Have a knot in my stomach just now from watching the 1 minute finale trailer.

I think I’ll need a Valium to get through the 90 mins next week.

Ooh do you have a link

There's no way Jess is going to be US CEO, that is way too random. But she could have left Kendall for Matsson. I would think it's more likely she is just going elsewhere. Why leave Kendall because of his support of fascists just to align with Matsson?

slamfightbrightlight · 23/05/2023 08:50

Yes, I think Jess just doesn’t want the Mencken association. I don’t think Mencken wants a Roy association so would make sense that Matsson has offered a non-Roy CEO. Frank and Karl just want out at this stage I think though I could see them being part of a handover committee. Matsson despises Tom but does love chaos, so who knows. Anything but Gerri at this stage would be a disappointment! No trailers for me, I like coming to the episodes blind!

betsyannegrey · 23/05/2023 08:52

I think Toms going to come out on top with Greg as his right hand man

The kids will have frittered it all away

The two clowns, from right back in season one, will triumph

I would love it to be Gerri though!

Lady Caroline bears a striking resemblance to my MIL both in appearance but more especially in behaviour. You might think I'm exaggerating but sadly I'm not!

MustardGreenAndPlum · 23/05/2023 08:55

Jess won’t be CEO but she could definitely be his new assistant. Sinking ship and all that.

AgentProvocateur · 23/05/2023 09:06

What day/time is this shown in the U.K.? I’m overseas, so I watch it on Tuesday night, but I’d love to see the final ‘live’ so I don’t see spoilers!

greennotepad · 23/05/2023 09:08

It airs at about 2am in the UK I think!

WheelsUp · 23/05/2023 09:21

Jess seems like she'd fit in the people at GoJo better as they are younger but I don't think that she'll be CEO because Matsson doesn't like women much imo and would rather give it to someone like Ebba who he could control. Gerri would be a sensible choice but I think that Mencken and Matsson will definitely pick a man.

It was sweet that Connor had a moment with his dad that the others didn't know about (the mausoleum)

Sunday night in the US. Monday 2am in the UK.

Roman's breakdown at the funeral was so well done. It was genuinely emotional when he asked them to get his dad out of the coffin.

Lenovolaptop · 23/05/2023 09:42

Maybe Matson is going to double cross Shiv and offer the CEO to Kendall? All Kendall really wants to to be CEO and keep the business in the family, he'd screw Roman over for that.

Otherwise no way will Greg be CEO. He has, what 2 years experience as Tom's assistant? You don't become CEO off the back of that but Greg may get rewarded elsewhere with a good job if he has been spying for Matson.

Tom would be the most logical person within the 'family' since he has worked his way up in the business. He actually has experience which the kids, especially Shiv, seem to be missing. However, I fear Tom is heading for a heart attack.

Lenovolaptop · 23/05/2023 09:42

Jess presumably has been offered a job by Matson but not CEO

slamfightbrightlight · 23/05/2023 09:46

Is it CEO of Waystar as a whole or just ATN? I’m not sure Tom has the experience across the whole empire to make it to CEO. More than Shiv, certainly, but still. I don’t think Mencken would agree to Kendall because he’s come across so useless and intimidated whenever they have an interaction.

slamfightbrightlight · 23/05/2023 09:47

I assume Jess is new Ebba but equally there was no indication she was going to GoJo, there are probably other global megacorps nepobabies she could be assisting!

James Cromwell is on the podcast this week. He's a force of nature.

Do you have a link for this or point me in right direction ti hear it please

LaviniasBigBloomers · 23/05/2023 09:52

I'm not sure the level of experience/competence of Greg or Tom is the dealbreaker here. The point is that these horrible people are king-makers, the market and the government are adjuncts to their power and money making. And the leader doesn't matter in Mattson's world because the algo is king.

I think it's going to be Greg.

As it's a bank holiday next week we're planning a succession breakfast!

I love this idea and have research material!

ffauxlivia · 23/05/2023 10:05

They may not have time to wrap up every character next week so I wonder if that was Jess's last scene - the ones with morals get out, and Jess found hers - Mencken was her line she won't cross.

If we don't see Colin next week that means he turns Kendal down and is also out of the company for good.

I think the Marcia kindness to Kerry was partly as she saw that Kerry was genuinely upset, that maybe it wasn't all just about the money and she actually loved Logan at least a little bit .....
OR it's still a power thing - she's already ensured that Kerry is out with no money etc from Logan, so Kerry is no threat to her anymore. Sort of similar to how Caroline is with Sally -Anne - when your position is so established you can look more powerful by extending 'kindness' to those below you.
Regardless I absolutely loved those scenes with the 4 exes

Sisisimone · 23/05/2023 10:09

At first I thought it was Greg in the car but now I think it's Tom.

slamfightbrightlight · 23/05/2023 10:11

Good point @ffauxlivia. Plus, Kerry brought a lawyer to the funeral as she was concerned she’d be blocked from entry. Seems like while the siblings and hangers on have been scheming she’s been actually grieving and living in a state of considerable distress. The gesture from Marcia seemed right to me in that context - she’s won, there’s nothing else to make the girl suffer for.

Yes I agree

franke · 23/05/2023 10:21

I agree too. The expression on his face when listening to the two childhood anecdotes was one of devastation.

IAmcuriousyellow · 23/05/2023 10:26

How much more humiliation can Roman take though - the insulting deep fake Kendall sent him after the Living+ event “Roman has a microdick” and now somebody recorded his keening in his breakdown “like a sow anticipating the stun gun” or similar
I mean I know he’s appalling but as someone said above doesn’t he break your heart? And Caroline just stared at him
