One of the most interesting thing about the Australian version.... Open water swimming! No life vests, no wetsuits etc.

Just jump in and swim!

Thanks 😀

I've only watched first episode but the contestants seem more interesting than the U.K. ones!

amylou8 · 30/12/2022 17:15

I watched it before the UK one. I preferred it. It seemed much better natured and they treated it like the game it is.

Lentilweaver · 30/12/2022 17:49

Am on Episode 2. Prefer the UK version. Better scenery, far better presenter, smarter Traitors I think. But early days.

Peasepuddingbloodycold · 30/12/2022 18:01

I'm a few in, and so far I prefer the UK version. It was a bit more gentle and friendly.

I don't know what to make of MK or Chloe.

And some of the participants' behaviour seems so counter-intuitive in terms of Faithful acting like Traitors.

ellebelli · 30/12/2022 18:18

I'm watching 👀
Think I'm on ep 4.
Prefer the UK one.
The Australian characters are just that!real characters.
I like Theresa and Mark

00100001 · 30/12/2022 19:02

Do love that they are less "i love youuuuuuuuu".

And interesting that only one person can win the money? I wonder how that would work if it is all traitors left at the end it whatever.

There’s definitely less crying in the Australian version!

I hadn't picked up on that (I'm skimming through some bits). I think that the idea of sharing brought a bit more to the game.

Do you think? I was thinking that there's more crying.

Peasepuddingbloodycold · 30/12/2022 19:15

Another thing that has annoyed me, with both countries' series, is the amount of overly dramatic music. It's an Americanisation that I can't stand.

Peasepuddingbloodycold · 30/12/2022 19:16

See also, the endless repetition and reminder of what just happened.

ellebelli · 30/12/2022 20:01

Im only really interested in the round table discussions and the murder-the rest is just filler.
I didn't mind all of the uk one even the tasks etc which others said they skipped through, but with this that is what i want to do.
where are we all up to? would be nice to discuss somethings that have happened

Oh yes, lots of ffwd!

Inskio to 2m30 and skips all the time at recaps from things clearly just after a break.

I've seen 1-4.

I'm up to episode 10.

I'd like to talk about Chloe (the psychic) when people are ready.

OhYouBadBadKitten · 30/12/2022 21:20

At least the Australian version isn't full of people all declaring themselves a million percent faithful every time they open their mouths.

FAR less crying.

Its fascinating to see the difference in how people played the game, I think the UK competitors all became so enmeshed in the group and over-involved with each other that it became impossible for them to set emotions aside and focus on the goals.

Lentilweaver · 30/12/2022 21:50

I have finished Episode 4 and want to talk about why nobody voted for Angus when he is practically going around with a big red flag saying "I am a traitor". His desperation to get the shield
Taking out Midy ( so obvious) when Midy had consistently voted against him
Everybody saying he would make a great traitor, going on about the stuff he says, and then voting for someone else at round table. Why?! It's baffling.

I agree much less crying and whinging about family and how they will use the money to help the less fortunate. But I think the Traitors are much less clever ( except for Nigel). Angus and Claire have been lucky to escape so far, given their tell all body language. I think Chloe the psychic was just very good at reading that.

I think not hearing from the murdered people after they are murdered also makes it a bit abrupt.

Adeckofcards · 30/12/2022 22:31

I'm watching it and am fascinated by their clothes. Some of them are wearing vest tops and fake tan and others are wearing winter coats and sitting by the firepit with blankets.

Adeckofcards · 30/12/2022 22:33

Posted too soon - some of them are NEVER on camera e.g. Paul and Craig. I don't think they've ever said more than two words? Surely it can be edited to include some clips of them talking about anything?

Lentilweaver · 30/12/2022 22:36

Also why did they all plunge into the lake fully dressed? I can't imagine swimming in a tracksuit.
