Who will be victorious?

OP posts:

I was never clear whether Alex and Tom had the same obligation to keep quiet to each other if one of them was a traitor. I was surprised that one of them didn’t get the shoulder tap.

By the rules of the game, of course they would. But given they were in a relationship, the question is whether they'd prioritise that or the game rules. They'd be disqualified if they broke them.

I think if one of them had been a traitor, it would possibly have fallen apart very quickly and not in an entertaining or enjoyable way. It's a bit counterintuitive but I think the producers made the right call.

I’d assume they’d have a secret signal to let each other know if either of them was a traitor. They’d have been able to try to take the heat off the traitor/faithful and as long as one of them won the money, it wouldn’t matter which one if they had already decided to split it.

Agree with PP Alex came across as very self important.

Is the Australian series downloadable from anywhere? The site I've got seems to be streaming only

Peasepuddingbloodycold · 30/12/2022 15:50

Sorry, I'm streaming only. I'm kind of enjoying the Australian series but I'm mostly enjoying how different the participants are behaving to the UK version.
Does anyone think a non-spoiler thread would work? Or have a rule about which episodes can be discussed so far? Would that work?

CoffeeBoy · 30/12/2022 22:55

Wilf is currently doing a tiktok live

Lovesnowforever · 01/01/2023 12:07

I’m late to the party, only binge watched it in last two days.
I loved it.
Im happy will both exposed and banished.
I also liked how Kieran handed himself so well, very slick and cool.
I liked Amanda too, loved her style.
I hope there will be another series..
Is there anything fairly similar to this I can watch?

CaveMum · 01/01/2023 13:33

@Lovesnowforever you can stream the Australian version online and the US version starts on 12 January.

nancyglancy · 01/01/2023 13:36

Dutch version. With English subtitles. They are celebrities but only in the Netherlands!

nc824 · 01/01/2023 15:19

Hi all, apologies late to this as have binged. Was anyone else disappointed in the ending? It just all seems rather pointless if an embittered banished traitor can point the finger at the other traitor or other clues on leaving? Imagine if Alyssa had done that all those episodes ago?!

I agree. Kieron spoilt the whole premise of the show.

SequinsandStilettos · 01/01/2023 19:32

I agree too. It totally went against the grain. The whole point was to keep shtum until a consensus of we're all faithful. You then would have had Hannah's heart torn in two, unless Aaron turned out to be more astute than he came across.
What was interesting was in the UK version the three all shared without a share or steal option endplay. I would have loved it had Meryl suddenly written down STEAL and nicked the lot!

wesayno · 01/01/2023 19:53

Kieron made fantastic telly, which is more important.

CoffeeBoy · 01/01/2023 20:34

Wilf is doing another live on tiktok now. Aaron has joined him. Wilf wears his cape for all his tiktoks. 😂. They are in a contract for a year where they aren’t allowed to say Much.

Peasepuddingbloodycold · 01/01/2023 20:40

I don’t have TikTok, has anything interesting been said?

Apparently they weren’t allowed to talk to each other about the game apart from at specified times. I had visions of them spending all day scheming with each other but nope.

CoffeeBoy · 01/01/2023 20:54

Wilf said he picked Kieron because it had to be a man and that he trusted Kieron but he says Kieron turned into a serial killer.

What? Wilf killed and betrayed more people than anyone else! He was the only one who was never loyal to a single person.

I'd expect that. Keeps it fairer, more difficult and easier for production to get everything important on camera.

LindorDoubleChoc · 02/01/2023 10:41

Finally finished this last night, was great telly!

DH and I both enraged at the outcome. Will should have won. Kieron cheated with his heavy hints and, now we know he's an utter prick from the You Tube videos, it's not surprising really. He couldn't handle himself at all, he was a hopeless player.

It hurts my heart that those three won the money and they didn't deserve it in any way, shape or form. Maybe Aaron did a little for his contributions to the prize fund, but Hannah and Meryl - it's an absolute travesty they got a penny. They were the most CLUELESS players in the game right up until the very last minute. GAH! It actually makes me angry!!

Yes. I agree completely. I was a late watcher too. I can't believe people on this thread, who watched the whole lot, are actually happy with that outcome.

TottersBlankly · 02/01/2023 13:55

But isn’t this a really interesting observation on real life? Surely there have to be occasions when not being the smartest or quickest or most ruthless is actually an advantage in terms of survival.

Valuable lesson!

PuppyMonkey · 02/01/2023 14:00

Completely disagree about Kieran running things at the end. It’s the game, you can say what you like at Round Table - doesn’t mean you’re telling the truth and everyone else HAS to believe you. Kieran could’ve just been a shit stirrer for all anyone else at the table knew.

Quite, it wasn't about being the cleverest or sneakiest etc it was about getting through to the final!

They were probably nice, consistent in behaviour, not super "book" smart, not a threat - essentially they flew under the radar for a while and also inadvertently supported and protected the traitor.

Way to at least get to the final, work out the traitor (somehow), don't let on and support them as much as possible publicly. Then. Bite them off at the end mwhaahahhaha
