I wouldn’t be surprised if both TLR and Catherine die, heck, even Ryan too. I’m expecting multiple deaths - big finale - last ever episode. There’s no need for any of the three of them to live is there without another series being written which it’s not.

HannaHat · 30/01/2023 11:25

It was definitely Alison's son who murdered TLR's mum.

mum2jakie · 30/01/2023 11:27

Can't help thinking i'll be the Kirsten scenario all over again. Kirsten died believing that Catherine thought she was a shit police officer because she didn't take the opportunity to reassure her before she died.

It will be the same scenario this time around with Ryan being killed and Catherine regretting not taking the opportunity to tell him how much she loves him. I suspect Ryan will step in to prevent his dad from killing Catherine and be killed in the crossfire. When push comes to shove, he would always choose to save Catherine rather than his dad. Ryan will sacrifice himself because he believes he is unwanted and unloved.

Threadkillacilla · 30/01/2023 11:27

Will she lose her pension or something because of the racism/ bullying accusations?

BorsetshireBanality · 30/01/2023 11:28

Not to mention punching that scrote!

FuckKnowsMate · 30/01/2023 11:33

@Scarletpetunias in regards to the timeline, it said ‘six months later’ on screen for the next scene after the one where Catherine was talking about her retirement. So there had been a 6 month jump between them finding the body and to everything we have seen since

CrossPurposes · 30/01/2023 11:39

Scarletpetunias · 30/01/2023 10:48

I’m getting very mixed up with the timelines in this series. Last night Catherine says that she nicked Joanne last week, and yet in The opening episode, she was called to Joanne’s house by Rob. That was the same episode where she said at the start that she had seven months to go til retirement. Never mind aliens, it’s feeling like we’re travelling through time!

There was a time jump in the first episode after TLR is questioned about the body in the lake and then it's six months later when we see Ryan playing football for the school.

Cross post!

I agree that Catherine must just feel totally exhausted and betrayed by everyone. I can also see how that might mean she can’t say she loves Ryan back - I know as parents we are always meant to be able to reach above for our kids ( and he’s her grandson) but I think it’s very believable that sometimes you just can’t immediately. It really hasn’t been long since she found out they had all betrayed her ( and I think she just feel Ryan has betrayed her and can’t get past that immediately - I thought when she asked him to move out for a couple of nights it was her recognising that she needed time to get past it and didn’t want to say anything she’d regret).

Also wonder if Darius will get rid of TLR - agree he is now a liability.

I think TLR is genuinely nervous about going abroad like he said - and I’m not sure he’s actually be able to. I think someone on a previous post mentioned his home is all he has ever known, he’s drawn back there, he can’t comprehend being somewhere else. So could he even go through with moving abroad - not sure. He also isn’t that bright and I think struggles with thinking of anything outside of what he knows.

HannaHat · 30/01/2023 11:25

It was definitely Alison's son who murdered TLR's mum.

Was it. Why

Sure she wasn't walking the streets then

He's been dead 6yrs

Sure Catherine spoke to her in s3 e1

Yes Alison’s son murdered TLR’s mum in season 2 - he was the serial killer. The implication was she was back on the streets.

StrychnineInTheSandwiches · 30/01/2023 11:43

Tommy's mum was a heroin addict who worked on and off as a prostitute.

Scarletpetunias · 30/01/2023 11:46

@FuckKnowsMate thank you - I’d clearly glanced away from the screen for a few seconds at a crucial point!

007DoubleOSeven · 30/01/2023 11:46

Catherine has never said she loves Ryan. At least not on screen. I watched the first 2 series again and Ryan tells her he loves her a few times. She never says it back. I think they'll have a bit of showdown in which he asks her if she loves him, really push her on the question. I think she'll be unable to give the answer he needs.

Blondeshavemorefun · 30/01/2023 11:48

Obviously missed that Alison's son killed Tommys mum

So she's been in that garage for 6yrs

Surely Body would be more decayed that it was when we saw the hand
