Hello all GPTD fans the next series has been announced and will start on 8th January at 7:45. It’s a Sunday night and it’s on Channel 4 as usual.

Festive Pottery Throw Down is on Christmas Day too. James Fleet, Jamie Laing, Jenny Eclair and Sunetra Sarker are the celebrities taking part this year.

Lois's works best

PurplePositivity · 12/03/2023 22:01

In fact it's so obvious, we don't really need this advert break!

Backstreetsbackalrightdadada · 12/03/2023 22:02

Why did they not even put flowers in one of the blokes vases :(

yeah think Lois will win, but to be fair she has been outstanding! Loved some of her decor, the blokes had really beautiful details too - love some of their imagery!!

Sunbird24 · 12/03/2023 22:02

It’s so obvious that I’m not even going to watch… Need to pack my stuff for work tomorrow and make sure I’ve done everything I need. Night folks, has been fun!

FitYeDaeinYeMadRadge · 12/03/2023 22:04

I will say Lois has it, but I find her paintwork far too busy.

a little bit of me wonders how Caitlin would have fared.

I agree. I loved Caitlin.
And Helen.

Bagzzz · 12/03/2023 22:05

Night all, don’t need to watch, I’m not much one for emotional endings or families being brought in. Great series.

LaChatte · 12/03/2023 22:05

Also going to bed, relying on you guys to tell me what happens!

Maireas · 12/03/2023 22:06

Lois has been consistently excellent.
However, Jon has really made amazing progress and James is very skillful and has had some very good pieces.
She's the winner though.

FitYeDaeinYeMadRadge · 12/03/2023 22:08

Meh

Piggywaspushed · 12/03/2023 22:12

I'm pleased for Lois. But not my favourite ever. I love seeing what they have got up to since. They are all so much more interesting than me.

FitYeDaeinYeMadRadge · 12/03/2023 22:13

Love the catch up bit. The ferret!!!

HeadNorth · 12/03/2023 22:13

Just lovely to see everyone at the end, such a heart warming programme.

Maireas · 12/03/2023 22:13

What a nice, happy summary. Lovely people, and such a great show to watch. I'll miss it!

It really is.

SwedishEdith · 12/03/2023 23:46

For the families bit, it only showed Jon and James with their parents. I assumed both then unmarried and childless. But then, at the end, it mentioned children for both of them.

ArcaneWireless · 12/03/2023 23:57

I think Caitlin and Helen would have bossed the final.

Piggywaspushed · 13/03/2023 06:56

Their children were seen fairly extensively in the first couple of episodes.

lieselotte · 13/03/2023 08:02

I liked Jon's the best, but Lois is undoubtedly massively talented - musical as well.

Great programme.

Maireas · 13/03/2023 08:39

I know absolutely nothing about pottery, but this is such a lovely programme. What creativity and hard work!
The presenter and judges are so good humoured and kind, there's no notion of anyone being made to feel like a failure. Great show.

viques · 13/03/2023 09:29

Such a lovely programme, supportive judges, supportive contestants, skill levels lesser mortals can only marvel at, and the heart in mouth wilfulness of the kiln for random hope dashing.

I think Lois is a very talented woman, who came into the process with amazing skills which she built on, and on the basis of what she produced over the series she was a worthy winner, but Jon’s humour, enjoyment, good nature and above all watching him grow and develop as an artist won me over and I almost wanted a small kiln disaster to scupper Lois at the final hurdle to let him win.

(I didn’t warm to James at all, and didn’t think he was quite as good as he thought he was.)

SlayB · 13/03/2023 10:03

Feeling the Jon love … joint first in my eyes. The design of Lois’s vase was very good but, I felt over decorated.

Maireas · 13/03/2023 10:24

I think Lois and Jon were joint first.
James, Caitlin and Helen joint second.
And I'm so happy that Christophe proposed and his boyfriend said yes!
I'm also happy that George is in the process of getting his FRCS.
Joy all round!

talkingmorenonsense · 13/03/2023 19:57

I really wanted Lois to win, I love her creativity. ❤️

Saucery · 13/03/2023 20:18

Ahh, that was quite lovely! Where am I going to get my Warm Rosy Glow from every week now?
