27 nominations for the Emmys this year - all the main cast for acting, either in the main or supporting categories, nearly every guest actor has (deservedly) been nominated too. Also best drama (obvs) + production design, casting, costumes, 3 nods for directing including surely the winner Mark Mylod for Connor's Wedding. 3 nods for editing, music, of course writing for Jesse Armstrong for Connor's Wedding.

Wow! And in true Roy sibling style, they’ll come home empty handed in the night.

For those looking for some sort of Succession replacement, I'm quite enjoying Yellowjackets

Ooh, we just got paramount so I’m going to check it out.

I’m enjoying Pokerface, silly but good.

Nothing is like Succession! But it's the first thing that I've found that I'm genuinely enjoying. Barry was okayish and Pokerface I sort of liked but was a bit contrived I thought. Very up for other recommendations

Just finished Season 2 of Yellowjackets and it is brilliant, but not in the same league as Succession. I don’t think anything will ever come as close.

It appeals to different people: I have a friend who couldn’t get into Succession but loves Motherland, which is not my cup of tea - I much preferred I Hate Suzie which was written by Lucy Prebble so there we go.

I miss Kendall and Roman </3
Stewy and Uncle Tall (both actor and character name escapes me right now) are up for best supporting Emmy. Fingers crossed for Stewy!

I've started The Bear - it's good! Apparently I Hate Suzie is good and has a Succession writer involved, so it's on my watchlist next, along with White Lotus.

Oh, I meant guest not supporting! And I'll definitely start I Hate Suzie now :)
Has anyone watched HBO's The Industry?

I have, it's a really fun watch, definitely recommend. I watched about four episodes of I Hate Suzy expecting to love it and only quite liked it. I will go back to it though at some point.

White Lotus is fantastic!

Agree that Poker Face is contrived, and not a patch but it’s enjoyable.

We’ve watched a few excellent things since

Air - a film about Michael Jordan, so good Matt Damon and Ben Affleck typically brilliant with great message

The Program - Lance Armstrong story. Just brilliant I didn’t realise what a big deal all that drugging was, I knew but didn’t pay much attention at the time. Great acting and production

Also just started on The Interrogation which seems highly compelling

Had some duds which we abandoned but above were good. Plus might need to check out White Lotus

There is nothing as good as Succession, in my opinion. First watched it in 2018 and wanged on about to everyone, who all ignored me until about 2021...I've now watched it four times

I’m going to rewatch the sopranos, and twin peaks. Those and succession are my top 3.
