As one officer said, "it's a juicy one"

I do agree with whoever said about the editing in his favour. At the scene he referred to them both as something like scumbags while they were lying in the floor and he didn't know if they were dead. He asked if he would get into trouble. I suspect that was the point he started to regret what he'd done, and not while he was chasing them at speed.

I8toys · 29/11/2022 12:44

I've just started watching this and I know its going to make my blood boil. I totally understand his reaction. My first thought this defines the saying "Fuck around and find out!". If they were not trying to break in they wouldn't be in that predicament in the first place.

burnoutbabe · 29/11/2022 12:48

I think if it had been much closer to his house it would have been different.

But it was 5 mins drive away. Heat of moment should have gone by then and at 11pm he could have kill people leaving local pubs in that village very easily.

lawofselfish · 29/11/2022 13:19

I thought it very sensible. His expensive barrister had probably pointed our that of found guilty he faced a custodial sentence.

So an innocent baby is killed because? Because it would have only one parent for a little while?

Doesn't make much sense to me.

Toddlerteaplease · 29/11/2022 13:39

@lawofselfish I completely agree. I thought that was awful. Just because they might have to have a smaller house. He lost my sympathy at that moment.

@RedHelenB they ended an innocent life for the sake of a few months of difficulty. Given the side of the house. They were hardly on the Breadline. I'm

We shouldn’t be judging about the termination a woman has a right to terminate for whatever reason she chose that and that’s her right judging her is ridiculous

I don't agree with you though.

Greenshake · 29/11/2022 13:44

The judgement about the termination is disgraceful. All those doing so should be ashamed of themselves.

People are allowed an opinion.

Greenshake · 29/11/2022 13:49

Yes, they are, but some of the commentary on here goes beyond that.

lawofselfish · 29/11/2022 13:51

I'm judging Adam too, he seemed to agree with the termination.

Surely life is worth more?

Greenshake · 29/11/2022 13:55

That is a totally separate debate.

lawofselfish · 29/11/2022 14:00

Not that separate, they brought it up in the programme. We all have opinions on the morals of him giving chase, the morals of the burglars' punishment and some of us have opinions on the termination of a baby.

“An innocent baby”

The law of England and Wales doesn’t agree that legally accessed abortion services is ‘killing babies’. You are using hyperbolic, emotive language to push your agenda. The pregnant woman made a decision regarding her own body, her existing family and the well-being of the potential child, which fell within the law of the country she lives in. Keep your nasty judgements to yourself.

Toddlerteaplease · 29/11/2022 15:09

@lawofselfish I am not ashamed of my beliefs. Why should I be, just because it differs from yours. My beliefs are as valid as yours.

I have no idea what you are actually trying to achieve here, but you are coming across very poorly.

Even the majority of the Police were behind Adam.
Who knows what we would do if that situation happened to us.

Exactly.

I worked in a convenience store many years ago. A man stole 2 bottles of spirits from behind the counter and I chased after him. No idea what I was thinking, but adrenaline kicks in and it's fight or flight. Thank goodness I didn't catch him because he was obviously armed with two blunt weapons.

Not sure that I can watch this particular episode. Sounds like it would be rage inducing.

knittingaddict · 29/11/2022 15:22

Are some people really trying to condmn a woman for making a difficult choice in a horrible situation? That's the take away from this sad tale?

I8toys · 29/11/2022 15:23

The thread has taken a strange turn.

Sadly yes. There appear to be some aggressive agenda pushers amongst us.

DillDanding · 29/11/2022 15:29

I can’t believe the judgement over the abortion.

It was a pragmatic decision in the circumstances. But even if it wasn’t, it’s no-one’s business but theirs.

purpleme12 · 29/11/2022 15:33

I wonder if they'd have phrased it a different way eg I couldn't cope with having a baby on top of what we were going through, I was so stressed out and felt it wasn't the right time, baby was a surprise in the first place and then because of everything going on we decided to terminate, I bet people's reaction would have been different. You could say it's the same thing though when it boils down to it.

Also I had a wonder in my head if he said it almost to garner more sympathy. That because of all this they could have had a baby and now they don't.
