Yes, I saw that. The only flicker of concern about anyone was for himself.

I also caught mention during the Claire’s Law briefing by the two female officers that that he had assaulted a prison guard along with the other known offences he had committed.

I do this job. You achieve far more at the charge bar with an 'alright mate' to an
irate person coming in to custody than being standoffish and judgemental. We're there to de-escalate situations and provide for their welfare whilst in custody. Off to watch episode 2.

I watched the second one today. The 15 year old who came forward was so incredibly brave and articulate! It's thanks to her that this vile excuse is off the streets.

I hated what they did to disguise the identity of his girlfriend. Her voice was altered so badly that I really could not hear/understand what she was saying. It was badly done.

@VinoDino can you explain something that happened in the show please? When the perpetrator was about to walk into his interview, he ended up speaking to his mates about his “r charge” who seemed to be at the front desk. I thought it was odd that he was allowed to speak to members of the public instead of being directed inside the interview room. Is this a normal thing or something that just happened for tv?

I hope the abuse case shown in the last episode was eye opening to people. A lot of people are aware of the dangers of a 30+ year old approaching a 15 year old in a sexual manner and would be disgusted.

But people don’t really speak up about the 20 year olds doing so too. I’m 22 and remember men that age approaching girls I know at school and it was almost seen as a compliment that a cool, somewhat attractive guy in the year(s) above wanted you, even though the girls were underage.

I think because society doesn’t always think 16 year olds dating 20 year olds is an unreasonable age gap, the same aged men dating younger girls can be seen as not that inappropriate as the male is a young adult. But if an older man was in the equation, they’d sooner realise it’s an inappropriate age gap as the male is an adult and the child is not.

I was thinking though, while watching the last one, how long this must take to make. And how difficult it must be to do.
All that footage. From the original arrest or incident. The interviews. All the footage of the cells and corridors. Interviewing people. Then waiting for it to go through the courts. Finding the right bits of footage. Getting permission from everyone. Cutting it all just right so you don’t see some people’s faces.
What about all the stories they start to follow that never get aired? Someone vital refuses permission for example.
If there are only 2 episodes then I wouldn’t be surprised.

@camdenn just had to watch that bit again. It looked like another custody as he had cuffs on I think. He may or may not have known him. Members of the public are definitely not allowed in there!
