Pottery Throw down is BACK!

Hello all GPTD fans the next series has been announced and will start on 8th January at 7:45. It’s a Sunday night and it’s on Channel 4 as usual.

Festive Pottery Throw Down is on Christmas Day too. James Fleet, Jamie Laing, Jenny Eclair and Sunetra Sarker are the celebrities taking part this year.

I always think Rose’s job must be such high pressure, I would be scared I was going to damage them putting them in the kiln etc, she must have nerves of steel!

Everyone did well, the right person went, but I always think having an elimination on the first week is a bit mean.

Also, do we ever get any poor potters?!

Siobhan is an absolute gem, a proper good soul.
What a lovely bunch! I really like Helen and Fabiola - it's such a shame Vithu had to go, he was obviously a lovely guy.
This is such a lovely programme to watch.

Absolutely loved the ladybird set! So crisp. Think this series will be a doozy. Totally agreed with the winner.

And can we not turn this thread in to a Rose pile on. She is trans, it's no surprise she makes pottery to that effect. Her pots with the tentacles are just incredible, I'm going to snap some up if I ever can. Calling her 'him' is so flipping disrespectful and I don't want to lose the thread to it. Shan't comment any further on that.

I’ve just looked at Rose’s Instagram and she is talented - some of her hermit crab pots look like they are about to scuttle off - incredible energy and detail.

I also really liked the ladybird set but Lois was amazing for what she achieved in that time. Some beautiful work - and such warm, supportive judging. Lovely all round.

Oh I love it so much!! But the first person to go… (not naming in case of spoilers?)… I didn’t agree with that, I thought they were very promising and think no one should go home in the first episode. And they were so diligent and self critical in the first round!!

I like rose a lot! I wouldn’t want to be in charge of the kiln or carrying all these pots!

Siobhan seems much happier this season (last season seemed a bit sad?). Loved the opening scene.

Love Keith and rich so much! So sweet and they notice really interesting things to point out, but they’re generally very fair too.

Yeah I just had a look too (had only ever looked once before, when they first appeared on the show to replace Rich because I'd been accused of being a terrible person for misgendering someone who was so obviously a woman 🙄), I also really like the crawling pots.

The really horrible stuff they used to do is harder to find now, not sure if this is due to C4 trying to smooth things over a bit or not. Their twitter is vile though.

It does spoil it all a bit for me, so (after once again bringing it up 😅 ) I agree that this isn't really the thread for discussing it!
