Classic Corrie Thread. Now in September 2004.

Continuing from the last thread when 2003 begins! Doesn't time fly in Classic Corrie? The last thread was started 10 months ago, and we have powered through a year and 8 months in that time (20 months.) Wonder where we will be by the end of this one? (If it does eventually come to an end?)

Karen (McDonald) has been stressing about the death of her mum - and trying to be a better person, Martin and Katie are still together, (though Katie's dad Tommy is unimpressed by it,) Kelly Crabtree has just come in, Cilla abandoned Chesney to go on holiday with Les, Sunita and Dev are together at last, and Maya is about to go on a rampage after appearing to forge Sunita's signature for something.

Also, Sean has just come in and started living with Eileen (still is I think!) Jason and Todd are still in it, and Danny Baldwin and his wife Frankie are in charge of Underworld now, with Daniel's 'Uncle Mike' taking lots more time off. Oh, and Danny's son Jamie has just arrived, followed by Frankie and Danny's son Warren...

Charlie the builder is dating Shelly the barmaid, and Sally has just recently started turning into a snob. Jack (Duckworth) was dressed as Ida Fagg posing as a woman for the bowls team, and Norris, Blanche, and Emily have been playing poker!

Roy and Hayley are still together, Ciaran the handsome Irish barman is trying to start up his own business with Penny King, Steve seems to be warming to his little daughter (baby Amy,) and at the moment, there doesn't seem to be much drama with Gail and Audrey's family, or the Barlows, or the Websters, or with Fred and Ashley. Ashley and Clare are dating, but it's still a bit up in the air.

Hope I haven't missed much out, but that covers most stuff going on right now I think. Let's see how much has changed by the end of this thread.

(I loved Are You Being Served, they should put it on instead of Carry On movies. In my defence I was about 13, and I'm sure it is highly inappropriate nowadays!)

Jamie and Adam are really adding something at the moment, great to see Mark too. I gave up on Corrie some time ago but what a shame they didn’t run the factory together. Leanne and Janice are horrible - actually prefer Cilla to Janice which is saying something.

Agree. I love how Les seems to adore Chesney. (And Chesney adores him!) 😁 What a sweet relationship they have.

Yes that would have been an interesting storyline, really the factory should have been split three ways Mike was so confused at the end
He did make up with Mark at some point I remember at Fred and Eves wedding I think ?Mark turned up and they threw Linda out ?and Mike did seem to forgive him
He also tried to send a letter to Mark and Danny said he would post it but didn't.

I really REALLY don't like Keith, and I think him and Audrey together is just daft. She is a woman who likes the finer things in life, and likes to be 'treated' by a man. She likes chivalry, and being treated like a lady. No way would she go for a miserable, penny-pinching, tight old buggar like Keith. 😆

I hope he gets written out soon. He is getting jealous of Archie, so maybe that will finish off him and Audrey. I hope so!

He was only on his late 50,s when he filmed this! I agree they don't match at all but I think he's very careful rather than being tight he's having to bring up Craig on a pittance and as always in corrie he doesn't seem to have heard of the welfare state, as surely he would be entitled to tax credits ,housing benefit etc???

Actually he was only 53/54 he was born in 1n 1951 and is 74 now so 20 years ago early ish 50,s he looks 20 years older!

I have to agree @x2boys Keith does look older than a man who is only 3-4 years out of his 40s!

Looks like Audrey is starting to tire of Keith. Especially seeing Rita in Archie's flashy car - on the way to the theatre. (Whilst Keith wants to take her on an over 60s meetup on the canal bank!)

Episode 2 today was very funny - Norris reporting Rita fanning herself with People’s Friend, the party at Les and Cilla’s with Cilla and friend doing River Dance and Danny calling Leanne Chewbacca - Kelly still has foundation on her collar 😊

I agree. It was funny. Cilla and her friend doing River Dance made me LOL! 😆 We need more of this kind of thing in 2020s Corrie! More laughs, more silliness and less bloody gangsters and crime!!! And Danny calling Leanne Chewbacca made me LOL too. Also makes me laugh when Danny calls Fizz 'Fuzz!' 😆

I really DETEST those bloody awful haircuts that the young blokes have though (Craig, Adam, and David!) I don't remember this cut being popular in the mid noughties... Maybe for a few months in the early-mid 1990s - but not 10-12 years later. It's hideous. They look like a conker!

We were laughing at the hair too! Justin Beiber look or something? Terrible. Audrey is getting itchy feet isn’t she? Good. He is a mismog and she can do better.

Oh yeah, Justin Bieber had this hairstyle around mid-late noughties! That looked daft too. 😆

And I agree that Audrey can do better than Keith. I have said this a few times during this thread. I can't stand Keith. He is incredibly unappealing. I can't think of a single redeeming feature that he has. He is so dull and boring and miserable. And so tight fisted too.

I know several people said he is probably watching the pennies as he is trying to look after his grandson, but he never wants to do anything, and never wants to spend a single penny on anything hardly. Dragging Audrey around the canal paths, fishing, and camping and suchlike was farcical. As if Audrey would have wanted to do that! They were so hilariously mismatched. She saw Rita with Archie (the undertaker) and I think that's what pushed her into ending it with Keith. She could see how awful he really was. I would rather stay single for life than be stuck with a miserable, penny pinching curmudgeon like Keith!

I keep thinking Adam is Craig and vice versa because of the matching hair! Was very confused as to why Keith was shouting at Adam to get in and revise instead of hanging about the streets 😂

Why don’t Keith or Craig ever go to see Angela, or even mention her? And surely her sentence must be finished soon?
