As one officer said, "it's a juicy one"

When the truck owner was listing the crimes he'd been a victim of, I wondered if it was the same pair responsible as it sounded similar. I bet it was.

I see Adam had commented on Twitter about the huge amount of supportive comments.

He has been released on license.

BooksAndHooks · 29/11/2022 07:10

There is a huge issue with gangs on bikes robbing kids at knifepoint, car thefts, burglary and it seems the police do little about it, many times they don’t even investigate. There will be a rise in people taking matters into their own hands as a result. I’m pretty sure my own husband would give chase knowing it would be the only chance of them being caught.

countvoncount · 29/11/2022 07:47

I've just finished watching this (fell asleep last night)
The end result is everything that is wrong with this country.
Absolutely disgusting.

Looneytune253 · 29/11/2022 07:58

Sid077 · 28/11/2022 22:43

I don’t think he should have chased them but I also think he was quite naive to admit to anything at the scene and not go no comment in the interview, if 24 hours has taught me anything it’s a no comment interview is best until you have a strategy.

I don't know if you noticed but at least twice the police officers were advising him to stop talking.
Just goes to show he's not a scrote though. They know exactly what to do in this situation. I was outraged at the sentencing

BigSandyBalls2015 · 29/11/2022 08:05

Is this a new series?

According to The Mirror in the link upthread, “Adam is currently on a tag after being released from prison in September.”

He went in in February so “only” served 7 months. Thank god he’s out though. I hope someone gives him a job.

He’s a self employed electrician - he’ll be fine for work.

FiscalDragQueen · 29/11/2022 09:11

I'm not so sure. Adam looked very different from the day he was interviewed to the last time we saw him on screen. He looked stressed, aged and depressed. He then went to jail. I'd be very surprised if he was just getting on with his life as normal.

This case has so outraged me. With every kind of crap going on in this country, to see this injustice just makes me think that this country is out of control now. The wild animals have taken over.

whatsthestory123 · 29/11/2022 09:44

i was shocked how older he looked
he is serving a life sentence in his own mind

LynneBenfield · 29/11/2022 09:45

Absolutely agree re the police, they were mostly fair handed in it and privately agreed that they would have probably done the same as Adam in the same situation (given chase). However, private opinions and the law are two different things (mostly that’s a good thing, though in this situation I don’t agree) and they had to gather evidence to present to the CPS. It was when it got to the courts that it seems the wheels came off.

FiscalDragQueen · 29/11/2022 09:47

I am so disgusted by this that I just sent off an email to Suella Braverman. I'm sure it will go in the bin, but telling her I will be voting against her party in the next election as a result of this and all the other shit we have to put up with in this country brought me some light relief.

Borntobeamum · 29/11/2022 09:51

I’m lost for words.
Ive sat and cried at this episode.
Talk about injustice.

Susiesue61 · 29/11/2022 10:01

I agree with @UniversalAunt The programme was heavily weighted towards the family. But he broke the law and could have killed people. If he had lived on a crappy estate and not been a nice respectable family man, would we be so sympathetic? But his crime would be the same

FiscalDragQueen · 28/11/2022 22:20

I am absolutely f*cking disgusted with what I have just seen.

Two scallies without a brain cell between them brazenly rock up to his house wearing helmets and carrying crow bars. He sees them and goes out and gives chase in his car. The police admit that he mounted a kerb, blew 2 tyres and clipped the stolen motorbike they were riding.

Both scumbags had a criminal record as long as your arm.

Why were they on the street in the first place?
Why did that investigating policeman say that "you can't take the law into your own home, you have to leave it to the police to investigate and bring to justice". OH THE F*CKING IRONY. The courts did jack shit to put them in jail, and they were on the street free to offend, and their injuries didn't stop them. Plus, my local police said they are no longer attending burgalries, and then gangs came along and ram raided shops and ripped ATM's off the walls.

I feel so sorry for that guy. His life is ruined. Now he is being sued by the 2 scum.

When are these 2 men going to be locked up, plus they need to castrated. One of them has 3 kids. He should not be allowed to breed.

I think we need to lobby the Home Secretary about this injustice.

Next time someone tries to break into your house with crow bars with your small DC inside, just let them because YOU will end up in trouble, not you know...the actual criminals.

Couldn't have summed it up any better myself.

I hope the poor family can put this nightmare behind them and rebuild their lives.

spookypump · 29/11/2022 10:05

OneFrenchEgg · 28/11/2022 22:35

I am thinking:

What was he planning when he caught them?
He lost control/rammed them and damaged a pick up that was unrelated to the incident
It's like the farmer who shot the guy as he was leaving- at that point it's vengeance not defence
I suspect an example was made of Adam because the police and CPS don't want to encourage vigilant

Absolutely the men were thugs and career criminals but I don't agree with taking the law into your own hands

Maybe if the Police were more effective then victims would not feel the need to take the law into their own hands and incidents like this could potentially be avoided.

Showmethecardis · 29/11/2022 10:06

Would you feel the same if your child was walking home across the pavement Adam mounted and was killed?

He was full of rage and chasing them, no better than them in my opinion.

Toddlerteaplease · 28/11/2022 21:58

What a stupid reason for a termination.

I thought it very sensible. His expensive barrister had probably pointed our that of found guilty he faced a custodial sentence.

peppapig79 · 29/11/2022 10:13

The 2 scumbags are on tiktik bragging about it 😒

He's a self employed electrician, making food money judging by the size of his house and expensive car
I think he'll be OK, and won't have anyone's death on his conscience which looked likely at the scene of the accident..

This is exactly why I'm struggling to have any sympathy for him. He could could of so easily killed an innocent person. Everyday driving to work I witness aggressive reckless men driving and the more of them off the road the better. I wonder if he had his license taken off him, I would assume so but I don't think they said.
