Bodies, Netflix (not the hospital drama)

This is a crime/sci fi drama set in 4 different periods - 1890s, 1940s, late 2020s and 2050s. Quite intriguing. Anybody watching?

My dh is currently watching this and is really enjoying it.

Don’t read if you haven’t seen Episode 3 I think it is (though might be Ep 2)

It’s not really a spoiler, as when the 2050s Detective (can’t remember her name) meets the Chairman she says Hello Chairman Maddix, sir (or something similar) which is Elias’ surname. So I inferred it was him. Ofc it might not be, but I was assuming that’s where it’s going.

I’m up to Ep 3. Really enjoying it.
Interested to see how it pans out.

It does look like there are going to be lots of small details like that which will tie it together.

This reminds me of when they say “blessed be the fruit” in The Handmaids Tale.

Is it coincidence that all 4 detectives are from groups that have suffered discrimination (homosexual, Jewish, black/muslim, disabled)? Am wondering if this is some subtext.

I've watched 2 episodes so far.
It's show but has a very interesting premise.
I will stick with it.

Finished it today. Loved it. Now I'm lost as to what I should watch next.

Just finished watching the last episode, loved it too, different to anything I've watched in ages. The actress who plays DC Maplewood was great in Unorthodox, another drama on Netflix.

The actor that plays the Jewish detective is gorgeous. I thinks it's time pencil moustaches made a come back.

I've only seen two and a half episodes but it's obvious by the end of the second ep that they are the same character. And all through the half of ep 3 that I've seen it seems clear that the audience is meant to know they are the same person.

I'm enjoying it but it's making me feel a bit odd, that in a series that's clearly making a point about the importance of minority people in Britain, with the main detectives being gay, Jewish, Muslim and disabled, that the Jewish character is a criminal. I first thought he was, or at least thought he was, S.O.E. but no, he's just a money grubbing dirty cop.

It's not subtext because subtext would be subtle. This is repeatedly smash you over the head, roar it through the screen-text

@Wanderingowl I took it that the Jewish cop was marginalised and vulnerable but was also not adverse to dodgy stuff to build up money (as it was implied were a lot of he cops at Whitechapel - regardless of background) - he referenced keeping his money at his mums in case the UK went the same way as Germany - which I suppose was a very real fear for British Jews in 1941.
