Tori would have been better sticking with Lauren as a friend and doing something together.
Jack is ruining her.

I agree; a podcast with the two of them would have been great!

ReadyTeddy1000 · 19/04/2024 10:36

Interesting how much worse Eden's anxiety is, the longer she's with Jayden

Glazedchristmasham · 19/04/2024 10:36

@TinselAngel great idea, thank you! I'll give that a go 🤞

It’s clear to see isn’t it? When she was explaining to camera last night how she fears confrontations with Jayden as it never ends and she can’t see a way out of it other than to just blindly agree to make him stop. That’s abuse right there, plain for everyone to see.

burnoutbabe · 19/04/2024 10:56

as someone with anxiety it was hard to see Eden. I know when i am like that i just need to escape. So go outside, quietly. Partner can come with or just know i am "okay" to be left alone to quietly recover. or distract me by talking about anything that is NOT the issue - ie chat about tv show we are watching or what share he wants to buy next.

so her saying to go back to the dinner party made sense. having a discussion then is not productive. there must be tons of people who realise that the whole experience is high drama and they can't handle it well. producers should pull them out when that happens.

(or they just make an excuse to miss the dinner party or have a pre-agreed "going out for air" and there is a quiet PRIVATE space to retreat to if needed)

also it never seems logical that a contestant may want to leave the experiement but also still date the person. Its presented as all or nothing. Which makes sense if jayden was there for the expeiment/fame only. Same as jonno NOT going to stay with Lauren when she needed surgery.

MaggieFS · 19/04/2024 12:40

The thing is - and I thoroughly dislike Jayden, don't get me wrong - in almost very other circumstance apart from an anxiety attack, staying with your upset partner rather than leaving them alone, would be the right thing to do. Also the whole Dens sections were incredibly heavily edited with the flashbacks. We don't know how long those sections actually lasted or what she was really thinking. Most notably, the bit where it looked like he was mansplaining at her, we don't know if it went on and on as portrayed.

Regardless, I can't understand why she is so keen to preserve their relationship.

I really hope the cheating allegation isn't Jonno. He and Lauren seem to have got to such a good place. I loved it when he said 'are you blushing, I didn't think that was possible'.

We still need to see if someone is thrown out. Thoughts:

  1. Jack for controlling behaviour
  2. Jack and Tori for being fake and not doing the ixperiment properly
  3. Eden for medical reasons
MaggieFS · 19/04/2024 12:58

In the interests of research for the sake of this thread, I've just rewatched the original intro. Ixpert John says "so I'm going to cut to the chase, we need to just kick you out". And it then cuts to a shocked looking Tori on a cream sofa. But that's not the hot seat sofa in the commitment ceremonies, and it looks like she's observing rather than being directly addressed.

So:
It's not Jack or Tori that get thrown out
Or
It's edited to look like that and the shot of Tori is from a different episode

Either way, I have too much time on my hands whilst at home with poorly DC.

TinselAngel · 19/04/2024 13:02

If nobody gets kicked out and that bit is fake I shall be cross after waiting all series for it.

Glazedchristmasham · 19/04/2024 13:10

I don't know if any of you watched The Underdog; Josh Must Win, but after they showed exactly how all the manipulation is done to get the desired story arc, I don't think I can ever take a 'reality' program at face value again. It's all BS!

Catlord · 19/04/2024 13:13

I think jack's parents were at the wedding. Not sure why they weren't at the home stay. Maybe he lives away.

It was difficult to watch poor Eden. I was hoping Lucinda or Ridge would see what was happening and come in to look after her.

I've had anxiety linked to some meds and god, it's awful. I've never felt so grateful for my lovely DP than watching that.

She was doing extremely well to even be there and Jayden had zero understanding despite Eden explaining quite clearly this time. Do they need a public health campaign for hearing tests for Australian men or something? Richard, Jayden, I'm wondering whether there is some kind of ear damaging bug going around. Carping on and on about totally inconsequential matters when all she needed was quiet reassurance and space. He doesn't have the maturity to differentiate TV drama from what feels at the time like a very real and scary health situation.

She seems to have accepted his insisting that he's a good guy and is hanging on but I'm hoping with a bit of space will realise his perspective on life and how he visits it on others will cause her MH to get so much worse. He has no concept of his own flaws but a very clear magnifying glass on everyone else's including hers.

Jade needs to slow down, Ridge has a much more realistic timeline for finding a new nursing job in a different trust (not sure how it is in Aus but assuming similar), getting to know DD better etc.

Lauren looked stunning!!

I reckon Jack proposed to Tori in quite a cynical -but-not-awful way on the honeymoon 'look, you're a very attractive woman but not my type. I don't want to lead you on, so we can either leave early, or now you've left your job etc, see it through to see what opportunities come up afterwards and play it as the power couple (insert flattery). We will defend the relationship and not humiliate each other by bonking any other participants. What do you think?'

