This is a crime/sci fi drama set in 4 different periods - 1890s, 1940s, late 2020s and 2050s. Quite intriguing. Anybody watching?

I'm watching it's quite different , reminds me of dark .

CoteDAzur · 21/10/2023 14:39

It starts out OK, a bit on the slow side, but then develops into an outstanding SF series. I loved it.

WhereShallWeGo · 21/10/2023 15:38

I’m watching it - just finished E3. Gripping!!!

Rollergirl11 · 21/10/2023 15:56

I saw this on Netflix yesterday and watched the trailer for it. Looks like a really original premise. Have it lined up to watch once we’ve finished Fall of the house of Usher

BigMandsTattooPortfolio · 21/10/2023 15:57

Ooh looking forward to this. It’s getting great reviews.

TucSandwich · 21/10/2023 15:59

Found Ep1 a bit slow but will keep watching. Not a Sci Fi fan though (thought it was crime).

SharonTheHappySquirrel · 21/10/2023 16:00

We have watched 2 episodes so far, enjoying it

OvaHere · 21/10/2023 16:13

Just finished watching this. I really liked it - it's very well done and there's a lot of attention to detail in the various time periods.

There's a few bits in the finale that were a little too 'convenient' in tying it all up but overall it was more satisfying than a lot of shows that attempt this sort of plot.

MuddlerInLaw · 21/10/2023 16:57

I’m watching.

It started brilliantly - every single thing is convincing and it’s gratifyingly ambitious. But by Ep 3 I was thinking ‘Oh, really, that again?’. And Ep 4 is a little slow and disappointing so far. But it probably is better than most things - so I’ll keep going …

Is there a bit in a stately home type place? Somewhere near me was used to film something which sounds familiar

AmyJohnsonsplane · 21/10/2023 16:59

Just watched ep 1. Looking forward to 2. @Tittyfilarious81. I loved dark!

Italiangreyhound · 21/10/2023 18:58

It's brilliant. I'm on episode 3.

Awrite · 21/10/2023 19:11

I'm watching episode 1. Loving it so far. The 1890 detective reminds me of Pacey from Dawson's Creek. Albeit a bearded, English one.

Thereyougo10 · 21/10/2023 19:22

Loving it, on episode 6

Mochudubh · 21/10/2023 19:23

I gave up after about 40 mins of Episode 1. It was so slow. The Victorian scenes didn't seem to to fit, The street scene looked a bit like a western. I liked Kyle Soller in Poldark but he was just so wooden in this.

I might give it another go though.

Tigresswoods · 21/10/2023 21:53

I'm loving it but why has young Elias got such weird eyes!?!?!

MuddlerInLaw · 22/10/2023 01:52

Finished.

Eight episodes was too long for the material involved - but somehow still didn’t give enough time to building empathy with more peripheral but crucial characters.

Curious mixture of quality and tosh.

I'm loving it but why has young Elias got such weird eyes!?!?!

I wondered that. The actor appears to have dark brown eyes naturally. I assumed it was to make him look more like the adult Stephen Graham but whilst Graham does have lighter eyes they're nothing like the contact lens young Elias is wearing.

Unless the purpose was just to make him look a bit weird and manic like.

Tigresswoods · 22/10/2023 13:48

I think we should make "know you are loved" the new "be kind"

mrsnjw · 22/10/2023 14:13

I've just finished house of usher and started this. I'm enjoying it so far

Gothambutnotahamster · 22/10/2023 14:29

Have watched 4 episodes so far - I'm enjoying it as I cant figure it out, so hope it ends well!

It's one show where i don't want any spoilers as its the intrigue thats the best part!

clarepetal · 22/10/2023 14:40

Am halfway through, and I love it! X

titchy · 22/10/2023 14:48

Loving it so far.

Stephen Graham's accent is awful though (was in Venom too) - he cannot seem to lose the Scouser!

Same here. Is it worth persevering? Seemed so dull.

Aaaagh! Massive spoiler there!!! 😡😡

Im watching but only up to Ep4. I can’t un-know this now.
