Pottery Throw down is BACK!

Hello all GPTD fans the next series has been announced and will start on 8th January at 7:45. It’s a Sunday night and it’s on Channel 4 as usual.

Festive Pottery Throw Down is on Christmas Day too. James Fleet, Jamie Laing, Jenny Eclair and Sunetra Sarker are the celebrities taking part this year.

I listened to an interview with him once where he said it's literally only the emotion of the Pottery that sets him off. Other stuff in day to day life has no effect whatsoever.

Everyone is free not to watch it and/or not look at Rose's online content. We're hardly in Andrew Tate territory.

A plea if you are not watching not to come on the thread and announce you aren't watching. That'd be grand. I've tried to ignore thus far but every other post is about Rose.

And MN users are free to comment as they wish. There's lots of comments on MN that dont interest me - but I just skip over them once I see a key word that I know wont be of interest to me.

Ignore the posts you dont like. That'd be grand.

The amount we see is entirely down to the editing of the footage. He can't help it.

Gosh! - it's almost as if we were all different people with different opinions and preferences, isn't it? People who have come together on a thread to share those opinions and preferences, as well as talk about the pottery, knowing that some will agree with us and some won't.

So can we just accept that instead of trying to shut each other up, please?

I accept that Keef may not be able to control his emotions; I accept that how much is shown is up to the editing; it still gets on my nerves. It doesn't get on yours, and you see it as a evidence of the depth of his emotions - fine. I'm happy with that. You like crying, I don't. And we can both comment on the fact without getting precious about it.

This isn't an echo chamber. Just chill. Let people express their opinions. Accept they may not be the same as yours.

you need to get a grip. I just made a lighthearted comment, nothing that warranted that ridiculous outpouring of... whatever.

If Rose was to take a bigger part in the programme I would have to weigh up whether I carried on watching it. But that's a problem (potentially) for the future. Opinions on their outside activities will vary and that's fine.

That isn't wat I am saying though. Keith cries on the programme so - fair enough- people can discuss that.

Rose's online presence is actually not a thing in terms of the programme and she is such a small part of it. It isn't relevant to the viewing of the programme itself.

But - whatever - it's just not a nice vibe, for want of a better word. And it's cognitive dissonance because the programme is nice .

Seriously impressive! Her 'Stella' porcelain vessels are just ace!

Jodie is the Welsh lady isn't she? She was fantastic. I think she was the one who made a lighthouse as one of the challenges.

Yes I think so. Very tempted by one of her pots. I feel I'm determined to have something, by one of my them. AJ is all sold out and Rose's brilliant tentacle pots are too... If anyone knows of any other potters from the show with stuff to buy I'm all in!

I apologise if I seemed to be targeting you @SoupDragon - I wasn't in particular.

Your post was just in the firing line when I'd read a long list of "don't say this", "I don't like people saying that", "don't spoil the vibe by saying things I disagree with" etc and I just thought how nice it would be if we could just disagree (and by all means say we disagree, if necessary) without turning into the thread police where some people are telling others what they can and cannot say.

I can see how (as I quoted you) it will have seemed directed at your post, but it wasn't in particular - it was sloppy posting on my part.

Don't be pushed away - be me or anyone else - if you enjoy the discussion.