I think Tori agreed to stay in, secretly hoping he will change his mind and because she didn't want to have to slink home early. Then he has decided to play the villain by letting hints out whereas she's stuck to it to the letter. That's either out of devilment to push her boundaries because she makes it so easy, or going for bad boy notoriety showing how he can treat em mean and still keep em keen.

She looks upset because he isn't really sticking to the spirit of the agreement but she can't see how to back out now. That's my theory! Her naivety probably plays a part, isn't she quite a bit younger? 27 to his 34 or so?

A cheap bracelet and one shag isn't a great sacrifice when he probably thinks he's made a name for himself but she thinks he may be coming round. So goes my conspiracy!! It's a bit sad and icky.

This has been bugging me throughout the series. There has been so much shifty behaviour that I’ve been anticipating the showdown for a number of couch sessions!

kenyaswhiterefrigerator · 19/04/2024 13:42

Re Jack's parents at the wedding I think a lot of time people are just not shown to build the storyline.

On So Dramatic there was an interview with one of Jack's clients

Jack's family was apparently at the wedding but we weren't shown them because the storyline was that he only had clients there.

The clients have are actually friends and colleagues at the gym they all work at.

Tori's mum was at the lunch with Jack's friends but wasn't shown.

So lord alone knows what we also haven't been shown

MaggieFS · 19/04/2024 13:51

I think Jack's family were there, IIRC at least a couple of sisters? BUT the point was that he didn't have any friends in addition, only clients.

how can Tori’s mum have been there when Tori was getting bullied by that nasty cow?!! 😱

MagpiePi · 19/04/2024 14:32

Just catching up on last night’s dinner party episode.

Interesting that Tim has gone from ‘Sara cheated on me and I was completely broken’ to ‘Sara made little mistake and lied to me about catching up with her ex but she’s actually a lovely, affectionate person’

Jack just held his nose and shagged Tori to prove a point. I bet it was very average.

murasaki · 19/04/2024 14:43

Jayden was going at Eden too hard, but by christ I'd find her impossible if she's constantly flip flopping. If she's not well enough to be there, which she isn't, she needs to leave and take care of herself. Shutting down doesn't make it better for her, and he doesn't learn anything from it, which would be good for him too. They need to go now.

Re next week, I thought it was Jade crying, but that could be a red herring. Maybe Jack and Ridge were bad on a boys night out?

murasaki · 19/04/2024 14:45

Running nipples out into the sunset was hilarious, and I vote Tim the Elder shall.henceforth be known as Sticky Tim.

Tim is weak and a little desperate. 🌹

I definitely believe Tori and Jack didn't have sex and set up Ridge and Jade by texting him. They knew it would leak and so they didn't have to 'make an announcement'.

But I struggle to see how Tori and Jack would have entered a pact about the 'romance'. Jack would be capable, he's showing very little emotion and doesnt care about others. But Tori just seems naive. She does seem to believe what Jack is telling her whilst forgetting to LOOK, as the ixperts pointed out so many times. The way she got excited about him wanting kids in the next couple of years. I just don't think she's that actress. She also gets so defensive when others question her judgement and Jack's intentions, whereas he does not react at all. I'm in the camp of 'he's stringing her along, they made up the sex thing to shut others down as obv they know how it looks, but Tori is doing some gymnastics in her head to explain the lack of sex with 'good things take time' to herself.' Jack manipulates her and she does have no concept of what it looks like to be treated well by a man.

Villagetoraiseachild · 19/04/2024 15:21

Delulu is a good word!

MaggieFS · 19/04/2024 15:36

It's funny how they spend so much air time repeating what we saw last episode or before an ad break, but they don't revisit the initial intro clips. I have just watched a few snippets. Tori didn't want someone with a big ego. Lucinda had a whole scroll of what she wanted, which included emotional intelligence.

Choux · 19/04/2024 16:02

Re who's been cheating... Jade cries a lot at other people's CC stories so I don't think that means it was Ridge. Tori also shows genuine emotions while watching and hearing about the others' journeys.

But Lauren has never really cried during the series so far. She is the acerbic wit of the participants. Even after Jonno didn't support her on muzzle night she was hurt but she wasn't upset. If she has been shown crying there is a reason.

I think Jonno saw Ellie while Lauren was in Perth and he was in Sydney alone. And then he went to Perth to see Lauren and shagged her. They confirmed last night they had been intimate as Lucinda asked. I think the experts will have all the evidence on Jonno and Ellie and he will be the one being thrown out.

Looking forward to Monday night!

Started watching after seeing the medium on gogglebox and was intrigued. Binge watched till I caught up. And have been lurking on her since thread 3/4. Just had to jump in and say that if it is Jono cheating on Lauren I will be genuinely upset. Really hope it's one of the others. Also while I'm here, and to quote a PP, if I could move to Byron Bay and live in that lovely apartment with Lucinda while she wore that gorgeous pink dress, I would definitely change sides.
