Hello all GPTD fans the next series has been announced and will start on 8th January at 7:45. It’s a Sunday night and it’s on Channel 4 as usual.

Festive Pottery Throw Down is on Christmas Day too. James Fleet, Jamie Laing, Jenny Eclair and Sunetra Sarker are the celebrities taking part this year.

Thank you poshjock 😍

So up for crynKeef et Al.

@Maireas my friend. Calling you. Calling you. Have you seen this?

I just need to remember nearer the time to set my doofer ☺️

ArcaneWireless · 26/12/2022 16:30

I couldn’t see a Christmas one. But I criedalongaKeef.

And as someone who also identified with Morph, maybe that is why it pinged my weep string.

A very worthy winner. (Don’t want to spoil!). And it was such a heartwarming programme.

Gaun yersels, Siobhan, Keef and Richard. Lovely stuff.

And yersel Sunetra. 😘

Toddlerteaplease · 26/12/2022 18:38

I love James!! But for goodness sake Keith, stop crying. It really spoils it.

Piggywaspushed · 26/12/2022 19:40

Had a wee chat about the show on the Sewing Bee thread. It was lovely and the makes were all beautiful (well, wasn't too sure about the pub/petrol station!).

It's such a nice show.

ArcaneWireless · 26/12/2022 19:48

I’ve still that to watch so will have a look in a bit piggy 😊

You are right though, it is a beautiful show.

Ladybrrrd · 26/12/2022 21:38

Waiting patiently… 🥲

SoupDragon · 02/01/2023 18:42

Can't wait! Loved the Christmas special.

I like Crying Keith. It's nice to see a man overcome with emotion like that.

RegainingTheWill2023 · 02/01/2023 18:47

I also loved the Christmas episode. James Fleet's creation was brilliant but I loved the fact it showed what is possible for 'potters' with little or no experience.
Looking forward to the new series 😀

iklboo · 02/01/2023 18:50

I'm so excited! It's love the programme, even with Crying Keef. Richard is lovely & supportive, too.

TokyoSushi · 02/01/2023 18:53

Oh brilliant, checking in!

GettingStuffed · 02/01/2023 18:55

I love this programme In about to watch the festive one

Choconut · 02/01/2023 20:26

Keith crying might have meant something the first time but now he turns it on with such regularity that it's meaningless - to the point it seems like he's been told it's a talking point and to make sure he does it once every show.

SoupDragon · 02/01/2023 22:38

He doesn't "turn it on". 🙄 Emotional responses don't only happen for a set amount of time and then stop. That's not how it works.

I listened to an interview with him and he said it was just the pottery that does it for him, other common emotional things leave him dry eyed,

Sunbird24 · 08/01/2023 18:57

Checking in early to get a good seat!

MavisMcMinty · 08/01/2023 19:05

I love Keith and his crying. Tears are just emotion in liquid form for me, and I cry at anything beautiful.

ArcaneWireless · 08/01/2023 19:14

Perching. Hopefully will be able to watch live but expect not!

MavisMcMinty · 08/01/2023 19:17

Far too many ads to watch live. Reckon if I start at 20.15 and whizz through the ads, I’ll be ready for Happy Valley by 21.00.

I watch no telly except for Pottery Throwdown and Happy Valley, and they’re both on the same day, FFS!

Bagzzz · 08/01/2023 19:17

Looking forward to this. I have no doubt Keith is genuine, I find him crying a bit annoying but that’s more a reflection on me than him. (If it bothered me that much I can always turn over.)

Sunbird24 · 08/01/2023 19:48

Just need to make a brew, brb!

Roussette · 08/01/2023 19:49

Hi all ! I only realised there was a new series recently wahoooo!

TokyoSushi · 08/01/2023 19:52

Checking in!

LaChatte · 08/01/2023 19:53

Thier benches are all wobbly!

Roussette · 08/01/2023 19:53

This seems a really hard first challenge?!
