m a bitch)

WTF is wrong with ITV3+1 today. Freezing and jumping all over the place

I haven't watch Classic Corrie today yet. I record it on the Freesat box, and me and DH watch it with dinner. It records on ITV3 though (and not the plus 1) so hopefully it's OK. Have you got a lot of wind around you? (LOL not farts, but blustery outside winds?) That can affect the transmission sometimes.

I'm just trying to watch it now on my freesat box and its freezing, jumping around and jerky stop start sound. So annoying.

Subtitles are all out of sync too.

It was the same on itv 3. Weirdly though I could watch it on my phone on sky go no problem

God, this is annoying. Its still as bad through the ads and into the 2nd half.

I watched on itv3 with no problems so maybe it was area dependent?

Is anyone that has issues, living in east London?
