Thank you. I haven’t watched the Aus one yet, it’s my treat for gloomy January days.

I think many wannabe stars who have no experience or training have this idea that "presenting" is easy.

Meryl never said a single word that made any sense!

Apparently Meryl would like to become a talk show host/TV presenter. I didn't find her very engaging on screen, or very good at asking pertinent questions, but maybe that was the situation and the editing.

She'd be dreadful. What on earth makes her think she'd be good? Now I think Maddy would be quite good at it.

Just finished watching the Australian version on my laptop. Wow!

I hope the US one will be good, but can't believe it can top the UK and Aus ones.

Is it as good as the UK one? I'll binge it soon.

Watched first two episodes of Australia...wheeee

If this is anything like Big Brother, the first one or two series are the best. After that they are invaded by the celebrity hounds who desperately want to be famous. I hope that doesn't happen.

@KatherineJaneway I agree, I'll watch a celebrity version and then maybe one more season but that would be it. Im sure it will go the way of big brother!

rue. I was a bit cynical about Alex and Maddy who were both actors in the UK series. These shows are like a magnet to get themselves on camera.

Oh my god

I stated to follow some of the contestants of Instagram and Alex the ‘actress’ does those annoying videos where she accosts member of the public going about their day with some mushy nonsense about self love. In one she has a frame, with the back of the frame pointed towards the poor sods she’s ambushed saying “On the other side is a masterpiece - would you like to see it”. They say yes, Then she turns it over and it’s a mirror. Member of public looks awkward.

Not sure if this is considered acting but I feel like

1. This may work in the likes of the US but here any random compliments are seen as weird and suspicious.
2. She only ever approaches mingers people who aren’t conventionally good looking and it just comes off as so patronising.

I wish someone would do it to me because I’d just be deadpan and say “Well that’s a mirror. What’s your point?”.

I always found Alex annoying. Overly self important.

She IS beautiful and I think sometimes it's hard to come across well when you are very good looking. No doubt that she did the show for exposure though, and I guess it's worked.

For me, one of the show's highlights was when Tom lost his rag (I forget why) and shouted out that Alex was his girlfriend. The look on her face!!! And no surprise they were both voted off sharpish because of the lies.

Good idea from the production team to include a couple, I'm assuming with the aim of seeing whether that couple will work together or betray each other. Shame that Tom blew the whole idea apart with his little tantrum.
