Classic Corrie Thread. Now in September 2004.

Continuing from the last thread when 2003 begins! Doesn't time fly in Classic Corrie? The last thread was started 10 months ago, and we have powered through a year and 8 months in that time (20 months.) Wonder where we will be by the end of this one? (If it does eventually come to an end?)

Karen (McDonald) has been stressing about the death of her mum - and trying to be a better person, Martin and Katie are still together, (though Katie's dad Tommy is unimpressed by it,) Kelly Crabtree has just come in, Cilla abandoned Chesney to go on holiday with Les, Sunita and Dev are together at last, and Maya is about to go on a rampage after appearing to forge Sunita's signature for something.

Also, Sean has just come in and started living with Eileen (still is I think!) Jason and Todd are still in it, and Danny Baldwin and his wife Frankie are in charge of Underworld now, with Daniel's 'Uncle Mike' taking lots more time off. Oh, and Danny's son Jamie has just arrived, followed by Frankie and Danny's son Warren...

Charlie the builder is dating Shelly the barmaid, and Sally has just recently started turning into a snob. Jack (Duckworth) was dressed as Ida Fagg posing as a woman for the bowls team, and Norris, Blanche, and Emily have been playing poker!

Roy and Hayley are still together, Ciaran the handsome Irish barman is trying to start up his own business with Penny King, Steve seems to be warming to his little daughter (baby Amy,) and at the moment, there doesn't seem to be much drama with Gail and Audrey's family, or the Barlows, or the Websters, or with Fred and Ashley. Ashley and Clare are dating, but it's still a bit up in the air.

Hope I haven't missed much out, but that covers most stuff going on right now I think. Let's see how much has changed by the end of this thread.

Especially as maxine was probably too drunk to consent too.

Why would Keith have got Charlie to repair the roof if it’s a rented house? Going on about having to replace carpets when it’s the landlord’s responsibility.
Tracey hadn’t twigged what a nasty bastard Charlie is yet, sees it all as a game.
I might have been tempted to put laxatives in his next tiramisu.

And isn’t the landlord a landlady? (Natalie) unless it got sold at some point offscreen.

I don't get it either, why Keith got a builder in for the leaky roof. He's renting. It's a landlord issue. You don't pay for your own repairs when you rent!

Also, it looks like David is becoming sweet on Maria. After she was nice to him yesterday.

Keith is just awful. I'll be glad when he leaves.

When did Craig and Rosie de-goth themselves? I didn't see it happen. 😆

I was saying to my DH about Keith's rented house, why would he be organising repairs?
My DH is a builder and rarely gets involved with works on a rental unless it's direct from the landlord.
He's been caught out once before with a fence that needed replacing when the tenant asked for the work to be done and then said he'd get the landlord to pay.

Well, exactly!

I had a door knocker giving me a price for garden and jet washing (it was in a state), I lied and told him it was rented. He told me a new law had been introduced where a tenant could pay for work up to £500 and legally could claim it back from the landlord! You can imagine my response

on the other side my friend who is landlord for one house told me she's told her tenants in an emergency they should contact emergency trades themselves for up to £250 so they don’t have to contact her in the middle of the night to fix an issue. Again imagine my response when I told her nope I’ll be ringing you to sort

I noticed that, Amber will find it so useful! - can’t believe it was in use such a relatively short time ago and how fast things have moved on

I noticed that and it waa only 14 inch i was pregnant at this time with my now 18 year old and we difinitly had moved on from the big backed tvs by the time he was a toddler aa i remember him accidentally whacking our first 32 inch ( i think ) tv with his in the night garden watering can and causing the screen to split
I think plasma tv,s were popular for a short time?

@x2boys i love that you remember the exact watering can he did it with. I thought teletext stopped being a thing late 90’s. Stupid old Kieth thinking he could take on Charlie and crowing about it… he really should have known.

Has amber just arrived? I remember really liking her, was she dev's niece or something?

amber is one of devs illegitimate children from all his shop girls, it came out that he had a few of them. She has been cropping up for quite a while and is the reason Sunita has left him because she found out about his brood.

Yeah they are a few months old but sunita left Dev shortly after they were born so we dont see them agsin for a few years.

Yes. They are with Sunita (Who I think is about to return if what Dev said it true.) They were born January 2006, and we are in (I think) May 2006 now. So they're like 4-ish months old.

Lovely people, just watched on ITVX the first of this afternoon’s episodes , went to watch the next and it’s jumped to Sinead and Daniel !

Scroll down a little bit - and you will see 'latest episodes' on the left, and you should see Sean's face with his dad (Tim Healy) Just underneath... Good luck!
