@Pl242 I wondered that, but I am also a bit confused by the poster. Admittedly, as seen in an earlier post, convinced myself that C and R go to somewhere with police protection (aka basically out the way) and the bent copper or whoever it is with links to the OCG tells him where they are as TLR is now working for the OCG (I am going to use OCG now as it's much easier to type than Keneviciks or however it is you spell it!)

Just found this discussion so feel free to shoot me for any ignorant mistakes.

I am
worried about TLR's "bungee jumping " promise to Ryan. I think
the whole "disneydad" act is pure pretence
(given away by the canal boat petrol incident) to inveigle Ryan into a new scenario where they die together. Ultimate revenge on Becky's family. .

JaneJeffer · 26/01/2023 18:48

Hopefully you'll soon be skipping off to the loo @Blondeshavemorefun and can pass the commode on to Darius

SoNoWrecksToday · 26/01/2023 18:55

Thanks for the new thread!

I predict Catherine will be told of the escape and be instructed to hide or be protected by armed police. She will ignore it! I see her setting her jaw, switching off the radio and heading straight toward the lions maw.

And then she’ll end TLR, get handed £2k from Joyce, drop Ryan at Claire’s with his sleeping bag and bugger off in the Landy with Alison.

This was my thinking as well, as last time he tried that it didn't work out , but the intent was there.

I'm only joining in now as I'm not in the UK as it takes an extra couple of days after airing for me to stream each episode. So I will be late to the catch up threads for a couple more weeks as I dare to open one before I have caught up.

Got to be the best series on at the moment, and I'm from another country. Although it was a bit of a rude awakening to find out season 3 hadn't all aired as I raced through the first 2 seasons.

I don’t think there’s anything weird about Neil.

I think if there was he wouldn’t have been so happy to say to Ryan he’d stop taking him.

Or if Neil knew about the escape he'd know he wouldn't need to?

JemimaPyjamas · 26/01/2023 19:10

Interesting point re the bungee jumping. Is it, or is it not, a red herring...?

Xrays · 26/01/2023 19:10

Yeah possibly.

I have wondered that.

I do like Neil as an actor and character so we will see!

HannaHat · 26/01/2023 19:15

I think TLR would only harm Ryan if he was cornered like a rat, I think he wanted to kill Ryan in season 1 because he'd been stabbed and thought he was dying himself.

I'm wondering if Ryan will hack away at the bungee rope (? - is it a rope?) to save Catherine's life and TLR will plunge umpteen feet headfirst onto rocks and to his doom. (I'm not sure how C and TLR will end up in a Reichenbach Falls situation on the end on bungee ropes, but just trust me on this one)

Catherine and Alison will cover up for him, but he'll be an emotional wreck so they'll take him to the Himalayas on a road trip. They'll come back, he'll join the police and they'll proudly watch his passing out parade.

EsmaCannonball · 26/01/2023 19:23

I don't think there's going to be any actual bungee jumping, or, at least, if TLR falls from a great height, he's not going to be doing it with a cord attached to him. He wasn't learning Spanish so he could read Don Quixote in the original (unless the book selection in that charity shop had a really profound effect). I suppose he's deluded enough to think that Ryan will be delighted to abscond to Spain or Ecuador (getting more than just hairdo inspiration from that Julian Assange) and then he'll go mental when Ryan decides that life on the run with psycho pyromaniac rapist murdering daddy isn't quite for him.

I beg your pardon @EsmaCannonball - that's my make-believe husband you are insulting. he hs had a complete change of heart in order to be worthy of my love. 😆

TolkiensFallow · 26/01/2023 19:26

Anyone else optimistic for a season 4? I feel like there’s a lot to cram into the next 2 episodes…

EsmaCannonball · 26/01/2023 19:26

Well, I suppose TLR taking over from Matt Baker on Countryfile is the twist we all didn't see. He looks like he's really enjoying nature.

I like this 😁

And then in a few years we’ll have a new series with Ryan in the lead role…?!

Threadkillacilla · 26/01/2023 19:35

So are we ruling Joyce out for being the wrong un?

Emotionalsupportviper · 26/01/2023 19:35

Excellent suggestion @Xrays .

Unless she eats all of the retirement cake herself, probably yes.
